I am not one of those who shy away from protesting injustice and oppression, This man did not see the injustice in taking over the property and sweat of another man from the same country without paying a dime and citing same as abandoned property. Injustice to one is injustice to all. |
majekdom2:This administration has done more for the railways than any past civilian one. The president recently commissioned modern coaches on the Lagos- Kaduna route and the Port Harcourt - Kaduna line is also being revamped. |
searchcorp:Please what evidence did Amaechi tender to warrant the presidency to counter it? Amaechi has just made an obnoxious allegation and nothing more. This guy is not showing any form of intelligence in the way he speaks publicly. He seems so sure that GEJ will lose the next election. So what is his exit strategy if GEJ wins? |
Emmalot121: Jonathan is very uglyYou seem to have lost your sense of reasoning to your deep hatred for the president. How can you look at that picture and say that Jonathan is ugly. Would have loved to look at your picture to confirm that you are uglier. It is obvious though that your mind is quite ugly. |
I didn't see Egypt, South Africa or Cameroun on the list of beneficiaries. Why most every thing be a slight to Nigerians. Nigeria has a better trained and equiped army than that of any of the benefitting countries. This is not a slight please. |
Jbluv55: Now here is the original image :You are wrong. You missed out the squares formed by taking 3 of the small boxes in both directions. |

mrakin: pls do not insult God almighty. He has given us the free will to live our lives the way we want since our first parent had agreed to be like God. I am not going into bible lessons but I want you to know that God does not pre-determine our destiny. God is not partial, He does not distribute wealth, poverty, sickness and good health. You are unwittingly contradicting yourself. Why would the accident happen to some and not others. Why would the evil forces successfully attack some and not others even with the same degree of prayers and fasting. Why do things happen to some and not others, is it just luck or accident as you believe or has it been pre-ordained? I believe their is pre-destination(destiny) but like some have espoused here it can be altered within a given ambit. You may not totally change your destiny, but you might not reach your mark or even in some cases exceed it based on your actions or inactions. |
This Story get serious K-leg. Like someone pointed out earlier, 1 man successfully tied you up without knocking you down or you successfully raising alarm? How come he did all these to somebody he knows very well, invited down to wherever and was seen with by obviously mutual friends robbing him of an alibi. How could he have been so explicit as to tell her what the babalawo asked him to do to her and why? It doesn't add up to me. |
AB$I:Are you normal? The elected president an impostor. You need to go to school so that you won't be spewing rubbish on the net. And please what is the meaning of 'claomong'? Am sure that is not an English word. |
Virgin Finder: lwtmbYou see your life? Its about Tinubu achieving a feat and not what is good for Anambra people. Tell me why Anambra people should vote for slavery after this your comment. |
DIVINE78: I did mine in Ogidi. Sentiment trumps common sense in Igboland. Its quite presumptuous of you to think you know what is good for Anambra people or Igbos for that matter. The west you know are the people that actually vote based on ethnic sentiments and some sort of herd mentality. |
Italiano1: This is becoming a live comedy show from our brothers in the SE.Sylvester is also Debe. Same person. |
picoba: Halve bake graduate!I dont think you have been following this saga. The Oba was alleged to have molested the corper in his private guest house. I wonder how she was supposed to get evidence of the beddings from the Oba's residence or inflict a mark on him. |
Looks like the Jonathan presidency is on a mission to self destruct. |
We should thank Aregbosola for this. |
We need to avert our minds to the possibility of other planes of existence outside the concept of heaven and hell in the hereafter. The Igbo concept teaches a form of communal existence that is more or less a contoinuation of relatiopnships and realities one experienced on while alive. Ones position there would depend on how he lived here, his accomplishments and how he was buried. Some of the experiences I have heard seem to lend some level of credence to this. |
Governor Okorocha doesn't seem to have fully grasped the complexities in tackling youth unemployment. This proposal is so pedestrian.Training 100 pilots from Imo state in SA? sounds so dumb. 100 hotel managers might be more useful. What the economy of Imo state needs is industries that can employ people. Granted it might be difficult for government to set up and sustain these industries, but they can create an environment that will encourage private investors to do so rather than building hotels in every street. |
ABIA STATE (God's Own State)....Which one come be Devil's own state? As many might have guessed (yelz…lol), Abia is an acronym derived from the name of the four main groups of people in the state as at the time it was formed in 1991. These were the: Aba, Bende, Isuikwuato and Afikpo. Former Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu (hin too dey talk joor) is from Bende while Lambert Ndukwe, one of the richest men in Nigeria in the 50s (he imported stockfish from Northern European nations like Norway and exported cotton back) was from Isuikwato. Afikpo now belongs to Ebonyi State and as for Aba, we all know berra…lol! Okay, let’s roll! Abia state was derived from the 1st two letters of Aba senatorial zone and the last two letters of Umuahia senatorial zone of the Old Imo state that combined to form Abia state and not the local governments listed above. |
LADY OF RAGE: The little girl is a replica of her mum. Most of you saying she looks like her dad haven't even seen Femi kuti 's ex wife. Can't remember her name sef.It wasnt Funmi that gave birth to the girl. |
Some of us grew up eating some ants as a delicacy. For the Igbos,' Mkpu'(termite), 'Nwa Igu'(Carterpillar) and some other insects are still prized sources of protein. If they are readily available why not? |
Wifey of course. If something happens to you, your wife will protect your kids interest better than any other person. |
Eko Ile: But Achebe not only didn't show no respect for the dead/Awo, he insulted Awo and his people. It's Ok to respect your ashebe, but don't ask other people to because he didn't earn that respect and especially for a mean spirited and vindictive bitter old man who refused to act like an elder or respect himself. What goes around comes around, yeah someday you will die and having not made a mark like Achebe or Awo for that matter you will not be mourned like some discerning Yorubas and Igbos mourn Achebe. |
Eze Promoe: [color=crimson]Just got a call this morning that two of my relatives were injured by the blast but who do I vent my anger on? Shoemakers? Nail cutters? Toy wristwatch sellers? This is a very insensitive post, other peoples cousins, parents, brothers, sisters and children have died and nothing dey happen because your cousins survived. |
akagaba: Seeking 4 irrelevant attention. Go and sit down my dear if thats ur daft perception abt eternal life. Who cares wat u thnk or say abt eternal life, al wat i can tel u is dat on d last day, we wil know. M0ron.@op above, ur post is very disappointing. Somebody raised a very interesting topic for discussion and all u can do is diss him. Obviously u believe in the last day, judgement day and all the rest of the apocalyptic thought. What drives your belief- the enjoyment of heaven or dread of hell? I think for most people the drive is the desire to avoid hellfire rather than the anticipated enjoyment of heaven. |
I think its important we separate religious victimization from punishment for breaking school rules. The girl was flogged for breaking school rules that prohibited the wearing of Hijab during school hours. |
Nnokwa Progressive Union Decries Allegation on Mrs. Ukpaka ...Student’s act was against school regulations, says family The National Nnokwa Progressive Union (NPU), Lagos chapter yesterday refuted the allegation heaped on Mrs. E.C Ukpaka, the Principal of Kadara Junior Grammar School, Ebute Meta, Lagos State, over the flogging of a student in the school, Aishat Alabi, out of religious sentiment. The NPU Head of Media and Publicity, Mr. Eze Victor, who spoke to THISDAY on behalf of the Union, said Ukpaka happens to be an award winner because of her humility and character. “Her efforts as a teacher and principal has always included preaching against discrimination in any form, and as such should not be attached to her personality especially matters of religious sentiments which she preaches against.” The Union, he said, after its own investigation into the matter, discovered that Ukpaka acted in accordance with the school rules and regulations which state that on no account would students display or appear in any form, suggesting religious connotation. Victor stressed that (NPU) frowned at a situation wherein series of rallies were held against Ukpaka by the Muslim Student Society of Nigeria (MSSN) who are of the opinion that she victimised the student because of her religion. “This is just a case of intimidation and we will stand by her: we will give her all the necessary support she needs at this very trying time and we want to believe that some of the things are not necessary and they will not last long. “The earlier some of these things stop, the better for them. Not just for the image of the school or as a disservice to other dedicated teachers but for educational growth and development in the state because it makes mockery of all that the state Governor, Babatunde Fashola, has been trying to do in the area of unity, peace, development and improved standard of living for schools in particular and the state in general. When THISDAY visited the Ukpaka’s family in Lagos, the family expressed disappointment that the matter was blown out of proportion with the aim of tarnishing her hard earned reputation. According the family, “It was alleged that Mrs. Ukpaka, the Principal of the school flogged a 16-year old student Alabi because she was wearing hijab( a female Muslim head cover). This is not true. The girl in question was flogged because of indiscipline. She violated the school rule by wearing hijab during school hours in the school compound. Hijab or Rosary is not part of the school uniform. “It was alleged that Mrs. Ukpaka gave the student 43 strokes of cane. This is not true. She only gave her six stroke of cane commensurate with her age knowing fully well that she is a minor as a corrective measure and a lesson for other students. “It was also alleged that the correction was done after school hour. This is not true at all as the flogging was done during schooling hour at the assembly which takes place every school day as from 3: 15 p.m. for all Lagos State public schools. Meanwhile, a letter dated February 18 issued by the General Secretary of (MSSN), Ebute Metta Area Council, Uthman Ishaq, condemned what it described as molestation, victimisation and assault of Muslim students of the above aforementioned school. The letter stated that the students “are being denied their fundamental right which is well spelt out in the Nigerian Constitution. “It it unfortunate to know that you, the principal, could beat a JSS 1 student, Alabi so mercilessly for putting on hijab after school hour as to give her 43 strokes of cane in the afternoon assembly-a case of inhuman or degrading treatment and assault. This is absolutely a case of religious victimisation, and it is unacceptable We hereby demand that such victimisation, either by staff or students of Muslim students be put an end in the school; any subsequent report from the school may lead to any thing,” the latter stated. |
peteregwu: if u study the history of the catholic, u willThe poster above is so pathetic. You are Ignorant of Catholic doctrines and is actually blaspheming. Catholics do not have Mary as their God. |
Why are the Yoruba people always displaying anti Ojukwu and anti Igbo sentiments here. The demolition could have been political and does not necessarily mean that Igbos hate each other or hate Ojukwu for that matter. Have they forgotten so soon how Awolowos statue was demolished in Ibadan a few years back? |
A myth bablowos use to waste human lives. I think there are rituals that can enhance ones ability to make money. They may not be based on human sacrifice as portrayed in Nollywood films.People in cults help each other with contacts and opportunities and not rituals alone. |
I agree that it is a scam, i met their target and got nothing. |
I can't bear seeing that face in Aso Rock for one more term.
No be one person be Obama,no wonder an age long adage says 'Show me your president and I will tell you the state of ya country.'
