What I actually cherished about Tinubu administration, is style of leadership, he knows the best decision to take to get Nigeria working again, that is why it doesn't bother about the second tenure all is after is to get Nigeria working that is why he had to make those though decisions.

The era of fuel subsidy is gone forever,so you don't expect the fuel cabals to fold their arms and do nothing ,is just like a criminal which only source of making money is stealing ,so no matter what a criminal person will always be a criminal,I know is just a matter of times, Nigeria will surely be better.how I wish all the governors can actually sit up and do something great with all the allocations there are recieving,do you see or hear any of the governors complaining about the president , because the president as already shoulder a lot of their burden.

This is exactly what I expected other governors which states are facing security challenges to emulate, that's the cooperation between all the governors in south west , that is why it remains the safest place in Nigeria ,the state governor can actually do better rather than waiting for the government at centre to do everything

PoliticsRe: Reno Omokri Calls Out Peter Obi For His Statement On Kenya by kingolu1(m): 7:06am On Jul 08, 2024
gidgiddy:
It's people like you that Reno can decieve. When Obi was Governor, he was notorious for being stingy. Anambra does not have up to 150 Igwe's. If Obi bought 400 SUV's for Igwe's, it means that each Igwe got at least 2 SUV's, many got 3.

Now how do you think that a notoriously stingy Governor gave Kings in his state as much as 3 SUV's?

Don't you think that if this had actually happened, it would be big news back then? The main opposition party, PDP, would have went to town to tell Anambrarians how APGA Governor Obi is wasting their money.

Obi bought 400 SUV's for Igwe's, that would have cost billions even back then, but none of us Anambrarians heard of this fantastic news. Something that would have been national news back then, only Reno Omokiri heard of it

Let's start using our brains in this country
Is that you people don't take read and digest before making any comments,400 SUV is the car model.

Why Nigeria’s Refineries Will Never Work – Obasanjo
Written by Leadership News 4 months ago Reading Time: 3 mins read

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said the four oil refineries in Nigeria will never work.

The four refineries are located in Warri, Port Harcourt and Kaduna.

Obasanjo said the refineries will never work as long as the government continues to hold onto them.

The former president who stated this in an interview with The Cable Online Newspaper, said Shell Oil Development Company turned down his offer to them to run the refineries.

He disclosed that after much persuasion the managing director of Shell, at the time, listed four reasons why the oil company wouldn’t get involved in running Nigeria’s refineries, including “too much corruption in refineries.”

Recall that President Bola Tinubu last month assured that the petroleum refinery in Port Harcourt will start working by December 2023.

Tinubu, had in a statement by former presidential spokesman, Dele Alake, in August, said the “Port Harcourt refineries will start production by December 2023 after the completion of the ongoing rehabilitation contract between NNPCL and Italian firm, Maire Tecnimont SpA.”

The President stated this when he met with labour unions at the State House in Abuja to halt the last nationwide protest.

Labour, had among other things, demanded the government’s commitment to getting local refineries to work, an objective that has gulped about N11.35 trillion in the last 10 years.

But responding to a question on the state of Nigeria’s refineries in the interview, Obasanjo said, “They will not work as long as the government is keeping hold of them. When I was president, I invited Shell to a meeting. I told them I wanted to hand over the refineries for them to help us run. They bluntly told me they would not. I was shocked.

“I repeated the request and they stood their ground. When the meeting was over, I asked their big man (MD) to wait behind for a little chat. Then I asked him why they were so hesitant on not taking over the refineries. He said did I want to hear the truth? I said yes. He listed four reasons. One, he said Shell makes its money from upstream and that is where its interest lies. Two, he said they only do downstream or retail as a matter of service. Three, he said our refineries would be bad business for them, that globally, companies are going for bigger refineries because of the economics of refineries. Four, he said there is too much corruption in refineries.

“I thanked him for his honesty. I knew we had a big problem in our hands. I had virtually given up hope on the refineries when God did a miracle. Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola approached me and said they would be interested in buying two of the four refineries. They said they would buy 51 percent stake in Port Harcourt and Kaduna. I was over the moon. I said, finally, this burden would be taken off the neck of the government. They offered $761 million and paid in two instalments. Unfortunately, Umaru (President Yar’Adua) cancelled the sale and returned the refineries to NNPC. Today, we are still where we were. Someone told me Tinubu said refineries would work by December. I told the person the refineries would not work. This is based on the information I received from Shell when I was the president.”

On the power sector, Obasanjo said “You can only get the power sector right when you get all the fundamentals in the power sector right. In 2006, we ordered 42 turbines that should have been completed if not by 2007 then in 2008. My target was 10,000 megawatts of power by 2007.

“Up till today, I understand that five of the turbines have yet to be installed. I have been out of the office for 16 years. If after 18 years when those turbines had been ordered, five have still not been installed, what are you talking about?”

This is Nigeria, any loophole to embezzle funds must be created, forget about the NNPC refinery it will nevertheless work as long as FG is involved

DeLaRue:
I think taking these important decisions before appointing ministers is very smart.

If he had Ministers in place, he would have had to consult them, and the Ministers would also need time to consult senior civil servants within their ministeries.

While the so-called consultations are going on, the powerful business and political cabals will have thrown big money at the Ministers to try and frustrate any policy change.

Right now, the cabals have only a stubborn president to contend with and dem no born them to say pim.

Mr Tinubu is a political genius.
Honestly you got it right, this was the best time ever to remove the subsidy, you really understand the logic, how I wish many people can reason without a biased mindset,am sure Tinubu we be the best President Nigeria as ever elect

jumper524:
Ireti was never the choice of the FCT people.
The Obidient movement took advantage of the people's love for Obi.
They took the FCT people for granted. The people of FCT were blinded by the Obidient crowd movement, and just like how celebrities felt betrayed on banky w, that's how the FCT locals felt on Aduda.
If election is to be reconducted again in Abuja, my friend yahaya who own a block industry would try as much as possible to denarket the labour party he once admired.
He had a positive intention of thinking obi is his candidate while Aduda of the PDP for senate, little did he know that the Obidients had an agenda of voting Eluu p from top to buttom.
Despite the voters education being melted out by the PDP in my ward, the LP party had over 300votes for presidency while having 263 for senate. The locals were betrayed, they were used and dumped by the crowd mentality.
Funny enough the APC came second with over 83 votes there. My vicinity used to be a pdp stronghold in the past, not even in 2015 did Apc win there.
This guy truly understand politics,Ireti was never there choice,if the election was held again,I bet you she would not come close near Aduda

Rights from on set Igbo has always been betraying themselves, all because of money, there fore father sold them to slave master all because of money, If you check the history of slaves trade in Nigeria, most especially west Africa, IGBO tribe were the highest in terms of slavery. The white were able to deceive them because of their system of ruling. Only the rich family is allowed to sit in the council meeting. Once you don't have a big farm, you have any influence. That is why it so difficult for the white to enslave the southwest and the North.
