Google, one of the most recognised companies in the world is currently undergoing Rebranding. Google.inc would now be Alphabet.inc.

The move was announced on Google's official blog by Larry Page the CEO of Google - or should I say Alphabet?


According to the blog post, Alphabet would be an umbrella company that covers all the diverse division of Google. This breaks the current Google into several smaller companies all under Alphabet.

Divisions of the company like Calico (a division that focuses on increasing life span) would be autonomous and have individual CEO's.

Google has been "slimmed down" to include only Internet related Services like, Google Chrome, YouTube, Advertising, Android OS and of course it's Search engine

This allows for more managerial Flexibility, more accountability and more focus on the vast fields of the company.
Larry Page who was the CEO of Google would retain his position as CEO of Alphabet while his partner and Co-founder of Google Sergey Brin would be President of the new company.

Sundar pichai who was the product chief at the former Google would head the new Google as CEO while Susan wojcicki who was Google's first Marketing Manager and current head of YouTube would be CEO of YouTube.

Larry Page, in his article stated that the move doesn't unify all the divisions under Alphabet with one vision rather all the companies would be independent and develop their own brands.
He explained, "I should add that we are not intending for this to be a big consumer brand with related products - - the whole point is that Alphabet companies would have independence and develop their own brands"

He also said that Google.inc would be replaced by Alphabet.inc ad the Public-traded company and all shares belonging to Google would convert into the same amount of shares of Alphabet

If you ask me, I think I liked the name Google better, I don't Alphabet is going to stick.

Since the search engine retains its name as Google you don't have to worry about going around saying "Alphabet it" instead of "Google it".

I'm a kinda guy that likes to "Own what he owns".
I love modifying my phone to suit my taste, and one of the few things I customize is my font.
One of the reasons why I love the Android OS is its flexibility, it's easy to change and modify a lot of things on it to match your style, from installing Custom ROMs to changing your default launcher and also Changing your font.

Changing your default font is really helpful if you don't like the default font or if you just want to make your phone appear really cool.

Requirements:

To change your font you need to have ;
Root Access on your Android
Ifont.apk

If you have those two things, let's get to work! But if you don't, go Root your phone and Install I font from playstore.

Now we are ready!

The Beijing Police raided a Chinese company producing thousands of substandard "Apple iPhones", worth about 120 million yuan (19.3 million USD).

Nine people were detained in the raid by the Beijing Police, a total of more than 41,000 counterfeit iPhones and 66,000 cables was also found in the factory.

According to The statement released by the public security bureau in Beijing, The bust took place in May. (The statement was written in Chinese so I couldn't make sense of it, had to use my Google translate ).

Today I will be reviewing CPU-Z, this app does almost the same thing as Antutu benchmark both show informations about your phone, the CPU-Z does not benchmark your phone but it shows more in depth information about your phone.

With the CPU-Z you can know if your phone is an MTK phone, and also know a bunch of other things about your phone.

When you launch the app, you would see a huge MEDIATEK logo if your phone is an MTK phone.

The first page is about your Chipset. You would see how many cores your phone has and it also shows how the cores are working.


When you swipe your screen to the left Or click on System you see informations about your phone such as;

Phone Model

Manufacturer

Hardware

Android Version

Screen Size

Screen Resolution

Screen Density

Total RAM and Available RAM

Internal Memory and Available Space

And if your phone has Root Access too!


On the Third Page Battery you see stuffs about your battery like;

Battery health (What state your battery's in)

Battery Level (how many percent you battery's at)

Battery Status (If your battery's charging or not)

Today I would be reviewing AnTuTu benchmark. I found this app in the Tools section of Google play store which is where I get most of my Apps from because I like the idea of being able to do amazing things with my phone.

The antutu benchmark app, is one of the(if not the best) benchmarking Android app in the world.


What is benchmarking? : Benchmarking is the process of comparing your phone's performance with the performance of other phones.

But that's not all the app does.

The antutu benchmark also gives you a lot of information your phone.

When you launch the app you would see this page.

Antutu benchmark performance

You can click on the bring round "test" button to test your phone's performance. After the test is completed your phone would be benchmarked.
Click on ranking to see how well your phone did against other phones.

When you click on Screen test you can take a few more tests there, like the Multi touch where you can test how many touch points your phone has, the Color bar test where you test the colour brightness, tones and colour saturation.

When you click on Info you would see a bunch of information about your phone.

Antutu benchmark for Android


Basic Info - Here you will see your phone's brand, model, android version, CPU model, your Imei Number and other stuffs.
Storage - In this section you will see your SD card size and the available space on your SD card, Phone memory Size and available space on your phone, and you would also see your RAM size And surplus.
CPU - This section is meant for the geeky ones, many people don't care about what is powering their phones all they care about is that the phone is working perfectly. In this section you see things like your Chipset model and type, number of cores, frequency and there are more informations when you click "more".
Camera - I think we all know what this section is about, it is about your Phone camera specs, shows how many Megapixel your camera packs.
Battery - This sections includes information about your phone's battery level and temperature
OS - This part shows information about the phone's operating system like the Android version, Kernel version and Android SDK version
Sensors - Here you see the sensors your phone has like the proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Gyro, Light sensor ...

I personally think this app is cool and you should get it, when you know you phones capabilities you know how to use it.

I know I'm new in the blogosphere but from the few months I have been blogging. this is what I noticed

The major things many Nigeria bloggers lack are Creativity, Patience, Love for blogging.

Creativity - You say you have a blog and you can't write your own posts, always waking up in the morning looking for where to Copy and paste.

You need to have your own unique style. One thing about Nigerians is we like doing things a certain way so when we find a blog that has all we need we tend to stick with it, visiting it every morning to see if there are new posts.

To make them come to your blog instead of the blogs they love so much, you need to prove to them that you can offer something the other blogs can't offer "Uniqueness". If you copy and paste other people's posts they believe your blog is inferior and would never come back!

This happened to me, There was this blog I used to visit, I really loved the blog, the design was cool and the posts were supercool. I made it compulsory to visit the blog every morning when I wake up, but this all changed the moment I realized the posts I thought were supercool were actually copied and pasted. I don't think I visited the blog again after that

Patience - I see guys create a blog today and apply for adsense the next day and I ask them "If you were adsense, would you approve the application".. Who would want to place ads on a blog that has close to zero visitors.

I think the first six months of your blog, you should concentrate on improving your blog, doing SEO, Building a steady fan base so that when you finally decide to monetize it, it will be close to impossible to have your application rejected.

Love for Blogging - This is the most important attribute every blogger must have. If you don't have love for what you do, you won't strive to make it better. A lot of people have blogs for the sole purpose of making money. Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying you shouldn't make money with your blog but make improving your blog your priority and let the money be the reward for your hard work.
After all Love for blogging is the only thing that will keep you from packing up when you start to have low CPMs and lower visitors, but if you blogging only for the money, the moment things start to go south you immediately pack up your laptop and look for the next money making source.

If you lack all these attributes, I think it's better you just stick to being the post reader of the post writer!

Some phones naturally have speakers with Low volumes and some headsets aren't giving out as much juice as we want. Due to this highlighted problem I would be showing you how to increase the maximum volume of your Android devices and also max out the volume of your ear pieces and Headsets.

Note: This only works on MTK devices, so if you don't use anMTK device please move on to the next post or read on if you wish.

Let me dedicate the first part of this post to explaining what MTK is, you might have heard about MTK devices or MediaTeK Phones, wondering what they are? You might think they were phone manufacturers like Samsung (I used to think that!).


MediaTeK Is a leading IC design company. It specialises in manufacturing of Micro Chips for mobile communications(phones and tablets), home entertainment(TV's DVD's) and Connectivity(WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC).

Some of the Android Phone Makers that make use of MTK chipset include; TECNO, INFINIX, GIONEE, ELEPHONE, ITEL, INNJOO etc.

Now, you should have an idea of what MTK is, so let's continue with the tutorial.

To increase the maximum volume of your MTK Android device you need to have MTK engineering mode installed on your phone.

I know those of us that change our IMEI number would surely have it but if you don't go to Google Playstore and Install MTK engineering mode.

After installing the app, Launch the app.

• Click On MTK Settings.

• swipe left until you see Hardware Setting

• SelectAudio.


To Increase the maximum volume of your loudSpeaker


• Select LOUDSPEAKER MODE

You should see Max Vol.0-160

Increase the value there.

the higher the value the louder it is.


NOTE:Keep it below 150 to avoid damaging your speaker.

• Select HEADSET MODE.

A 23 year old German Gaming Addict has been fined after he sedated his girlfriend, The Local reports.

On an evening in August Last year, the man (name withheld) was playing video games with a friend when his girlfriend came back from work.

After ten long hours at work, She was hoping for a peaceful evening rather than being constantly disturbed by the sounds of Automated Machine guns and commentaries of a football match.

I only dropped four or five drops in her tea, the man told the court as he admitted to the Crime

His (now ex) girlfriend was knocked out for over twelve hours after she drank the spiked tea and she woke up at midday the next day.

Then I got up and drove to work although I was nodding off again and again, The 24 year old Girlfriend told the Judge.

She Also added that the boyfriend was on drugs at the time. Which was one of the reasons for their break-up shortly afterwards

An analysis of her hair showed that she had been under the influence of the drugs just once, which was when her boyfriend sedated her.

Your girlfriend sleep long and deeply, which didn't harm her but this is certainly a premeditated bodily harm. The judge said as he fined him $555.

"It was stupid, but I'm on a straight path now" the boyfriend said, also adding that he had been off drugs for 10months and would soon begin an apprenticeship.

Let's be sincere, It's really Ugly...

Android pit reported that the popular instant messaging app might
adopt a few features like the IMAGE LIKE and MARK AS UNREAD
BUTTON from its parent company Facebook in its coming updates.
The report did not say whether the features would be available in
the next update.


Image like for WhatsApp

According to a tweet by whatsApp beta tester Ilhan pektas one of
the few features to be expected in future updates is a like button
for images, indicating that WHATSAPP users would be able to like
profile pictures of their friends and also like images shared in
groups as well.

The tweet stated;

Which is in German language but when translated into English
language with Google translate .

It means ;

Like button for divided image in WhatsApp #Cool


Mark as unread for whatsapp

One of the other few improvements we might see in coming
updates is the option to mark a message as unread.

What this means is that, after reading a message you can mark
that message as unread, so the message would still appear as an
unread message.

This works for those awkward moments when you receive a
message from someone and don't want to reply, when you use the
Mark As Unread option the person who sent the message wouldn't
get the blue ticks that shows that you have read the message.

The mark as unread feature was first seen on an internal
WhatsApp document leaked on a Spanish website Adslzone.net .

The document showed the mark as unread feature being
discussed.


My thoughts on these Features

These features are pretty impressive but I don't think they should
be implemented.

The problems I have with the updates are;


The New Likes Feature

This new feature is really nice but I think it will cause depression
and Low self esteem just as it does on Facebook.

When you upload a new profile picture and don't get a lot of likes
you start to feel depressed and jealous when you see your friend
getting tons of likes on their pictures.


Mark as unread for whatsapp messages

This feature is also a good one but I think it's going to reduce the security of your
chats.

Anybody can easily read your messages and use this option to hide
his tracks.

And when check it you still as unread and you believe no one has read your messages.


Regardless, they are pretty useful.
As I said earlier, there are no guarantees that these features would
make it to the next update.
