Actually found that it was the brake booster hose that was cut.

I was having hard brake and engine misfire.

I hope replacing the hose will be a sufficient fix without having to replace the booster.

Replace hose leave booster. If after replacement, it's not okay, replace booster.

I have sort of concluded on getting a Highlander 2006 but stumbled on a write up where I read it has a timing belt NOT chain. This is making me have a rethink remembering what my Camry 00 did to me as far as snapping of timing belt is concerned. Infact I had promised never to buy any vehicle with belt.
Is there a Highlander with chain ? Is the 4 cylinder better ?
I ll appreciate expert advice and experience too

Buy the highlander, it's belt change duration is every 90,000mile interval, and it doesn't easily snap even when not done for long but I don't recommend such carelessness.
While doing the timing belt, do water pump replacement. RX330 use same engine as highlander 04-07. My own is 6years old and 194k miles presently, I just bought timing belt and water pump to replace as a preventive maintenance measure not that it's bad. Also, these parts could easily do 6years when you do brand new OEM and they are reasonably priced.
Avoid the 4 cylinder as its very lethargic in acceleration during long journeys and has the oil burning issue and also the issue of stripped head bolts s very well documented in that engine.

No, don't ensure he uses 2 cans. Every AC system have quantity and amount of gas needed to fully recharge that system. Usually it's found on a sticker on the bonnet.
If your technician is knowledgeable, he should read it and know the amount required by your system.

Depends on who he meets and the price of items. I know some R134a gas cost 5,000 for a small can and he needs like 2 cans. Some shops have and uses vacuum pump and electronic gauge, plus other gizmos. And you won't expect them to follow manufacturer's steps and use high end tools to run his system and take home a paltry 10,000.

The amount is subjective pls.

buying was the easy part, doing the install was the real headache.
took almost 3 days ( couple of hrs a day) to complete. Including sound deadening.But it was worth it

Bypassing the factory Amp for this car meant running fresh speaker wires from each speaker to the head unit,
powering the sub meant running a lead from the engine bay to the sub enclosure in the trunk, and so many other quirks.
I'll gather the energy to create the process thread one day.

Though, I am an audiophile, but my craze no reach your own. One headache I avoid is rewiring and rerouting of factory wirings for cars. In more complex cars, you'd get frustrated easily trying that. I recall a friend trying to do custom audio system in his Lexus. Mehn, the guy wept badly.

Lol, harmon kardon tuning is definitely not in class with Bose. Premium brands in the world use Harmon Kardon for a reason.
the stock setup in my car was a 10 speaker Bose system. The sound was manageable at best. I got rid of everything including the headset and kept only the tweeters..
My current setup is a Kenwood DDX9904s, two infinity kappas 62.11i ( Harman Kardon) in front and two JBL GTO629s in the rear, with a rockford fostgate sub.
Current sound is.... hehehe.
The only Portable Bluetooth speaker I own and have ever owned is the JBL Charge 4. So I guess that shows where my loyalty lies

It had no origin no history nothing to go for it. It's quality was bleh. That said, it's being reintroduced come 2022 although in hybrid form.

Lexus RX on the other hand has pedigree, history, was and is still ground breaking, is a better quality build fit and finish.
