erico2k2:Sir, there is a difference between points and sides. . No the Jewish symbol has six tipped points not sides. You can connect the points to create sides. Secondly in politics perception is all. If the Muslims perceive that it is Jewish in nature please kindly remove. Our unity matters much more than the middle eastern wahala. Thanks |
IGBOSON1:No I will not. Anything that smacks of indigenous symbol is fine with me. Why not Nsibidi type of symbol or early math symbols from Congo. |
erico2k2:Yes oo. I lack the ability to understand words written in English. Pray slowly explain to me why we need a middle Eastern religious symbol on our article of unity |
CBN must remove that symbol. It smacks of a middle Eastern religious symbol. Use a Nigerian symbol if you must. |
Some sections of Nigeria indeed deserve the leaders they get. |
notobs:Now read this slowly "angry" young man 1. No "Igbo ethnic champion " on this thread claimed they invented, discovered, wrote, designed Nsibidi...You Notobs made it up. 2. Nsibidi is an Ejaagham invention. Most people on this thread noted that EXCEPT YOU who claims Ibibio. 3. Efik/Ibibios are distinct ethnicitically from Ejaaghams. EJEAAGHAMS ARE NOT IGBOs. 4. Efik/Ibibios borrowed Nsibidi from the Ejaaghmas just like any other group in the area. 5. The "Igbo ethnic champions" have admitted that they borrowed a lot of the Efik/Ibibios culture including Ekpe due to migration to areas under Ibibo Empire. Please leave the thread to allow the OP a non-Igbo to give us a little more lecture on this educative thread. Finally go and have a thorough study/research about your "claimed Efik " ethnicity maybe - just maybe you will have a deeper understanding of your environment. Then come back and lecture us on what you found out. Take that unwarranted "anger" and put it to good use. thanks and be well |
notobs:Quite interesting fellow Mt. Notobs, you have now moved from Nsibidi when you found out that that "your ethnic " group Efik did borrow from "Ejaaghams". Now the fight is about Ekpe. Can you please define what your anger is about,. Is it the lack of comprehension of what the OP was espousing, Is it the acknowledgement by the "igbo" ethnc champions here that they borrowed Nsibidi from the Ibibios but have adopted it as their writing system. Is it the lack of comprehensive knowledge about your own "ethnic group" the Efik. Is it the lack of understanding of various writings of various NLanders here who have pointed out that other "ethnic" groups borrowed and incorporated Ibibio culture as part of their culture. What exactly do you want instead of malicious derailment of this beautifull thread. Anger and Bitterness never created anything meaningful. |
MissMeiya:please ma'am can you go on with the postings on Nsibidi... Notobs is merely a troll and an intellectual fraud to say the least... Some of us are here to learn from your wealth of knowledge on the subject |
fantastic news |
Op please do you have more info this project |
gemiclem:calabar is the name of an area in south eastern coast of Nigeria Ibibio is the name of an ethnic group found around the south eastern coast of Nigeria |
FG, U.S. investors sign MoU for $4b 1200mw solar power project THE Federal Government yesterday in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a consortium of American investors in renewable energy, Motir Seaspire to deliver in the next five years, a project of 1,200 mega watts of solar-powered electricity in Nigeria. Signing the deal, valued at $4 billion in partnership with world’s largest private renewable energy developer, New Generation Powers, the Minister of Power, Professor Chinedu Nebo noted that the project was in line with the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan, stressing that when completed , the project will not only alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians but create more employment opportunities. At the signing ceremony Jafer Hasnain, Partner of Motir Seaspire observed that their mission is to ‘build bridges between Nigeria, the United States and West Africa in the area of renewable energy specifically solar power in a manner that benefits the people of Nigeria and improves Nigerian energy infrastructure, with the proven global and local expertise of Motir-Seaspire and New Generation Power. Expressing confidence on the delivery of the project, chairman of New Generation Powers, Charinjeev Bucharia , Chairman, New Generation Power, USA, said,” We are extremely excited and committed as part of the energy solution provider for Nigeria.” President and Chief Executive Officer of Motir Seaspire, Emmanuel Irono, a Nigerian in Diaspora, affirmed that the proposed solar technology to be installed is of guaranteed U.S standard and that the team has a portfolio of over 5 billion US dollars that could be accessed over a period of 5 years into its integrated renewable energy projects. He said that the initial 1,200MW will be realized in the next two years, adding that the local content component of 80 percent Nigerians will make the country the hub of its activities in Africa. “As a compatriot, the concern for providing employment to the teeming populace will be a plus to the company’s quest for provision of training for the Nigerian workforce in the power sector in general and renewable energy in particular.” Responding after signing on behalf of Nigeria, the Honourable Minister, Professor Chinedu Nebo expressed who his excitement that a compatriot is making the giant stride of harnessing the vast potentials of energy in solar, stressed that studies have shown that Africa is greatly endowed with solar that is put at over 3 times the capacity of all other renewable energy sources combined. He commended the American Group for taking the bold step, insisting that the government would do all within its powers in fast tracking the project and also promised to assist the Group to leverage on the Power Africa initiative of President Barrack Obama in the area of funding for the project. “We must support this project, as it will be in tandem with Mr. President’s long time wish for Nigeria to enjoy its abundant solar potentials especially those in rural areas, as it is envisioned that through a project like this, they would be linked to micro or mini grid system,” he noted. notobs:Am enthused by your great historical knowledge. Could you please enlighten us on the relationship between your "ethnic" group the Efik and the Ejaaghams. |
notobs:Let me paraphrase FN Asiegwu an Ejegham" there has been a whole some attempt to subsume other groups in "calabar" by the Efik because of military , economic and political might as a result of " right of first" to arrive |
notobs:Again you are Efik not Ejegham. You are acting like the Igbo's you are accusing of "forceful" appropriation of other people's culture. |
You are not Ekoi then and can't lay claim to nsibidi origin and invention. You like any other "ethnic champion" stop derailing this thread since the groups you are championing merely started using the beautiful Nsibidi after the Ekoi's have done the fundamental workl. |
MR NOTOBS ARE YOU EKOI OR SOUTHERN CAMEROUNIAN |
OboloMAN:Who are the owners of this system of writing? |
notobs:Are from southern Cameroun or an Ekoi, |
Nsibidi is neither an efik nor Ibibio invention .... The group credited for the writing which is dated between 4000 to 5000 Bc were the Uguakima, Ebe and Uyanga and eventually the Ekoi of the present day Cross River State ( these groups are also spread throughout southern cameroun). The Ekoi through their contact with the Ibibios/Efiks of the southern part of the present day cross river introduced the writing to them. The Ekpe used it but did not invent it. The Ibibios most likely transfered it to other sub-groups in the area as they were the dominant civilisation at the time. The Igbos were actually late "comers" in the Ibibio civilizing sphere of the the present day cross-river and Akwa Ibom and eventually came in contact with the system of writing. I for one do not know why NOTOB wants to derail this beautifull thread through his lack of basic research. I do not see any person from Southern cameroun complaining that other africans are interested and learning their basic system of writing. It really doesn't matter who invented what provided it is being studied and put to good use for the development of the continent.... I bet you did not know who invented the cloth you were wearing today. thanks and be well |
ceejay80s:you know you can beat Dangote in his game if you spend more of your energy and time working on creating stuff than thinking and wishing on destroying them. |
Dangote is following in the footsteps of Yataro Iwasaki The founder of Mitsubishi Group of companies one of the largest corporations in the world involved in EVERY facet of human endeavour- you name it they are there. There is a joke that without mitsubishi, your computer will not work or aircraft fly. It is my sincere wish and hope that Dangote will get to that level |
We’ll start exporting rice in three years – FG Nigeria will become a net exporter of rice in the next three years, the Federal Government has said. According to the government, over N256bn has been invested in the product in the past three years. The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, said this in Abuja on Monday during the second Nigeria Rice Investment Forum organised by the Business Group of the New Partnership for African Development. He said part of the aims of the rice transformation agenda of the Federal Government which started in 2011 was to make Nigeria self-sufficient in rice production as well as export of the commodity. Adesina said, “Nigeria must become a net exporter of food like Thailand and India. With the rice transformation agenda of Mr. President, a lot has been invested in the crop to ensure that we become self sufficient in the production of rice. I have no doubt that in the next three to four years, Nigeria will start exporting rice like Thailand and India.” The minister explained that 24 states across the federation were already growing rice during the dry season while the 36 states were producing the crop in the wet season. He said seven million metric tonnes of rice paddy had been added to Nigeria’s production, adding that the country was 80 per cent self-sufficient in the production of paddy rice. Paddy is the form of rice harvested from the farm before it is milled and made ready for consumption. Adesina said the Federal Government was currently focusing on rice milling to ensure that the quantity of paddy rice produced in Nigeria was milled. The minister said it was very important for Nigeria to close its milling gap, stressing that the country would have to build over 18 integrated rice mills to achieve this. On the essence of the forum, the Special Adviser to the President on NEPAD, Mrs. Fidelia Njeze, said it was to provide an opportunity to review the successes achieved and the challenges faced in actualising self-sufficiency in rice production in Nigeria and West Africa. She said, “As major stakeholders in the rice investment programme, this is an opportunity to address what needs to be done towards breaking the barriers of large scale production of rice in Nigeria. “In this regard, issues such as setting up of mechanised rice mills, enhancement of production capabilities of small holder farmers, availability of improved seedlings, enhancing yield per hectare and building resilience against climate change must be addressed.” Meanwhile, following the steady rise in rice production in the country, stakeholders in the NEPAD Business Group says they will explore more opportunities in the industry. According to a statement by the Administrative Manager, NEPAD Business Group, Mr. Dosunmu Oluwole, several opportunities exist for investors in the three components of rice industry, which he gives as production, processing and marketing to create wealth. He said the development would form the basis for the discourse at the second edition of the Nigeria Rice Investment Forum holding in Abuja between November 17 and 18. “The outcome of the first forum has been part of the ongoing success and transformation in the sector. The 2nd Nigeria Rice Investment Forum therefore intends to focus on practical steps to transform rice industry in Nigeria and West Africa for self-sufficiency, sustainability and exportation. “The forum will bring together relevant stakeholders, development partners and relevant government agencies and departments to achieve the objectives of creating opportunities that will lead to setting up of rice production and processing projects in Nigeria and West Africa,” the statement added. Dangote’s Lagos refinery to start operations by mid-2018 AN oil refinery, being promoted by Dangote Group, is expected to come on-stream latest by the first half of 2018, in Lagos. The plant will be able to process 500,000 barrels of crude a day, according to Dangote Industries’ operations director for petroleum refining, George Nicolaides, in an interview at the Platts African Refining Summit in Cape Town Monday. “The site is being cleared, the plant is being designed,” Nicolaides said, adding that the organization is “close to the beginning of detailed engineering.” In September last year, Dangote said it had agreed on a $3.3 billion loan with 12 Nigerian and foreign lenders to build the refinery as well as a petrochemical and fertilizer complex costing a total of $9 billion. At that time, the facility in Africa’s biggest economy was expected to be completed in 2016 and the initial capacity of the refinery was put at 400,000 barrels a day. “We have a very ambitious construction schedule,” Nicolaides said. “I’m not sure about the history of those dates.” While Nigeria is Africa’s top producer of crude oil, it relies on fuel imports to meet more than 70 percent of its needs. Four state refineries with a combined capacity of 445,000 barrels a day are operating at a fraction of that because of poor maintenance and aging equipment. Dangote selected Engineers India Ltd. to do most of the detailed engineering work for the new plant. Construction contractors were yet to be appointed. “Supplying the local market is the primary objective,” Nicolaides said. “Naturally we can move product to the region. The government is being very supportive, very enthusiastic about this project. We are not looking for or wanting any particular subsidies.” Guardian: Monday, 17 November 2014 19:45 Written by EDITOR Category: Business News SOURCE: www.ngrguardiannews.com/business/186952-dangote-s-lagos-refinery-to-start-operations-by-mid-2018 |
The european african poverty pornograghic purveyors at it. Not to discount the basis of the research as something can always be learned from such studies, the report failed to give details of the indices used to gauge the meaning and level of poverty within each of the multidimensional cultural settings that is Nigeria. An anecdotal glance sees the northern part of the country bearing most of the "brunt" which makes the case of culture very relevant as regards poverty indices. |
@ OP Your writing would have been clearer if you have defined your version of "concept of time" for us. Your writing would have been clearer if your "observation" was limited to your physical and cultural setting rather than making a generalized statement on you perceived " concept of time management" as regards black people. Your writing would have been a little clearer if you had not made attempt to link your "concept" of time to development and economic advancement. Your writing would have been a little clearer if you had not attempt to link time within the narrow concept of your "own" existence.. Your writing could stand on its own merit without attempting to "denegrate" the black man/woman because of "inherent" hatred for them and what they do within their cultural norms and values. thanks and be well |
Its really a difficult endeavour to teach people who have low self esteem because of the nature of the cultural setting they found themselves in.. Here's why "some" black africans worship europeans They ( europeans ) killed their fathers ... leaving them fatherless They raped their mothers and fathered their children When the children grew up the only father they knew was the "benevolent" one that destroyed their family and culture they never knew. Replacing their culture with that of the rapist. So how can the offspring not reject their true history. Because the rapist told them that they (offspring) do no not have history. ( They never questioned how can a living being not have history) It takes time and patient to deconstruct the minds of these offsprings and get them back to their true history with the attendant self worth. |
A delegation of the European Union, EU, to Nigeria on Tuesday appealed to the Federal Government to sign the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) to enhance the export of Nigerian products to Europe. The delegation’s Public Affairs Officer, Ugo Sokari-George, made the appeal while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria at the ongoing Lagos International Trade Fair at the Tafawa Balewa Square, TBS, Lagos. Mrs. Sokari-George said that signing of the agreement would be of immense benefit to the nation’s economy. The EPA is a free trade agreement between countries in the EU and developing economies in Africa and Asia. The aim is to foster mutually beneficial trade cooperation among the member countries. According to her, developing countries that signed the EPA are enjoying various trade preferences on exports, as offered by the EU. “Signing the EPA implies that trade restrictions will be relaxed to accommodate export goods from Nigeria. “As a result, the increased exports will ensure the growth of the real sector and resulting in economic growth,” she said. Mrs. Sokari-George, however, noted that there was a need for Nigerian entrepreneurs to upgrade the quality of their products to meet international standards. “We can only explore the openness of the EU market to develop export opportunities for standard and quality products. “The EU is available at the trade fair to guide entrepreneurs interested in exporting their products to Europe. “We are here (trade fair) to advise you on how to meet the necessary requirements and documentations that will facilitate exports to Europe,” she said. The fair which started on Nov. 7 will end on Nov. 16. (NAN) |
naturalnews.com printable article Originally published November 8 2014 Tetanus vaccines found spiked with sterilization chemical to carry out race-based genocide against Africans by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor (NaturalNews) Tetanus vaccines given to millions of young women in Kenya have been confirmed by laboratories to contain a sterilization chemical that causes miscarriages, reports the Kenya Catholic Doctors Association, a pro-vaccine organization. A whopping 2.3 million young girls and women are in the process of being given the vaccine, pushed by UNICEF and the World Health Organization. "We sent six samples from around Kenya to laboratories in South Africa. They tested positive for the HCG antigen," Dr. Muhame Ngare of the Mercy Medical Centre in Nairobi told LifeSiteNews. "They were all laced with HCG." Chemical causes a woman's body to destroy its own fetus with vaccine-induced antibodies HCG is a chemical developed by the World Health Organization for sterilization purposes. When injected into the body of a young woman, it causes a pregnancy to be destroyed by the body's own antibody response to the HCG, resulting in a spontaneous abortion. Its effectiveness lasts for years, causing abortions in women up to three years after the injections. Dr. Ngare explained "...this WHO campaign is not about eradicating neonatal tetanus but a well-coordinated forceful population control mass sterilization exercise using a proven fertility regulating vaccine." The Kenyan government, of course, insists the vaccine is perfectly safe. Dr. Tabu of Kenya's Health Ministry even told the media that because some young women are still having babies, the vaccine therefore must not contain any sterilization agent. However, this claim belies the fact that HCG doesn't work 100% of the time. It only sterilizes the majority of those injected with it, not all of them. More importantly, the Kenyan Catholic Church is a pro-vaccine organization. "What reason do the Catholic doctors have for lying?" asked Dr. Ngare as reported in the LifeSiteNews article linked above. "The Catholic Church has been here in Kenya providing health care and vaccinating for 100 years for longer than Kenya has existed as a country." In other words, the very group exposing the sterilization agenda of the tetanus vaccines is in fact a pro-vaccination group. Yet even they have now come to realize the horrifying truth: vaccines are the perfect vector for governments to deviously insert covert chemical or viral agents which are never revealed to the public. The smoking gun: a five-shot course over two years What really raised red flags about this so-called tetanus vaccine was the highly unusual inoculation schedule. This vaccine demanded five shots over two years -- a schedule that isn't used for tetanus. "The only time tetanus vaccine has been given in five doses is when it is used as a carrier in fertility regulating vaccines laced with the pregnancy hormone, Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) developed by WHO in 1992." explained Dr. Ngare. Furthermore, the vaccine was only being given to women of child-bearing years, not men or women beyond the age of fertility. As Dr. Ngare explains, the same vaccine sterilization campaign was used in 1993 in Mexico and both Nicaragua and the Philippines in 1994. WHO attempted to bring it to Kenya in the 1990's, Ngare says, but the effort was stopped by the Catholic Church. According to Brian Clowes of Human Life International, the United Nations is not refuting the laboratory testing and confirmation of HCG in the vaccines. Instead, it claims some vaccines were "contaminated" in the manufacturing process -- an absurd claim that no reasonable person would believe because HCG should never even be anywhere near a vaccine manufacturing operation unless someone put it there deliberately. LifeSiteNews reports that it: has obtained a UN report on an August 1992 meeting at its world headquarters in Geneva of 10 scientists from "Australia, Europe, India and the U.S.A" and 10 "women's health advocates" from around the world, to discuss the use of "fertility regulating vaccines." It describes the "anti-Human Chorionic Gonadotropin vaccine" as the most advanced. |
