In the world of today, technology is king and one of the most important technologies is our phones. You just can't deny that your phone(s) has in one way or the other been an important item in your life especially the younger guys but not exclusively the younger guys. The things you can do with a phone are unlimited but we're are only allowed to use them for hours or at most a day plus, no matter how many Mah a phone might have there is always a case of low battery. I agree that there are a lot of battery saving apps out there but at these apps can at most keep our batteries for minutes so I try not to bother myself with them. In today's post I would be sharing eight tips on How to extend your battery life. There are so many ways to extend your battery life but I'd be keeping it at eight. 1. Use Dark Wallpaper And Themes Using dark wallpaper and themes can extend your battery life(if your phone has an AMOLED screen) because AMOLED screens only light up colored pixels, black coloured pixels are not lit, so the more black pixels you have on your screen, the less battery needed to light them up hence more battery is saved. 2. Turn Off Auto Brightness As good as it may seem, don't use auto screen brightness. You would admit that using auto screen brightness makes your screen brighter than you need. Besides, if you check your battery usage stats you would notice that those 'huge screens' on your smartphones are huge battery suckers. It's better to manually set your screen brightness rather than letting your phones do all the work. 3. Update Your Apps Regularly Update your applications as much as possible. App developers constantly release updates for a reason and some of the reasons are improved memory and battery optimization. Also delete and Uninstall old apps you nono longer use, most of these apps run background processes that suck up your batteries. 4. Reduce Screen Timeout Screens of Android phones automatically dims and turns off after a while. It's advisable to set this interval as short as possible would have a great impact on your battery life. The shorter the timeout interval the more battery that is saved. 5. Turn Off Vibrate and Feedback Turn off vibration and feedback(vibration when you type) unless you need them. It takes more power to Vibrate your phone than it does to make it ring. It may seem cool but truly it does nothing other than kill your battery. 6. You Don't Have To Be Connected 24/7 Okay, this is the bitter truth, you really don't have to be online 24/7(we can make an exception for me tho'). Turn off features like 3G, WiFi, NFC, Bluetooth, GPS and Location when you don't need them. Also, turning your 3G and WiFi on at the same time makes almost no sense because you only need one at a time. 7. Make Use Of Battery Saving Features Almost all Android phones have a battery saving tool in the menu that helps conserve and save battery, mine has two, it has the power saving mode and Ultra Power Saving Mode, Sony has STAMINA mode and HTC has Extreme power saving mode. My ultra power saving mode limits usage to just messaging, phone calls and clock meaning I can only make calls, send and receive messages and check the time when I'm in this mode and this increases my battery life by hours. 8. Use ONLY Original Batteries Use only original, authentic batteries for your smartphone. If you use a fake battery then no matter what you do it would always be lacking. Buying a fake battery just because it is cheaper is one of the worst mistakes you can make because it MIGHT damage your beloved Smartphone and not to talk about the poor battery life. These are tips you can use to extend your battery life and get more out of your phone. If you know of any other tips that was not added here, don't hesitate to use the comment box below. |
Billyzone4:Get Cortana For Android phones here |
Digital Assistants are Application programs designed to make things easier for us, the things a Digital Assistant can do for you are just... Unlimited, from taking notes for example you can tell 'her' to remind you to get something from the store when next you go shopping. It can also serve as an alarm you can tell it to wake you up in two minutes and it would! They can also work as a unit converter. There are a lot of Digital Assistants out there but I'd list just five of them of because they are the "BIG 5" owned by big tech company. We've got Android's Google now Apple's Siri Microsoft's Cortana We also have Facebook's newly introduced M Oh! And lastly we have Amazon's Alexa If you look closely at the symbol of alexa you will notice that it bears a striking resemblance to Cortana, but I wouldn't be going into that. Allow me to stop there because if I were to list all the things you could do with a Digital Assistant I might end up not doing the tutorial anymore. I just wanted to have an idea of what a digital assistant is, at least for those of us that don't know. Now, to the main reason for writing this post. Personally, of all the Digital Assistants I prefer Google Now, but since we all have our different choices some might like Cortana better and would like to get Cortana on their Android devices and some like me just want get a taste of the two worlds. There are however a few limitations placed on the Android version of Cortana, for example you can not wake Cortana up by saying 'Hey, Cortana'. If you can live with that, then let's get on with it! To Get Cortana on your Android phones first download This file, Install and run it. You'd need a Microsoft account, if you have one Sign in and if you don't, Create a new account. After signing in, set up your Cortana on your phone and that's all. You would have installed Cortana on your Android device. Note: The app is still in its Beta testing stage so there are still a couple of bugs and glitches but it's nothing you can't endure. Source - Naijatechs.com

Few months ago, we heard news of an Android-powered Blackberry device that was set to drop. It started out as mere rumors but as time went on it started to look realistic as Leaked images and Leaked specs of the device started surfacing. Blackberry Venice Blackberry priv specs and images During the early stages, we called it the Blackberry Slider then later we got the codename Venice, but the real official name remained a mystery UNTIL NOW! Blackberry's first ever Android device codenamed Venice is expected to launch officially in a matter of weeks and until now we've known it by its codename Venice but it seems we may have its official name. According to long time tech tipster Evan Blass, a man who has been right on many occasions, it's going to be called Blackberry Priv. He said in a tweet: " At retail, Venice transforms into the...... Blackberry Priv" The name may sound odd and weird now but with tome we'd have no choice but to stick with it, or as Evan said in a tweet "Names always sound weird until they don't" He also went to say "if you survived the Nintendo Wii, you'll certainly acclimate Priv . Now to the pronunciation, we now know the official name but how do we pronounce it? Would it be Priv pronounced pryv as in PRIVACY? Blackberry has always been acclaimed for its powerful mobile security. Or would it be Priv pronounced Preev as in REPRIEVE? Could they be asking for one last chance? Or was it meant to rhyme with EXPENSIVE! Which is what most Blackberry phones are! The Venice Priv seems to be the last chance for Blackberry to prove that they're still worth the cash in our pockets, and also to win back users who ditched them for Android and Apple devices in the recent years. We may all be using HTCs, Samsungs, Infinix' and iPhones now but we cannot deny the fact that Blackberry introduced us to the world of Smartphones. In a previous post I highlighted a few specs of the Blackberry Venice oh, Sorry! I meant Blackberry Priv ![]() Source naijatechs.com |
veltany:Really?? I think Google is there for a reason.. |
This is an official warning from Naija Techs, WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT TYPE THIS INTO GOOGLE CHROME BROWSER! A bug has been found in Google's Chrome Browser, this string of characters can crash Your Browser when you click on it, mouse over it or enter it into your browser. Google Chrome browser bug When you click on "http://a%%30%30"( without the quotation marks) or enter it into your address bar and press enter could cause your current tab to close or crash the entire browser, taking anything you're working on with it! This link bug was discovered by Andris Atteka a security researchers from Latvia, he reported the bug to Google on 18th of September 2015. The computer geek found out that placing null characters at the end of URL causes Google's Chrome Browser to instantly choke after attempts to rationalize the Web address. Only the PC and MAC version of Chrome browser appears to be affected while the mobile version of the browser seem to bug-free. Typing the same characters into other browsers like Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari does not cause the same issue. No reward was awarded to Andris for discovering this bug as this was deemed to be only a DOS vulnerability. Google should be amidst fixing this bug but for Chrome users are advised to watch out for fake tweets, emails and messages tempting them to try the bug. I know you might be thinking "let me try it out and see what happens" because I did the same thing! When I heard about this bug first thing I did was try it out and see what it does. When I entered the link into my address bar and clicked enter, after a few seconds the entire browser crashed! So if you're willing to try it, I advise you save any work in progress first, or don't even try it at all. |
Truth be told.. This ain't worth the price.. I'd rather buy an Infinix Hot note 8mp back camera 2mp front camera 1gb RAM 16GB ROM 4000MAH battery with fast charge.. Instead if this.. 5mp back camera 2mp front camera 1gb RAM 8GB ROM 2000MAH battery And hot note is 24k or so.. .. |

The term 'non-removable' doesn't the battery can never be removed, what it means is that the battery can be removed readily like other phones, to remove the battery you'd have to meet a professional or if you're an expert in the field you can remove it yourself, there screws that hold the battery all you have to do is start loosing them NO BE ME SEND YOU MESSAGE O! I'm currently using a fone with a non-removable battery (HOT NOTE) and my experience with it has be super cool. The only problem with phones with non-removable battery is when the phone start to hang, you'd have to wait for eternity if that's when the phone decide to 'come back'. But in all the time I have been using my phone I haven't had thus kinda problem, the one time that my phone 'HANGED' the phone restarted itself after a few seconds. |
I just hope it ls not like the drone used in THE MESSENGERS ![]() |
