Tecno mobile have recently launched Tecno L8 Plus, the device is an improved version of the recently launched Tecno L8. Those that have used or bought the Tecno L8 can testify that the battery is just...Wow..
I recently played with it(not for long tho') and I've got to say the battery is worth all the hype it got.

The Tecno L8 Plus comes with the same specs as the regular Tecno L8: same size(5.5 inches), same 5050 mah battery capacity, same Android version(Lollipop 5.1).
The only area that was improved is the RAM, the Tecno L8 Plus comes with a larger 2GB RAM size unlike the Tecno L8 which came with 1GB RAM.

I wonder who reminded Tecno that 1GB RAM phones are going out of style.

If you like the Tecno L8 and you have N32,500 to spend but you think 1GB RAM is too small for you, you can conveniently get the Tecno L8 Plus and enjoy its massive 5050 mah battery.

Recently, for some unknown reasons I have been crazily addicted to playing Candy crush, a game I used to hate and classified as a lady's game.
I can't go one hour without playing it now.

However, one thing I hate about the game is having to wait for thirty minutes to get a live. You know how many levels I would have cleared in that time?

This torture continued for a while until I concluded that I was going to find my way around it and I did!

I'll try to make this short because my battery is low and I want to publish it before I sleep.

To get full lives on candy crush without waiting one second all you have to do is change your phone's time to a future time.

For example, if my lives on candy crush empties around 3:23, originally I'll have to wait thirty minutes to get one life.
The trick here is pushing your phone time to when next you'll get a life.
For example, if you change your phone's time to 3:53 you'll get one life(skipping the thirty minutes you'd have had to wait) and if you push it about three hours ahead, you'll get a full set of lives.

Now I enjoy my candy crush without any hindrances using this trick.

Please do not generalize YOUR problem.. I've been using an Infinix Device for over a year now with zero complains and no repairs whatsoever.. So don't say Infinix sell substandard products, you just weren't lucky... Besides I see someone also had the same problems with a Samsung Tab... Would you say Samsung sell substandard devices too?

Daily Plans

There are two data plans in this category.

Just as Donald Trump said in his book, "The Art Of The Deal", "There is rarely such a thing as a great deal ". Yea I know, that was weird I just quoted Donald Trump.. He was right though, when deals appear to be too good to be true, in most cases they are!

This is something a chinese man experienced first hand.

He ordered for an iPhone 6S online at a great price of 1500 yuan (around $230), this is about 70% off the actual price of an iPhone 6S!

He got his order but when open it, he saw nothing more than a PANCAKE!!!

If the guy was in the mood for jokes, he could have at least appreciated the time it took the scammer to prepare the pancakes...... Hehe

Now, after reading this you'll see it isn't just in computer village that people get scammed! And this isn't the only case, there was a case of a woman who bought a laptop for $250 but got a bundle of paper, then there's another lady that paid $180 for a wooden iPhone!

And on eBay, a man paid $450 for a MacBook but he got.......... Just a picture of the MacBook!!

I have overstressed this and I would say it again, if you're buying ANYTHING, be sure to inspect it right there at the point of sale so that you don't buy an iPhone stuffed with fufu..

We've often heard about hackers stealing personal data of millions of users, hitting retail stores, banks and sometime last year they even went as far as hacking the US government stealing millions of fingerprints records in the process.

But I don't think we've ever heard of hackers trying to steal $1 billion, I mean, that is really huge. However, What is more shocking is not the magnitude of the attempted hack but the fact that it was spoilt due to one olodo hacker that can't spell right.

Hackers steal $1 billion from Bangladesh

Rather than busting ATMs or stealing bank details of unsuspecting customers, this group of really clever hackers managed to penetrate the security of the Bangladesh Central Bank and got their hands on payment transfer credentials. The Central bank of Bangladesh holds an account worth billions of dollars with the federal reserve bank of New York which it uses for international transactions.

With the credentials, the hackers sent almost three dozens transfer request from the account to various organizations in Sri Lanka and Philippines, many which are said to be non existent.

Four transfer requests went through and everything was going smoothly but then, the fifth transaction worth $20 million was held because of a typo(misspelling). The hackers misspelled foundation for fandation. This little error not only held up the transactions but it also alerted the Deutsche bank which immediately notified the Bangladesh central bank.

The Federal Reserve Bank then notified the Bangladesh bank of the huge number of transfers, all other transactions were held up as well. The bank was able to stop upto $870 million from being transferred. The hackers however still made away with millions of dollars.
They have been working with anti-laundering authorities in Sri Lanka and Philippines looking to recover some of the stolen money.

The hackers are still yet to be identified.

I'm just wondering what the rest of the group would do to the guy that made the error, I mean, We're talking abiout 1 billion dollars here, they certainly won't let him off easily.

The Samsung S-series devices are one of the most anticipated devices of every along with iPhones, I really can't say which of them is more anticipated tho'.

In the currently ongoing Mobile World Congress MWC 2016, Samsung unveiled their Flagship devices of the year which is the Samsung S7 And Samsung S7 edge.

There are two phones this year, the 5.1 inch Samsung Galaxy S7 And the 5.5inch Samsung S7 edge, there will not be a Samsung S7 edge plus(I always thought the name was weird anyway.)


They look similar to the previous S6 and S6 edge, Samsung just took what was already a good phone(the Galaxy S6) and fixed its major flaws to make the Galaxy S7.
It now has a curved back which allows for a better grip and makes it more comfortable in your hand.
It is also now fully IP68 water and dust resistant.

It comes in four colours this time, Gold Platinum, Silver Titanium, White Pearl and Black Onyx(not Blue).

The Samsung Galaxy S7 And Samsung Galaxy S7 edge are now 1mm thicker to accommodate a larger battery, the Galaxy S7 now has a 3000mah battery while the galaxy S7 edge is 3600mah.

Other improvements include the camera bump and the home/fingerprint button which are both flatter now.
The camera of the galaxy S7 was also improved, it now comes with a 12MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture and a really fast auto focus.

For the processor, the Samsung Galaxy S7 And Samsung Galaxy S7 edge runs on the snapdragon 820 processor and has a 4GB RAM but that option is only available for users in the US. For users outside the US, their S7 And S7 edge would run Exynos 8890 with 4GB RAM also.
One major addition to the Samsung Galaxy S7 And Samsung Galaxy S7 edge is the micro SD slot which was absent in the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge.

Also, there's a new option called the 'always-on' option which shows you the time and date at all times even with the screen locked.

The device may seem perfect but just like every other thing created by man, it has it flaws.

Slippery - The device is sooo smooth and has the tendency to slip off your hands which might cause damage to your device.

Fingerprint marks - The Samsung Galaxy S7 And Samsung Galaxy S7 edge has a really glossy feel and as such fingers leave an imprint on it when touched.
The prices of the Samsung Galaxy S7 And Samsung Galaxy S7 edge are currently unknown.

In all, I think Samsung Galaxy S7 And Samsung Galaxy S7 edge are awesome devices, I particularly love the added SD Card option as it gives you more disk space to save your movies, songs and space hoarding games.

Earlier this week, news of a $4 Android Phone spread around all major blog like GEEK NG, Yomiprof.com, Android Authority and many more..
You might wonder why I didn't write a post about it, the reason is pretty simple I didn't believe it and I decided to chillax for a bit and see what happens.

Just as I guessed, it turns out the $4 smartphone is actually a shady deal.
There was a crazy rush for this device as many people thought it was a good deal. However, now that the device is reaching people, it's looking completely different from the device that was promoted.

When you pull the device out of the box, first thing you notice is that a 'Tipp-Ex like' material covering the manufacturers name. That's when you start to feel something is wrong.

Scratching off the covering, you find out that the device isn't a freedom 251 but a device made by a company called Adcom, the Adcom Ikon 4.

After complaints were raised to Ringing Bells the supposed phone manufacturer and they made changes, not to the device but to the website!

Other mysteries include that the Adcom Ikon 4/Freedom 251 looks like an iPhone and to make it worse, some of the app icons are directly gotten from iOS like the browser icon which is exactly the Safari icon.


Funny enough, Adcom denies having knowledge of their device being used for such purpose.

In the meantime, Ringing bells is telling people not to worry that the device they have received is just a 'preview of the actual freedom 251'... Can you imagine??

With the current epileptic state of power in Nigeria and the exorbitant prices of data plans, there is need to save your battery and keep your data consumption to the lowest minimum.

AVG, An Antivirus maker recently released a list of battery draining, data consuming apps that you should probably consider uninstalling from your device.

The Facebook app ranked Number 6 in the list of battery draining apps and Number 1 in the list of data hogging applications.
According to them, Unistalling Facebook from your devices will make them 'noticeably' faster and your battery would last a 'bit' longer.

Knowing that no one would want to remove Facebook app from their devices, I came up with a way to walk around it.

All you have to do is Unistall the regular Facebook app and install the lighter version of FACEBOOK LITE.

Not all does this increase your phone's speed and save your battery, it also uses less storage space as the app is just 554KB.

If you check my phone, you would not see the Facebook app, just Facebook lite.

The user interface of the Facebook lite may not be as good as the regular Facebook app but t it does the job well and it's still in blue and white colours like the normal Facebook app so I guess that should be manageable... LOL
One other added advantage of using the Facebook Lite is that you don't have to separately install Facebook messenger app to send messages as you normally do on the regular Facebook app because you can directly send and receive messages with Facebook lite.

So..... Save your battery... Conserve Your Data ... Install Facebook lite today!

It is a known fact that when the dollar - Naira exchange rate increases, prices of things generally tend to spike.

We are currently experiencing an all time low as the Naira is coming really weak against the US dollar and as is normal, the prices of things have started to increase drastically.For example the domain name for Naijatechs.com which I initially bought for ₦1,750/yr, I got an email earlier this week announcing that it now costs ₦3,000/year.
Products that are imported or bought abroad such as our Mobile phones are usually at forefront of the price increase.
