NESCO is an early example of a private electricity firm. Glad it is still there.(Did not live in Jos , but heard of it).

I loved living in Jos because of the constant power supplied by NESCO. Even with the constant and steady power supply our electric bill was better than that of NEPA.

The answer is yes. I have experienced it in Nigeria. I grew up in Jos, Plateau State and we used NESCO to get our power and we had power 24/7. If we would be without power for any reason the let us know and for how long the power outage will be.
People in Jos are still enjoying it.
