lightnlife: Global relevance is more about skills than certificates.
What skills do you have?
YouKay has a Skilled Worker Visa (Tier 2) programme which offers you a chance to relocate with your family if your skill is needed here. Search for Occupational Shortage List and read up more about. Tech and Medicine are the two topmost employers of foreigners into the UK at the moment.
There are other means - Global Talent visa, Study visa, etc.
Google is your best friend. There are a couple of relocation threads on Nairaland as well. I do not have any skill for now...What do you advice? |

People with good intentions are denied while those that want to Japa are given visa. The Eco s are really incompetent. An thinking of applying again, still contemplating of applying or may be forget it. What is life like for him over there now? Do you still keep in touch with him. I ask coz I want to really know how they cope over there knowing fully well they have over stayed. |

ednut1: truck driving is not part of skilled trades. The occupations eligible are listed on the ircc website. You need to be inside Canada to get certification and they wont give you visitors visa for that. Its work permit holders, students or pr already in Canada that can do that. Job offer- only grace of God can help because most of the employers want someone in Canada already. So you may apply for 5000 jobs and maybe see one wey to gree or none. Shai! This is so tight. So what can my OND do for me in FSWP then. Do I stand any chance? |
Travel › Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by kizonero(m): 5:47pm On May 24, 2022 |
ednut1: the scheme is not realistic for most Nigerians thats why you wont see the thread. It requires a job offer or licensing in Canada. Getting either of them is a tough ask. The chinese, indians and Philippinoes dominate that space as they have companies and use it to bring in their people. Unfortunately Nigerians are not strategic or communal abroad most times so cant use these things. Well said. But I love to try and see the out come. Apart from truck driving Collins mentioned, what about forklift operator, and someone with a knowledge of electrical. Is there a chance? How can one get either the "Job offer" and "certification in Canada" in Canada. I read somewhere that FSTP does not require any education background. What about someone who has OND, does it add to boost once chance. |

I just checked my result for the IELTS UKVI test I wrote on the 11th of May, 2022.
L - 7.0 R - 7.0 W - 7.0 S - 6.0 Overall band - 7.0
Can I apply for the job with this type of score?
I want to apply for the Home Care Worker Visa, I do not have prior experience in this field.
Could someone please help with the step by step guidelines on how to go about applying for the job?
I'll appreciate a response, thanks guys. Hello friend, how much did it cost you for the exam? Before the exam what other documents do u have ready? My head is full and a bit confused in this HACW visa thing. I have no experience at all in caregiving stuff. I just looked at it, since it's a best way to be uk legally for work, let me give it a try. But I don't know where to start from. Please anybody in the house whom have successfully move to uk through this route, should please enlighten us more. Especially how to begin the whole process. Thank you all |

I have been living here(London, UK) for 3yrs now and despite the fact that I have a good job and living relatively well, I still have a consistent feeling about moving back home. Everything and everyone that I know is back home. Also, I do honestly feel like I will live better in Abuja(pay less bills ). But I am scared I might regret my decision down the line.
I know for sure I cannot be the first to have such thoughts or doubts so I wanted to post here to hear from people. Please comment if you have some experience.

Self service is free. Assisted service is about 12k naira. U dnt need tb test for visit visa. So what did u pay for? Well said. Please I need to get this clearer. Self Service u said is free and one can only do the documents uploading himself or herself while Assisted Service, all documents will be in A4 size and TLS will do the uploading themselves at a fee of about 12k. Now I want to know, is there going to be a payment to do at TLS on the appointment day, if I chose Self Service. That is after doing all the documents upload at home myself free. Ayomide5651: The immigration officer asked the reason I was there. I told him for vacation, he asked for my return ticket I gave to him. He said where would I stay that night, I showed him my hotel reservation. Then he asked if I had a credit card I told him no, then he asked for my wallet to see if I had cash, and I gave it to him. He asked me to thumb print, I did the first time, he said I should clean my hand on my forehand and place on it again which I did. Then he asked if I was working, I told him yes, he asked is it a good job I said yes, After that I saw him writing from my passport. He just told me to take a seat that he would be back. He came back then told me I’ll be interviewed. He was asking me questions and I was answering according to what was in my application. Tho an agent appied for me, I’m 22years. But from the interview it was obvious I wasn’t working there. Then I was told I have to return to where I was coming from that I didn’t get my visa genuinely. That was what happened Sorry about the situation AY. The Lord is your strength. Agents have done more harm than we can imagine. It's time we do away with them. The major thing they are after, is the money. Whatever is the outcome of the visa good or bad o, is none of there business. If one devotes his time and not being lazy, one can actually do this visa thing perfectly without any so called agent. As far as you can read, understand and write. The joy of it is that when u handle this visa application yourself, you won't be scared of any interview coz you know exactly what you filled in and can answer any question being thrown at you. Nairaland is here for us and God will continue to bless those that initiated it and to all the gurus past and present that has taken ther time one way or the other to help out too. I believe the agent might have filed information different from what you answer at the POE. Maybe he didn't supply the whole details to you. How much was in the wallet you gave to the immigration officer? And what was the total budget for the trip? How many days stay? |

giselle237: if you feel your chances are shaky at the moment or complicated as you termed it, why then must you apply now? There’s no point going back and forth on the thread on the same circumstance. Nobody is an eco here to be honest with you, you have been given advice based on what ppl feel, the onus is is left on you to convince yourself first before convincing a visa officer. If you feel convinced, go for it.. if not, then wait more. There is no hard and fast rule. You can do a lump sum and then continue the normal way with saving accordingly the ffg months, then not printing off the month with the lump sum or not do it at all.. there’s no way to tell if the visa will be granted. Your overall circumstance will be looked at, what will make this person come back. Thank you very much for your advice. Noted!. I actually not planning to apply now. Just trying to gather enough information as I can get now. You guys are really doing great work here. God bless As for those whom are fond of so called agent for Everything they want to do, be warned now or get ruined later. You can actually do it yourself and I believe I can do it myself too. Nairaland is here for me and I don't know about you . A very close friend of mine was banned 4yrs ago by UK for forgery documents. Our so called agents have done more harm than you can imagine. AmeliaT: Everything looks good but make sure your cover letter is strong, you’re clear on what you’re going for and you also include your budget. Do not start with a zero balance. But I also believe that apart from the 1.8m, you should have a savings account. My husband’s current account didn’t have much- it was just about 2m- similar to yours but he submitted our savings account as well which had about £25k. He even submitted the one year statement showing consistent inputs in the account and zero withdrawals. So, make sure you also have a savings account as that truly legitimizes your claim of leading a great career. Married? Add marriage certificate and bio data of spouse and explain what your spouse does and your entire family situation.
My husband’s cover letter explained- the nature of his business, number of staff who rely on him for monthly salary, also reinforced his monthly revenue and even stated they have an expansion plan etc. Thanks a lot for responding. I have heard what you said, just that my case is somehow complicated with this bank statement thing. I am kind of scared with it coz all the refusals I have been seeing here are mostly based on it. And if one does not get it right, then it will be a total waste of time and money. I need to be open on this. The two accts I have are savings. The second one i don't have much on it. But I run it all the time with a lot of deposits and withdrawal. Betting activities and other transactions. I would not want to use that for the visa stuff so I opt to use the other acct that doesn't have much activity on it but with a zero naira balance. My plan is to start using it to save that amount(#385,000) for 7 or 8 months then I will print 6months statement and use for the application. That was why I asked earlier if I can lodge in some money then the following month I will start saving the #385k salary. For the marriage question, I am still single. So no marriage certificate. Does this limit my chances? What role does cover letter really play? Thank you |

Good evening great men and women in the house, i appreciate you all for your endless effort in answering our questions here. May God continuly bless you all. I have read and read and still reading. And I will be asking questions from time to time until mission accomplished. Pls do not be offended.
BANK STATEMENT THINGS
Pls kindly check below my proposed analysis on that aspect and tell me if I score 10/10..
Monthly Income - #385,000 Monthly expenses - #70,000 Disposable Income - #315,000
That is to say in six (6) months x DI =
#1,890,000
Budget Expenditure (BE)
Flight - #380,000 Entertainment - #100,000 Transportation - #80,000 Little shopping - #50,000 Accommodation - free (as I have a host) Feeding - free (as my host will handle that)
TOTAL - #610,000 (BE)
That is to say that my 2months DI is in agreement with my BE....
Please what is your take on the above.
Again, I want to ask, can I start this acct building with a zero open Balance or I should lodge in some money then start the following month?
I am being concerned as ECO may want to read a different meaning to that how come I claim to be working for years yet started with a zero open acct.
(2) For the UK visit visa documents I have,
* Employment letter from employer * Leave letter * Introduction letter * Recommendation letter from employer * Scanned copy of passport data page * Employment ID card * Scanned copy of my UAE expired evisa * Scanned copy of Ghana and UAE stamp * Bank Acct Statement for 6months * Payslip for 6months

Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by kizonero(m): 3:01pm On Feb 20, 2022 |
AmeliaT: Hiya, No worries.
1 X2 just means two times. X4 = Four times. If your statement shows you receive 10m income within 6 months, ideal thing is to pro rate by multiplying by 2 to get the annual income. I.e. 20m.
2 If you earn 500k a month, your budget should ideally not exceed your 2 month income i.e. 1m. People have been rejected and the reason given was that the budget for the trip was equal to 4 month's of their income which the ECO believed was too much to spend on a trip.
3 If you're staying with a friend, you will need to signify this on the form, including their name, home address, phone number and email address. The friend will also send an invitation letter, copy of their passport data page as well as a copy of their leave to remain if they're not a citizen. If possible, their mortgage/ownership docs or tenancy agreement (if they agree as those are sensitive documents) to show they have a means to truly accommodate you. The friend may also be called to verify their relationship with you.
I hope this was helpful! All the best! Wow! You are wonderful. Thank you so much. It helps. Just that I still want to ask a question base on that number three. What if I decide to book for hotel reservation to pay on arrival for the tourist visa, but then i decide to sleep in a friend's place over there. Mind you it's tourist visa without any invite. Is it possible? Lastly, what is the PTA fee like? Will it be required and how do I go about it and how much is it? Thank you once more for your time Amelia |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by kizonero(m): 1:27pm On Feb 20, 2022 |
AmeliaT: Sorry about this. Refusal is straight forward. I see 3 issues.
2million annual income is too small. Your statements didn't correlate with the claimed income. Your statement doesn't have the required volume and sustainability so you don't come across as someone earning enough to afford this holiday and return.
The profile looks fishy. You have two rejections; a third one could be dangerous.
Two day course will signal desperation and deception. Retain your tourist visa but only when your circumstances have changed significantly. Build your travel history before going back. The UK is NOT the end all, be all. I have been to 36 countries by God's grace and was born/lived in England for many years and I can tell you it isn't in my top 20 or even 30 countries. I only go back `because it is home- family responsibilities, health maintenance and shopping. Otherwise, The UAE, South Africa, Qatar, Barbados, The Bahamas etc. offer way much more fun and excitement.
My Tips 1 Pay yourself a salary into your personal account every month and that should be the primary income there. Obviously, the salary should be a logical amount that's healthy and not eroding your business revenue/profit. 2 You Should present the personal and business account but make sure your business account is active on CAC. 3 Do not resort to inflation, sending through large deposits within the six-month period. 4 Spend as you normally would in your personal account, leaving some each month so that is accumulated to a healthy balance. 5 Review the statement first before you indicate your income, expenditure, and budget. Make sure the annual income matches the statement income. Annual income should ideally be X2 of your 6month statement. The expenditure should also follow the same principles. 6 Budget for the trip should ideally not exceed 2 months’ income. There is no hard and fast rule about this, but people have been rejected for a budget that was X4 their income. 7 However, ensure this budget covers your entire trip. Breakdown flight, accommodation, food, transport and a little bit for shopping and entertainment (not mandatory). Below is my personal budget guide which I came up with myself and is by no means prescriptive, but you can review, and tweak as needed. This will help guide to ensure your budget, length of trip and available balance are all in sync. Flight- £564 Accommodation- £50/Day (unless you’re staying with a friend) Food- £20/day Transport- £10-15/day
Optional Shopping- Variable Entertainment- Variable 8 I personally advise that you try to ensure that the available balance in your account is 2X the budget for the trip. Because they expect that you have funds to go back to when you get back home. So, you can use your available balance to work backwards to see the budget you have available for the trip and therefore the number of days you can afford to stay. Others have gotten their visa with a 500k balance but it’s better safe than sorry.
These are my thoughts and of course there have been exceptions to the rules, both positive and negative. All the best! @ameliaT, you have really been of great help here. Providing all the necessary information, I really appreciate. And to other gurus in the house, I appreciate you all. Pls I am kind of a slow learner, but I understand very well if broken well for me. Pls can you explain further to me on number 5&6. What do you really mean by X2 & X4 ? Secondly, in terms of accomodation, u said " unless you are staying with a friend". I want to know, does it mean that that friend, will send an invite. Or how? Pls explain this further for me. Thank you for reading. Happy Sunday to you all |

kizonero: Good evening great men and women here. I most say I am really really impressed by the work done here...May God continue to bless you all abundantly.
Anyways I am a silent reader right from day one. And I just picked interest in this UK visit visa and I will like to give it a try hoping by his grace I will scale thru. Like they always say, every traveller started from somewhere. I started with Ghana and UAE in 2019, a week and two weeks stay respectively.
Now I want to plan towards adding UK to my travel experience and her Visa to my passport. Having read some of the stories here on people's experience, I observed that most of the visa rejections are mostly Bank Acct statement related. And I wouldn't want to after getting all the guidelines here, mess up.
Please superiors in the house, I would like you to carefully look into this my idea of trying to build my bank account statement, then after 6months I will apply.
"A million naira lodgement in my acct this month, then as from March ending, I will be receiving a salary of 200k thousand naira each month for 7months. Atleast I will be saving 150k each month from it. And there won't be any lodgement of money higher than the 200k salary in that 7months". This is what I planned to discuss with my boss. I hope it serves me good superiors in the house for a stay of 7-10 days?
2) Secondly, this is where I seem to be confused. The pages I have read so far on this thread, I haven't seen anyone sharing the Documents they submitted for UK visit visa(tourism), where can one go for the submission e.g VFS kind of service or Is it being done online. Please I need detailed information on how to obtain the form and do the processing. The things required for the visa etc
Thank you superiors. I await your various reply Good afternoon great men and women in the house, i appreciate you all for your endless effort in answer our questions here. May God continue to bless you all. I understand the fact that ever since I asked the above question, no one has tried to provide an answer to it, I quess because of its silly in nature ... Anyways, that has made me to read a bit further down, and I am getting the clear picture of the whole thing, but not all. (1) Concerning the Bank acct statement building for 6 months, pls carefully check my analysis on that aspect below and tell me if I score 10/10.. Monthly Income - #385,000 Monthly expenses - #70,000 Disposable Income - #315,000 That is to say in six (6) months x DI = #1,890,000 Budget Expenditure (BE) Flight - #380,000 Entertainment - #100,000 Transportation - #80,000 Little shopping - #50,000 Accommodation - free (as I have a host) Feeding - free (as my host will handle that) TOTAL - #610,000 (BE) That is to say that my 2months DI is in agreement with my BE.... pls gurus in the house is my analysis okay Thank you (2) For the UK visit visa documents I have, * Employment letter from employer * Leave letter * Introduction letter * Recommendation letter from employer * Scanned copy of passport data page * Employment ID card * Scanned copy of my UAE expired evisa * Scanned copy of Ghana and UAE stamp * Bank Acct Statement for 6months * Payslip for 6months Lastly, TLS handles services for UKVI...
