I greet you my people, please elders i need your help regarding POF, I have 5k something in each of my Euro and USD account, the cash has been there for more than 6 months. For our Canny waka now we want to use it as POF and the remaining my hubby will transfer Naira to my account as the PA to complete our POF and give me a letter to back it up as his own support for the waka, by God's grace we will enter the pool latest by December or January as Ielts is still holding us hostage. Now my question is can i use the Euro and USD bank statement as POF as it's already more than 6 months without explaination as i live and work in Nigeria or should i change them to Naira and put in TB and use the certificate to submit as POF as putting it in my naira account will make it to be less than 6 months and will be as lumps of money deposited at once in my account. I will be looking forward to the best option. May it all end in praise
Use your domiciliary accounts just the way it is,print 6months statement or collect bank ref letter, this is exactly what CIC requires.

I read that story too and decided to upload only my valid passport. However, when I was done filling the forms and my checklist came up, I saw 'multiple required' beside the passport placeholder.
I jejely uploaded all. Better safe than sorry.

Thanks for clarifying, I can advise all my clients appropriately grin
Yes that multiple in the checklist also made me upload all too,it was the only place I saw multiple, tho I started the process with another passport as well

The words "should consider" , "may grant an exemption" seems to me to place it at the discretion of the case officer.
Gotchya! However, anyone who has heard of a rejection story based on this where 3 VO did 'not consider' and didn't grant an 'exempion' should pray tell.

Ok. But I'm not sure they're obliged sha, they just have the discretion to apply a particular exception that applies to age change. I guess my VO did not see any need to apply that exception.
True @discretion and your VO

Fun fact, my birthday was after ITA and gcms notes show that the five points were deducted post aor (new score was still above Cut-off, thankfully)
The 5 points is usually deducted from your score even before u submit after ITA ,u can check this by using the 'review my score' button at the end of the page.
However, the visa officer is obliged to calculate your score based on your pre ITA info. So even if your score drops below ITA cut off cos of birthday, you cannot be rejected based on that except you changed a vital info that affected your scores.so its no surprise it shows up on gcms Don't know how to post links relating to this from cic

Thanks so much guys

@OmoBendel24,you are right,I'm mixing it up,thought things had changed since three years ago that I had a good knowledge of the process.
Thank you malevonent and hajidel once again. Im quite relieved.

However, nothing stops you from taking up an appointment in Abuja if they have earlier dates. That will be a much better option than the expedited request.
OK ,thank you
I'm specifically talking about drop box appointments tho,is that what you mean as well?
Someone few pages back mentioned drop box appointments have gotten to March 2019,hence my apprehension.
Thanks again for your quick response

Hi everyone,

pls what are the current available dates for drop box,I'm still filling my forms and not sure I can skip to find out.

My 1yr validity for drop box expires in Dec,is there anything I can do if I don't get a drop box appointment before then, can I drop off in abuja if there's a closer date, can drop box appointment be expedited?

Someone pls help with options I may have

For those asking about biometrics, apparently you are not required to anymore where the one you provided is still valid......that was not the case when I did it last month, it clearly said you were still required to....I guess they changed the rule.
Thanks for this!

Really interested in the answer to this too,but I guess the answer will be to call CIC to find out,if they ask you not to bother, your fee will be refunded later on.

Thank you jare. we have tried that option too, den don sabi me for BC and MOD sef. Hubby set don rewrite, the guy is tired.

Its just the thought that with unaccompanying spouse the score should be higher but this one wey our own no wan follow the popular theory dey make me think whether there is something we are not doing properly.

To get CLB 10 is not beans sha o.
Heyaa, and you only need about 2 marks, if only u had done unaccompanied before turning 37..

Hello people,

I thought that if you apply as married, you have lower points than if you apply as single/hubby non-accompanying.

Oya epp me torchlit this scenario o

Married (PA), 37, Masters, IELTS - 8.5,9,7,8(LRWS)
Hubby - Masters, 7.5,8.5,7,7
CRS - 439

But if it is spouse unaccompanying, the score drops to 434. Is there something we are not getting right? pls assist.

Thank you.
Accompanying will be 439 while unaccompanying will be 435.What you can do is to retake ielts and get 7.5 where u had 7 while maintaining other scores, this will take you to 442

House Biko Nu, I have my IELTS and ECA ready, I am the MAIN APPLICANT. I am still awaiting my husband ECA from IQAS.and we all know as IQAS can be as regards delay. My question is cant i get registered in the EE pool now then when my husband ECA is ready, I go edit and Input it.

If the House advice that i can go ahead with this, what am I suppose to fill in this case, should I fill NO for husband ECA report then when its ready i go to edit and then i fill the ECA Number
Exactly as you wrote up there is what you should do. All the best

Thanks for this.

However, is this possible even if I’m not using my salary account for POF? Money never ever remains in that account.
Isn't your employer giving you reference letter in the required format? If they are, that's all you need to prove work experience, pay slips is just an additional doc,not a compulsory one.
I'm in same situation as you and I'm not using my pay slips.

.

If you cannot do without to the hustle and bustle of Lagos, then Halifax might not be for you. Calgary has a huge Nigerian community after Toronto, it is also more affordable in terms of house prices and cost of living when compared to Toronto and Vancouver. This might be the place for you. Don't be dismayed if you also don't like the city you land in, gather some experience while you there, then package yourself and research where to eventually call home.
Very insightful, thanks

So I have come to testify. It is not a PPR, ITA or IELTS testimony. Lol but for me it is a great victory!
Finally ABSU has released me from its stronghold. My ECA has been awaiting ORDINARY VERIFICATION since February 2018.
WES has finally acknowledged receipt of the said verification. I'm so excited! ECA to be completed on the 12th of October. I'm beyond elated.
So happy for you..congratulations

Congratulations @mepconsultant!
