You see the case of Toyota and Lexus parts theft, is due to the high demand for these cars and it's parts, and the resulting shortage of supply of the parts. The car parts dealers in Ladipo inform miscreants in Lagos who now roam around with the sole aim of vandalizing and taking away valuable parts of these cars.

In US, Honda is the most stolen and most vandalized car due to its high demand, coming from cheap ownership and maintenance by students, youths and teenagers and young executives and wannabe car enthusiasts and owners which results in shortage of supplies of car and parts.

In the early - mid 90's in Abuja, growing up, we had recurrent incidents of Mercedes Benz V-boot, flat boot and 190 car thefts and vandalized and parts thefts. I recall a neighbour across the street where I lived who owned a prefacelift E230 W124 sedan sky blue. He returned from work and parked his car as he would normally do. Everyone went to sleep only to wake up by morning to cries and shouts of the man wailing. We all ran to where his house was and discovered his car was sitting on 4 big stones, headlamps, turn signals, side mirrors, door cards, battery, tail lamp, wiper mechanism, wood trim pieces and radio were all missing. The car was stripped to almost bare metal.

Na now you talk, I would had made suggestions but my brother, my hands are tied because you spelt it here that the car had had electrical issues and it's ECU was at one point replaced. So no vex, lemme jump and pass.

I bought and installed another tokunbo entire throttle body about two months back but the code is still present. That's the only code I have on the ride when I scan it and I am so eager to get rid of it, because I suspect it's contributing to my fuel issue plus the erratic RPM shifts sometimes. Now I have two scenarios -

1. Could it be that the replacement unit is faulty? or

2. Is it possible that the code has been permanently stored on the ECU? Just so you know, I bought another ECU after I purchased the ride to solve the transmission issue and some other electrical faults.

That's how 1995 rav4 J behaves. It's absolutely normal

I always prefer Honda Accord interiors to a Lexus of same year

Your preference has nothing to do with the quality of fit and finish between a Honda and a Lexus.

Fact: A Lexus has a better fit and finish than a Lexus year for year.

You didn't mention if it's i4 or V6

A Lexus can give you peace of mind if you can maintain it, a Honda 2.4 4 cylinder can do same, a Toyota can do same. No go near Honda v6 or any Nissan from US after 2005 upwards.

Maybe in Lagos, but over here in Abuja, I know more than 8 people who have owned their corollas for more than 4 years each. And I still know 5 who sold their old corolla and bought recent models. No dey put blanket comment to rubbish one of the world's greatest cars of the 21st century.

Please help a newbie. My Honda civic doesn’t accelerate smoothly. When i try to accelerate after a stop, it drags before moving. When its in motion also, i also notice it drags while changing gear.
It was serviced recently and the gear oil changed with the attached.

My mechanic says might be the fuel pump or nozzle.

So the ones you will find in the open market have been used by the Yakuzas then passed to the public. But this car was so over engineered that you won't believe it has been used by three or four owners.

I think his major reason is the fact that Toyota is a robber's magnet.

So, Avalon is so expensive to maintain? Wow! I just learnt something new.

Avalon is NOT expensive to maintain, it's fuel economy is very closely matched to Camry 4 cylinder despite it being a V6. Personally, I'd say go for the best, go for the Avalon and enjoy the finest quality of the trio.
