Health / Re: 10 Rarest Birthmarks by kinggenesis(m): 6:34pm On Feb 15, 2017
A young lad branded "turtle boy" because of a huge shell-like growth on his body is finally free of the birthmark thanks to a British surgeon. Little Didier Montalvo suffered from Congenital Melanocytic Nevus, which meant a mole grew so large that it almost covered his entire back.
The six-year-old from Colombia was teased and banned from going to school because of the growth.

Locals in his village feared that he had been cursed by evil forces because he was conceived during an eclipse. Also, his mum, Luz, could not afford to pay for surgery to help rid her son of the birthmark blighting his life. However, when plastic surgeon Neil Bulstrode, from Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, heard about the boy's plight, he and his team flew to Bogotá to operate on him.

They eventually managed to remove the mole with a series of skin grafts.

For two-year-old Connie Lloyd, there was nothing amusing about having a bright red "clown's nose." Born with a benign tumor that grew to cover her nose, she suffered cruel taunts and name-calling and was told that the rare condition could not be cured. However, the shy little girl has a reason to smile at last after surgeons defied the odds and left her with a "nose like mum's."

At first glance, this man looks like he is part-man, part-wolf, but look closely and you will see that it is actually a giant birthmark and body hair. Zhang Hongming from Chongqing, south-eastern China, is nicknamed "Chimpanzee." He appealed to doctors for help in getting rid of the thick black hair that covers part of his body.

The man has a rare birthmark that also covers a large part of his body. Such birthmarks are seen on no more than 3 percent of the world's population.

Phones / After 17 Years Nokia Is Re-launching The 3310, World’s Most Beloved Phone by kinggenesis(m): 6:19pm On Feb 14, 2017
In the year 2000, Nokia has released the 3310, a phone that changed the whole mobile phone industry. And now, 17 years later, they are re-launching it!

According to the leak by Evan Blass, it will cost €59 (around $62) and will be revealed among Nokia’s new smartphones during the Mobile World Congress on February 26th. It remains to be seen whether we’ll get the exact same phone or it’s going to feature some new functionality.

The company’s legendary phone became user favorite and an internet meme for its ruggedness and seemingly endless battery life. But when other companies moved to touchscreens, Nokia’s struggle has started. Hopefully, Nokia 3310 will put an end to it once again.

Politics / Census Not Likely In 2017, Says NPC Boss by kinggenesis(m): 6:21pm On Feb 03, 2017

Mr Eze Duruiheoma, Chairman, National Population Commission, has said that conducting a national population census in Nigeria was not feasible this year.
Duruiheoma made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja.

He said that there had to be a proclamation to the world by the President that Nigeria was about to conduct a census before the commencement of a national headcounts.

The chairman, who noted that census was not a one-man affair, said technical partners such as UNFPA were co-coordinators of donor agencies in making sure monies voted were utilised appropriately.

According to him, census is a development tool that requires serious attention and not a political exercise. “We will achieve a credible census through use of biometrics such as a finger print of each respondent in order to avoid manipulation of figures.

“It will also help to avoid pitfalls of enumerating ghost people, as well as ensure planning for future development. “Census will help plan for the future and as well as maximise goals of SDGs,” he said.

The chairman urged to Nigerians to demand a credible census as they did for political elections. He therefore assured Nigerians of the commission’s commitment toward credible census.

Phew! We have escaped points deduction because of the City brawl. Fined £100k though.

If the rumour from Metro News is correct, then Chelsea is on the verge of tidying a nice piece of business. It is rumoured that Oscar is set to join Shanghai SIPG in a stunning £52m deal in January.
Oscar is going nowhere..... let him stay and fight for his position.
