Osogbo, Osun State capital, is famously referred to as "Peaceful City". People from far and wide regularly flock to the city, especially during weekends and holidays.

However, in recent time, the rate of criminal activities like kidnappings, armed robbery and cultism have increased in Osogbo which put a question mark on the status of the city as peaceful.

Some days ago, my younger brother called to warn me,around 7:30pm to get in early as cultists/thugs had taken over Owode and Egbatedo areas of the city shooting sporadically.

Yesterday, Sunday 18th December, my mum also came in to narrate her ordeal at Ita Olokan/Oja Oba axis with the same set of people on rampage. This was around 4 - 4:30pm.

According to Amiloaded source who saw what happened, reported that more than 3 people were killed and a house burnt down in the community.

It is believed that rival cult groups were involve in this ugly incident.

We implore the state government to do something as soon as possible about this..
