Anyone who has managed a project will tell you how the best laid plans often fall to shit during execution.

Actualizing a project on time is really all about preparation and doing your homework.
Planning for failures and obstacles is also part of preparation. Yes I know sometimes you cant plan for every outcome that is why some people give themselves extra time beyond the expected completion time for a project.
If the government had completed the projected, even if it this year they will still be applauded, they still might be applauded anytime the project is completed but for now it's not a good sight

I have discussed some of these in other threads previously.

The project is a world Bank funded project. It is funded in tranches. Every tranche has to be guaranteed by the fg. The fg at that time. Gej administration delayed in guaranteeing the second tranche.

As stated, the project is in forex. Any project financed in forex or imported materials will be impacted by Rises in the cost of forex. The rise of forex 2014 2015 2016 impacted the project delivery. There were a lot of back and forth with ccecc

Repeated strikes. In the Badagry trade fair axis, there was constant friction between the workers and ccecc. They were always going on strike

Brownfield. Projects in built up areas are always difficult

All I see are excuses. The strikes, the high rate of foreign exchange, they are all the government's fault. Every falls at their doorstep. See my brother, if these were to be personal project they would have finished long ago. Look at the Dangote refinery, see the speed at which it's moving because they al have stakes in it. Some politicians complete a 10storey hotel in less than a year, some build mega schools outside the country in less than 2yrs.
So bros eh make we just forget someof these things. If they wan do am they go do am.

It says a lot about the Nigerian Youths if we can't take our time to read before commenting.
As for the Light rail 2022 is a feasible date IF they really want to do it.
But it's quite disheartening that we couldn't complete a mere 27km rail project in almost 9yrs.

This is no longer a new thing. My only question is when would we have had enough. When will it be that we will call our politicians bluff. When will we be truly independent of the pre-independent cabals.

My fear is that we the Nigerian Youths are too lax and willing to do anything of note. We are too dependent on these politicians and therefore are unwilling to upset the our apple cart.
When we are ready to unite, forgetting all forms of division that the politicians have used to cause divisions in us then we will move forward as a country.
For now let's keep collecting 3K and doughnut and wallow in regret and self pity.

What is that moment that made you realise that you are now an adult or you have reached the age to do something important.

Mine was when I came home during my second year 1st semester holiday.

I was trying to sneak of at night to go and watch champions league when my dad just said "If you're going to watch ball, you should take the front door key so you will not didturb us when you get back". I was beyond shocked.

2) My father is a church worker, not just any worker oh but head usher.
As I dey waka I just dey feel like one lord.

The next holiday was when my Mom stopped calling me to come and take my food from the kitchen.

So Now I visited my elder brother's wife last week and I noticed she has stopped calling me just by my name, she always adds uncle and she now greets me if I did not see her first. Na now I know say I suppose go marry oh, but the money never dey.

Very interesting. The very funny stories are real experiences except that story tellers add a little bit of sensationalism to them.

A long time ago when I was a kid, I and my friends got lost in a very large maize farm. While we were trying to figure our way out, we saw an old man with a bagco sack and a machete. The man started following us round the farm, it didn't matter what direction it was we were headed, this old man just kept following us. When we walked, he walked and when we ran, he ran too. We finally made our way out of the maze (pun intended) farm and the baba followed us out and went his way. Years later it occurred to me that the old man was also lost in the maize farm and was only following us because he thought we could show him the way out. It was pretty scary though because we were told stories of people who cut off children's head for rituals.

So last night I had a hilarious frightening experience which reminded me of one I also had in boarding school, so I said let me share both of them with you guys.

I live in lokoja, the GRA around the mount Patti area and my house is situated up on a hill and it's on the second to the last street. The last street is still not fully built so we are pretty much still surrounded by bushes and trees.

So me and a neighbour went out to watch the liverpool match Last night, and after the game my neighbour left immediately for home while I stayed out a little later. At around 8 I decided to head home also and decided to board a bike but any bike I stopped would refuse going up to my house because of its height and a fear of being jacked and/or kidnapped for rituals(old story that refused to die), so after sometime I decided to take the almost 30mins walk home.

Climbing the final stretch to my house I was the only one on the road but I wasn't afraid cos their was streetlights all the way. Getting to the last street before the bend that was my street the streetlights suddenly went off and the whole place was plunged into darkness, so I paused to bring out my phone and use its flashlight when a figure suddenly appeared from that street right in front of me and stopped, my spirit left me looking for where to hide, all my body became icecold and rooted to the spot when suddenly the figure started running up towards my street.

Now at this juncture I should have been happy the "spirit" was running away from me but my brain don mix and my body was in the suspended flight mode, but seeing the figure run loosed my body and I began running, not back where I came from but towards the running figure( we call it anywhere belle face run), in my mind whatever is making a spirit run is worth running from, when I got to the bend leading to my street power was restored and saw the figure in full light.

Well Ladies and gentlemen it would be my pleasure to announce to you guys that the "spirit figure" was my neighbour who went out with me to watch the match but left earlier to visit a friend before heading home taking a different route. All this was just about 15seconds or thereabout but it felt like hours, when I met up with him he was like "Guy wetin dey make you pursue me na" I just looked at him laughing and catching my breath and said " ah ah na me for dey ask you wetin dey make you run, if say God answer my prayer immediately Holy Ghost fire for don burn you since" and we all laughed to our various houses.

The second story.

Every Friday in school we hold a Christian prayer vigil with goes all the way to 3 or 4am on Saturday. On this particular day, We(my friends and I) went to the vigil and I started sleeping almost immediately after the praise and worship section. After being poked and prodded by ushers countless times I decided to head to the hostel and continue my sleep and as it turns out my friends too were also feeling sleepy so we all decided to go the hostel together.

The time was between 12am and 1pm when we left the vigil hall. There is this road between the girls hostel and the boys hostel that we took and it was overgrown with weeds on both sides but the moon was out that night so we had no problem seeing what was in front of us.

We had almost gotten to the hostel when we saw a white humanlike figure coming towards us and if you've ever been to a boarding school you would agree with me that it has a lot of spiritual stories, from the "miss koi koi" story to the "bush babies" stories and students being initiated into the spirit world with sweet and biscuits and being possesed by the spirit of "jinn", then coupled with us coming from a vigil where the prayer leaders have put the fear of God in you with their fearfull prayer points, so seeing that figure walking towards us made us stop, but the figure kept coming towards us.

With us was one of our friend who had a faulty leg so couldn't walk as fast as us and he was the one that started the race back to the vigil hall which made us all join him but when we looked back to know whether the figure was still behind us we saw it running towards us well no-one told us to double our speed.

We had almost reached the girls hostel area when the figures spoke up "Abeg wetin dey pursue una na, wait for me abeg" that was when we stopped and turned to it and looked closely, well it was no spirit but our resident student ALBINO going for the vigil.

I see no hatred nor dislike but a difference in what each tribe wants.
Hatred only exists in the keyboards of myopic minded people who use the abstractness of the internet to spew nonsense which they can't say out loud in public.

Manually processed fufu has a strong smell which restricts some people from buying it, While
Mechanically processed fufu has its smell greatly reduced with the addition of chlorine and other chemicals.
