Chelsea intend to spend big this summer if Eden Hazard moves to Real Madrid and are reportedly plotting moves for some of European football’s biggest stars. The Belgian is a £100million target for Real after Zinedine Zidane made the winger one of his priority signings this summer and the deal is expected to be announced after the Europa League final. However, rather than sign a like-for-like replacement, BBC’s David Ornstein, speaking on 5 Live , reports that.a new centre-forward is the club’s top priority. Chelsea are still waiting to learn if they will be banned from signing players this summer, but if the ban does not stand they will pursue a deal for PSG frontman Edison Cavani. The west Londoners shipped off Alvaro Morata to Atletico Madrid, while replacement Gonzalo Higuain has scored just six goals since his January move. Chelsea feel more firepower is required up front and Cavani is one of European football’s most prolific forwards, while PSG could offload him – especially if they are trying to fund a deal for Antoine Griezmann. If the transfer ban remains in place, Chelsea will instead trigger a clause in Olivier Giroud’s contract to keep him for another year and recall Michy Batshuayi.and Tammy Abraham from their loans. https://metro.co.uk/2019/05/15/chelsea-planning-raid-psg-real-madrid-barcelona-transfer-ban-delayed-9550777/ |

I sincerely hope each one of us will do his utmost to ensure there is a better working relationship between these two arms of government in the 9th Assembly so that we can serve the people better,” Mr Buhari said. ABUJA – There is heavy security presence at the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal, as the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, begins pre-hearing session on petition the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, lodged to challenge the outcome of the February 23 presidential election. At the resumed proceeding on the petition marked CA PEPC/002/2019, Atiku, through his lead counsel, Dr. Livy Uzoukwu, SAN, applied to meet the five-man panel tribunal headed by the Court of Appeal President, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, in chambers. Even though Uzoukwu did not disclose reason behind his application to have a private meeting with the panel, however, a lawyer in his team who pleaded anonymity, told Vanguard that the essence of the meeting was to urge the tribunal Chairman, Justice Bulkachuwa to recuse herself from the matter. It will be recalled that the PDP had opposed Justice Bulkachuwa’s presence on the panel, noting that her husband is a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, which is a respondent in the matter PDP had urged Justice Bulkachuwa to in the interest of justice, disqualify herself in the matter. Meantime, neither counsel to President Muhammadu Buhari, Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, nor that of the APC, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, opposed Atiku’s application. Similarly, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, which initially challenged the request through its lawyer, Mr. Yunus Uztaz, SAN, later conceded to the application. Consequently, the panel okayed a stand-down on the matter, even as it allowed all the parties to nominate two lawyers each to attend the meeting. Meanwhile, armed security operatives blocked every route to the Court of Appeal premises, though they allowed journalists access upon proper identification https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/05/tight-security-at-a-court-as-atiku-seeks-private-meeting-with-tribunal-panel/ |

President Muhammadu Buhari, Monday night, disclosed that he warned his deputy, Yemi Osinbajo, to always stay safe to avoid being mobbed during Trader Moni disbursement in markets across Nigeria. He said this at the breaking of fast at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where he hosted top government officials. Buhari, who said he was upset with the level of poverty in the land, challenged the elite to do something very urgent to ameliorate the pathetic situation. “When I drive around the country what upset me very much is the status of our poor people in this country– you see young people, the so-called Almajiris with tore dresses, with plastic bowl. They are looking basically for what to eat. “The question of education (to them) is a luxury. I think Nigerian elite we are all failing because I think we should have a programme that will at least guarantee some basic education for our people no matter how poor they are. “So, I welcome the Vice-President initiate of the School feeding programme. If you check in your localities the enrolment into schools improved because a lot of children can get at least one good meal a day. This is the position of this country....... https://dailypost.ng/2019/05/14/warned-osinbajo-buhari/?fbclid=IwAR2JIf7ksDDMUGxBp5fLkfmOoFe3yJpRHlv0OSfxYu7yKxabN6Gx6j2UYlI |

Marijuana crosses the placenta to enter your baby’s brain and tissue giving your baby about one-third to one-tenth of the marijuana in your bloodstream. Marijuana effect on your baby Marijuana reduces the flow of blood and oxygen through the placenta directly affecting your baby’s development. It explains why babies from mothers who are marijuana users often have low birth weight. Research shows that babies exposed to marijuana after birth, experience “increased tremors, exaggerated startle reflexes, high pitched cries, and abnormal sleep patterns” common to opioid withdrawal. These babies as they grow might experience a deficit in memory and verbal skills and reasoning. Extensive research has not absolutely confirmed this. These babies, though, have the tendency to be aggressive and less attentive. Marijuana effect on the baby’s momma Pregnant women who take marijuana sometimes do so to deal with morning sickness. Many claims that it helps compared to morning sickness pills. These women include those who were addicts or marijuana users before pregnancy. You should know though that the use of marijuana places you at risk of low blood pressure and increased heart rate which can make you dizzy or faint. It also tampers with your judgment. You could harm yourself and your baby between all these.. Though there is no concrete evidence on the overall effect of marijuana on your baby, medical experts recommend abstinence during pregnancy. In light of how marijuana may disrupt your baby’s normal brain development, make him smaller at birth or lead to still birth, it is clear that you can’t use marijuana d pregnancy. |

A street tout in Lagos got N1m richer after it got to Davido’s attention that he disrespected Wizkid and praised him (Davido) simply because Wizkid failed to settle him (the street tout) during his last visit to Nigeria. The street tout told his gang members that were playing a Wizkid song to switch to Davido’s song. He praised Davido, as he slammed Wizkid for giving money to someone else during his visit and not him (and his gang). He further claimed he (and his gang) were given lots of money when Davido shot a video in Shitta with US rapper, Casanova. Due to this, he declared that Wizkid is no longer a member of the hood. But the street tout, who goes by the name Shoki Shitta, had tailed Wizkid to his sister’s shop shortly after the singer turned up with a top member of the hood, Baruwa Shitta. All these moves only succeeded in getting him beaten up by die-hard Wizkid’s fans in the hood. The video of him being beaten up surfaced online and Davido decided to reward him with N1m, stating that “he just being real and wasn’t hating.” Meanwhile, Wizkid called for peace to reign in the hood between his fans and the tout. |

American musician of African ancestry, Akon,, has made a shocking revelation that folks in the American music industry will not find funny. The Senegalese songster stated that some A-Lists Naija singers are richer than many U.S rappers. He made this known in a viral video of him speaking at a summit for youths. Akon revealed that the glamorous lifestyle seen in most American hip-hop videos were actually fake, adding that such music videos which show foreign musicians living large lifestyle with Bentley is actually the opposite of reality compared to African artistes. His words; “Hip-hop in America, every rapper is rich with Gold chains, girls by the pool in a big mansion but when the video is over they get on a phone and call Uber. But if you go to Nigeria, you have Wizkid, Davido, P-square driving Bentley, and Mercedes Benz they actually own. That’s the difference but if we don’t translate that, they would never know.” Correcting some impressions about Africa, he said; “The images they show about Africa are negative. It’s conditioning what we believe. Africa has a rich story too. More people died in Chicago, more school shootings in America.” |
