FreeStuffsNG: Subsidy is gone and gone for ever. Worse case scenario, they will rather load from Dangote Refinery if the price favours them if you understand this report Subsidy is gone, you claim, yet NNPC is buying fuel from Dangote at a SUBSIDIZED price. Are you people certain of these claims you make? Everyone knows the price ought to be determined by international price but somehow Dangote agreed to have NNPCL decide what price to pay for the product. Where does that work? We still haven't heard the details of the Naira-for-crude deal either. We were made to believe, by Dangote, that the reason he would not buy crude directly from IOCs was because the crude was sold to him by them for a profit. Meaning Dangote, by this deal he made with the FG, sought some sort of subsidized pricing for his purchase of crude oil. Let's please consult reality in our claims abeg! |

MIKOLOWISKA: Why don't ipman tell us the price? Dangote would be the one to release the price of his goods to all individual members of IPMAN, is what IPMAN is saying there. He said: “Prices are determined by international pricing. Dangote is supposed to be saying like every day, ‘This is the price I’m going to sell this product’. “But he cannot be able to do that unless he (Dangote) engages the stakeholders. And you cannot just say okay, we must only buy in his own depot. “IPMAN cannot just sit down and say ‘We will tell our members, all of you go to Dangote Refinery and buy your product and load’. We cannot just do that. This is a deregulated system. We have to source where products are much cheaper. Then we would inform our members to go and load product in any depot that the product is cheaper. “If Dangote has a product and is selling N1000, let’s assume, and there are other places that are selling N900. We can’t just say because for the sake we are doing business with Dangote, ‘Okay go and do it’. It’s not profitable to us. We must go where the price is lower; where we get profit. That is it.” Continuing, the IPMAN scribe added, “We are in a deregulated economy but Dangote is like trying to monopolize the whole issue. Fine. Let us know if there is monopoly in the whole system. But we believe that it’s now deregulation. “Like last week, Dangote’s price is higher than other places. Because if you can go by the price, the international price, crude has already started coming down. The price one day may not be the same the next day so Dangote, not IPMAN, would need to release the price to his buyers. |
Politics › Re: Price Of Dangote’s Fuel Higher Than Other Sources, We Have To Pity Nigerians by Kobojunkie: 4:40pm On Nov 01, 2024 |
nairalanda1: ■ Simple. NNPC Is selling fuel at its stations at N1000 or more. If IPMAN buys from NNPC, they would be forced to buy at that price or close to it, and be forced to sell at a higher price...meaning they eventually lose out to NNPC If they buy from Dangote directly, they may not get the cushy deal Dangote gave NNPC(Read between the lines. Dangote is not going to sell them fuel at a favorable price that would enable them to compete with NNPC). That means they may have to buy fuel at over N1000 from Dangote, or more....and then eventually, they have to sell fuel at a retail price higher than the NNPC retail price to survive. SO, roughly speaking, here in the FCT where I live, NNPC stations would be selling fuel at N1000 while IPMAN is selling fuel at N1300. Already, for ages, queues in NNPC stations were longer than those at IPMAN and major marketers. See the wahala. There is no mention of NNPC in the OP article though. Rather, IPMAN is insisting that Dangote reveal the pricing of his product directly to individual IPMAN members so they can each decide, in this deregulated reality they wish to pursue, whether it is profitable to purchase from Dangote or not. |
Politics › Re: Price Of Dangote’s Fuel Higher Than Other Sources, We Have To Pity Nigerians by Kobojunkie: 4:30pm On Nov 01, 2024 |
nairalanda1: ■ I thought as much The issue is, NNPC is still the middleman. IPMAN Has to buy from NNPC, which would make fuel in IPMAN stations more expensive than NNPC. ■ Also, something tells me that Dangote would not be as generous to IPMAN re sale price as he was to NNPC, especially as oil prices are slowly rising again. Either way, na game of chess. 1. This assertion of yours makes no sense. 2. This makes no sense at all given your initial assertion! |

Family › Re: Train Up A Child The Way He Should Go And When He Is Grown ....... by Kobojunkie: 4:00pm On Nov 01, 2024 |
Nnamdipapa: The above topic is very popular in the Bible studies expecially as it relates to families raising children. Growing up in christian and very religious family, I have had this verse quoted over and over again and, most of us have come to believe this as a kind of gospel thruth. Now looking up, we quickly realize the verse is replete with assumptions like the phrase "train up a child", like, what kind of training is being implied here. Also, " the way he should go" , what does the above phrase mean in connection with child training... The thing about religion, including Christianity, and the many overlords engaged in it is you are bound to get coming out distorted ideas than the original messages fed into them. Take this verse taken from Hebrew Scripture which you referenced. "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it" — Proverbs 22:6.The key to understanding the verse is to understand what The Way is about. The words were spoken by an Israelite to an Israelite audience, a people whose understanding dictates that the only way given to them by the God of their ancestors is the Law of Moses by which their very nation was established. What this means is that to an israelite during the time in question, to train a child in The Way was to train the child to live by the Law of Moses. The author of the above verse suggests that training the children to follow The Way provides a guarantee that they will not depart from it when they are old. Are there examples of this to be found in Hebrew Scripture? A good example is Samson who was strictly raised by both his father and mother to follow and live according to the stipulations of the Law as a child. The Law was the Supreme Law of the land, and so raising him to abide by it was sort of molding him into a law-abiding citizen of the nation of Israel. It was their duty by law to do just that and that is what they did — nothing religious in all of it. When Samson was older, he continued to abide by the Law of Moses, going as far as to attack the enemies of Israel. Of course, he did stray but before his end, he came back to the very Law which he was raised to abide by and ended his life doing what he knew of it. |

lionshare: They only need to ban cash dollar deposits across all channels and I suspect this is a precursor to that. Even if you choose to cross border you’d have to concede some losses with a chance of losing your cash because if any LEA finds you with cash around the border OYO. Ban dollar deposits across all channels? What about foreign currency accounts? Or do you mean something like restricting people to having to first convert foreign to local currencies before maybe depositing it into either a checking or savings account? I am trying to make sense of this supposed ban. If hoarders are those whom they are after, why not restrict people to certain amounts rather than instituting what seems like an all-out ban? Even China has yet to attempt any such. |

He also disclosed that in the last five days, no fewer than 11,000 beneficiaries have received ₦3.5 billion from the consumer credit scheme. Bobloco: ABUJA – MINISTER of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun has disclosed a new government policy that would permit Nigerians who are keeping dollars outside the banking system to bring those funds into the financial system. Edun, said such individuals have a nine-month grace period to comply with the directive without attracting legal liability or financial penalties. The Finance Minister disclosed this while briefing journalists at the end of the National Economic Council, NEC, presided over by the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, at the Council Chamber, Presidential Villa, Abuja. So, if I have $2500 in a safe somewhere and if I don't move that money into a bank within 9 months the law would come after me. Why? How? What for? |
