INJESUSITRUST: you are right bro, wot is there is that, when you/we commit sin, the holy spirit will go away from you/us, and by then you/us have gone short of the Glory of GOD but wot the guy mean by (when you sin, you are still righteous) is that you/we have no condemnation yet, until you die in it, Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. So for the fact that, we still have that chance to repent and the grace of God is there to help us move out of the sin and continue in goodnes of the Spirit, that is what the guy mean by still holy in sin, so we are all going thesame direction, I think the holy spirit is leading us all. I pray God help us all.

His ministry to the church only started after His death and resurrection. Not that we can't learn from what Jesus told God's earthly people but it must be known that we as part of the church are the true sons of God. As members of this mystical body of Christ called church we are not under any law but under grace.


We are in the dispensation of the Spirit that Christ talked about. Under this dispensation of the Spirit there is liberty.

Why is there liberty? The Spirit does everything for us- He leads us, He teaches us, He intercedes for us, He comforts us. in actual fact, as long as we have the Spirit we fulfil all the requirements of any law or principle.

Do you agree the Old Testament is the earthly representation and a shadow of the the new. I don't see the old as a story book, I kind of see it as the the dispensation of the flesh and the new as the dispensation of the Spirit.

I see Joseph as a kind of Christ preparing a place for his people in Egypt.

I see Isaac as the church born out of love and the Jews as Ishmael.

I see Moses' snake as the true word of God and the snakes of Jannes and Jambres as having a form of the true word.

I see Abraham as a form of the father Isaac the son and Jacob the Holy Spirit.

I see Israel to mean conquering by the strength of God and more.

In the book of Deuteronomy, God was speaking with His covenant people, He commanded them to carry out their part of the deal. He was with them and His glory was rested on the mercy seat. But today God is not with us but in us, that is if we have His Spirit in us by believing the gospel of His son.

I think you have answered your question already....BELIEVES....that is the heart of the matter. Anyone who believes in Jesus has righteousness imputed in Him.....And BELIEVING Jesus means Believing all He says just like Abraham believed all God said too based on what God told Him. That is where the righteousness is.
Believing is NOT an EVENT, it is a WAY OF LIFE. And when you believe what Jesus says, you will with fear and trembling work it out. Will it not be strange to believe something yet go against the belief?

It is continuous and this is the working out our salvation we keep talking about. If you do not exercise what you believe, you lose it or it dies.

How do we exercise what we believed on if not by work, then work by obeying the LAW...........in Abraham case, he believed, (the word of God)......He worked (sacrifice of Isaac)...........also the law as (God ordered)...then it was counted to him as righteousness.

Righteousness is a gift bequeathed to family members when we are born into this new family. It confers legality on family members.
A sinner cannot be righteous because what makes you a sin is that you have the sin nature in you. Which is what Christ destroyed on the cross (the devil and his works). What makes you righteous is not that you are cannot sin again. It is that the sin nature has been destroyed and you have a gravitation towards the things of light and not darkness. Righteousness is a gift. It is not a reward.

Wow! Bro thanks but what does this bible verse explain with being righteous Gen15:6  And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness. Now I believe righteousness is from what we do, when you do what's right, you're righteous.......also we're not called to be righteous but unto Holiness.

ayoku777: Righteousness is a gift of grace that is imputed into the spirit of EVERYONE who has put is faith in Christ death and resurrection. It is a gift that is received by grace through faith, you can't work hard enough to get it or work less enough to lose it. Its not provoked by works or revoked by works. It is valid and stays so, even ever before you learn how to be led of the Spirit of God.

Its different however from perfection, perfection is when you begin to live out the life of Christ, this is dependent on fellowship with the Spirit and obedience to his leading. Righteousness is a stand, perfection is a walk; righteousness is a state, perfection is a journey. You don't grow in righteousness, but you grow in perfection. Conservatives mix up this two and condemn a believer who sins as being unrighteous. You can't be unrighteous even when you sin, its not work dependant, its a gift given. But perfection on the other, is also by grace but it involves what you do.

Every sin is a sin, no small sin no big sin, and the sin grieves the Holy Spirit alike. Every sin is an imperfection caused by our unreformed soul, but it doesn't revoke our righteousness or unregenerate our regenerated spirit in Christ.

The righteousness of Christ is what justifies us.
And he doesn't take it back each time we sin until we repent.

And we shouldn't even be overly concerned about sin or not sinning. We should focus on the glory of Christ, to behold it and to bring it forth. That will bring us unto perfection faster than any other method of making christians do right.
