Ifiegboria:Still does not matter. I just returned from Canada, someone sent me an invite too. You either apply online or download the application forms, fill and print, then take to VFS to submit and do Biometric. No Interview is done, just read through the previous posts, everything you need is there |
There is no Visa Interview for Canada Visit Visa. Scroll through the old posts for how to apply and list of documents required |
thebaft:Enjoy!

Just returned from a wonderful trip to Canada. Thanks to everyone on this thread! No issue with Immigration at MMIA or at Point of Entry in Toronto |
I got a visa to Norway recently, although I did not use it because of work engagement. Norway is a strictly orderly place so it would be difficult to work with a tourist visa. I have lived there before, schooling on a Norwegian government scholarship with a residence permit. Strictly law and order place |
tariy:If you appeal/Re-apply detail in concise terms your stated purpose of travel and why it is relevant to you. Also detail your Occupation, Position, Salary/Income, explain all salient issues concerning your occupation/Source of Income/Asset/Statement of Account/Ties to Nigeria. In other words convince the VO why he/she should believe you would return to Nigeria. Include as many relevant supporting documents you think are necessary. In my first application I was refused on the grounds of Travel History, Personal and Financial Asset. I did not appeal. I waited a while and reapplied attaching my old used passport with used visas, Stamped Residence permits and entry/exit stamps, property docs, multiple bank statements, pictures, Employment letter and many many more. I then wrote a detailed 2 page narrative clearly stating purpose of visit, current occupation, source of income, funds for the trip, Assets in Nigeria, travel history and Ties to Nigeria. With Subheading and paragraphs for each topic. I referenced all the attachments in the letter and enclosed a table of content and a table of Attachments I got the visa |
romefe:Try and use expedia.com, that is what I used. I tried booking directly with Air Canada but they were sending errors with payment with my First bank Mastercard, so I used Expedia to book the same flight with Air Canada and it went through and at the same cost. |
So some of the 80 Senators that accompanied Saraki to show support during his Corruption case hearing last week are now concerned about Ameachi's corruption allegations. Just saying. |
The main problem I have with Zaposta is that the staff behaves like the worst kind of civil servants. If you promise constant status updates, yet weeks will pass without any update, you will send numerous emails which will be auto acknowledged, without any response. You will make numerous phone calls and get the the standard reply "we will contact our overseas office and get back to you" and they never ever do. Very very terrible customer service, even worse than civil servants. How can one place an order and after 26 days they tell you your order has not been received from the vendor. Because of this I made an order on Amazon.com paid with my Mastercard and received the item to my door step in Port Harcourt exactly one week, 1 week, the same items I ordered through Zaposta, I understand the CEO may be sincere in his intentions but the actual experience is a serious turnoff. The bottom line is keep your promises and let the staff know they are not doing anyone any favours, its a business. I may use Zaposta in the future, but then again I will probably not. |
IGBOSON1:Leave South South to speak on its own, don't try and tie it to South East, it won't work we don't want Biafra . If most we will rather go on our own |
thebaft:Thanks, I have booked Turkish Airlines to Toronto, this will give me a chance to spend a day in Istanbul, Turkey as I have a 25 hour layover on the return flight. I just got a Turkish E-visa valid for 6 months Actually the savings is more than N65,000 per person |
Hi all, Please I intend to travel to Ottawa, Canada for the Xmas & New year. I discovered that Turkish Airline from Lagos to Toronto is the cheapest fare. I want to know if I can fly Turkish Airline to Toronto and book a local flight ( Air Canada) from Toronto to Ottawa . This would save more than N50,000 I want to know if I would have any problem at the Point of Entry since in my Visa application I stated I was going to see my brother in Ottawa |

ridwanadebayo95:My first visa, an entry visa to Norway was also crossed with a pen, but then it was a seven day visa because I had a resident permit which i got stamped at the local police station when i arrived. But they crossed the visa with a pen on arrival at the airport then let me through |
Just like when I first got to school in Norway long time ago, it was late autumn and already very cold, I slept in a cold room for two days before I figured out how to operate the room heater. I did not bath for the first three days until a guy from the next room showed me how to operate the hot/cold water fixture. Really a shame that our pride will prevent us from asking for help, I will probably still be too embarrassed to ask for help even now. And the one about the cab drivers? on my first day in Oslo the cab driver took me round a particular square three times until I told him I did not have any money, the scholarship board had directed me to take a cab from the Airport to their office. He stopped the cab, asked for the address again and sped off directly to the place |
You do not need anybody to order for you, I placed an order on Amazon.com on the 5th, paid with my Mastercard and received it today 12th by courier to my door step. That is one week. Great! |
amarise:Sometimes its all about presentation |
tariy:Tourist visa, I got an invitation letter from my brother and his wife who are canadian citizens |
topaztee:I submitted on the 10th of August, received alert 28th September |
Godbpraised:Actually this is my second time, the first time in 2013 was denied on a technicality. I wrote a very clear 2 page letter of purpose and attached bank statements, marriage and kid's birth certificates, letter from employer, pictureso of recent overseas holiday with my family, used boarding passes and old passport with study permit and used visas |
Sincere thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread. Like I said earlier, though I always research CIC and VFS Global websites for planning, this thread has been invaluable. I just got my passport back from the Visa Processing Centre. I year multiple entry visa attached Cheers all! |
saxywale:I think its better to use CIC info as a reference when planning. Even the Canada Visa Application Centre operator, VFS Global on their website always refers specific questions about Visas to the CIC website including the time it takes for processing. I applied for a TRV on the 10th of July, I only got a text this morning that its ready. Thats 52 days, I know some people who submitted late July and early september and nothing yet. Its not wise to give specific advice that may cause problems to people. If someone intends to travel for an event taking place in four weeks and now uses that advise to plan, well it would probably be a total waste I like this thread, its very informative but I always research both the CIC and the VFC websites, they have they final word I can use for planning |

travelland:On CIC website it states 56 days |
thebaft:Please be careful when making statements that may be misleading. How do you get the visa onto your passport? do you think they send it to you. Be very clear, you submit your original passport to the Visa Processing Centre and do your Biometric in person after you have submitted your online application. At least for Canadian Visit Visa which this thread is all about |
Please has anyone ever used Zaposta.com? If so how was the outcome? Iam having serious issues with them, they are refusing to even answer my emails requesting update on my outstanding orders with them |
richardquest:No, always submit a fake one! |
55 to 60 inch led hd how much urgent |
At what point did the Air Maroc deny him boarding? Was it at the airline counter, before or after he had gotten his Boarding Pass? Because in that case immigration might have stopped him, if not he world have the unused boarding passes as evidence |
@ OP, don't hold your breathe waiting for an interview invite. E go tay! |
juliusobigwe:I think you can use wakanow.com both for the flight/hotel booking and the visa |
juliusobigwe:Nope, just a scanned copy of ur passports data page and passport photo. Everything can be done via email. I think kenya airways or ethiopian airways are cheaper, but I normally use Emirates which is more expensive. You can google all these urself. That is what I did, don't spend money on any agent |
