treesun: ■ The former Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa on Wednesday donated N1 billion as endowment to the people state. Bafarawa ruled the state for eight years, between 1999 and 2007. He explained that the gesture was born out of his desire to to ensure he fill whatever gaps he might have created while in office. “At 70 years of age, I feel a greater pull towards the people. My desire now is to ensure that I fill whatever gaps that I may have created, consciously or unconsciously, in my relationship with the people while I was in office. “Some may call this atonement, but I prefer to see it as an act of reciprocity. I want to give back to the people the goodwill and love they showed me. NPA partners APM Terminals to grow non-oil export by 25% H-1 2024 Onaiyekan flays Tinubu’s reforms, says middle-class becoming poor “At no time can this giving back philosophy of mine be more suspicious and compelling than now that the people are passing through hard times occasioned by the current hardship in the country. “It is against this background that, I have decided to make available the sum of N1bn for the welfare and well-being of the people of Sokoto State,” he said. He however sought for forgiveness from the people for whatever wrong he had done during his tenure as governor of the state. Bafarawa explained that the management of this fund was entrusted to a committee chaired by Malam Lawal Maidoki, the chairman of the Sokoto State Zakkat and Endowment Board. Also speaking at the event, Sheikh Isa Talatan Mafara, advised the committee to consider internally displaced persons who need this support the most. Another cleric, Professor Mansur Ibrahim, enjoined Nigerians to be patriotic and work for the growth and development of the people. The chairman, Vision FM, Shu’aibu Mungadi, extolled the virtue of the former governor whom he described as a great leader. Imagine the thief giving his victims only Naira1 billion of the money he stole from them, this after ruining their lives and that of their children. I still do not understand why the people of Nigeria refuse to take the fight to the homes of these politicians who have contributed to ruining their lives and the lives of their children. |

Where do you want them to go? Is this actually a country, where majority survive like despondent orphans? Shame of a nation. What in the world do you mean? The emergency plan is to give them rice for their pain after the damage has been done. What other emergency plan are you all waiting for from this rice-promising-but-never-proven administration? |

Uprightness100: .... Chidi Nwakor @NwakorDaniel Last Friday, the General Overseer of The Lord's Chosen, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, held a burial for his second late wife in Orsu, Imo State. The event was striking for a number of reasons, but what really caught my attention was the mix of attendees.
In the videos making the rounds, you can see Pastor Muoka, relaxed, taking pictures with red-cap chiefs and dignitaries. Now, here’s the twist – many of his local followers would see these same chiefs as symbols of idolatry, "worldly people," or even as the embodiment of evil. In fact, if you’re not a member of their church, you might be labeled an unbeliever. Imagine the reactions if an ordinary red-cap chief walked into one of their services! Yet here they are, mingling with the Pastor himself.
Let’s talk about the seating arrangement too. At the dining table, it’s clear—this is a spot reserved for the chosen few, and by that, I mean the billionaires in attendance. Meanwhile, outside is where you’ll find the rest of the congregation, who seem to have been relegated to the "Mopol" section. 😎😎😎 Funny how I didn’t spot a single chosen Mopol at the dining table. Are they being served outside?
Oh, and did you catch the assortment of drinks being served at the pastor’s home? It’s a reminder for some Christians to be wise. It’s 2024 – let's not be swayed by religious doctrines.
“Nwanne, chase the bag ooo... Gaaa Chuba ego please!” Practice your faith with common sense. After all, religion and wisdom should go hand in hand. |

The same people he named Worldly and Sinful. But those who have been swimming inside poto-poto couldn't even come close to the burial ground. The man buried two wives. If say na for oyinbo land that one happened, the man would be investigated for possible murder. And more times than not, such men are guilty of just that. 🤔 2. You religious folks are so incapable of critically processing what you believe. He literally declared over and over in the 5 books that He wrote that the Law in question applied only as far as the Israelites in the Land of Canaan which YHWH promised to them. ( YHWH even called Himself God of Israel— and not of any other people of Nation.) Yet, here you are insisting that I am the imbe_cile for pointing this obvious fact which has been in existence for thousands of years to you, and revealing how your claim to that Law makes absolutely no sense!! Benbellamor: ■ sorry the Topic is not about Jesus, its about ...The Law Given to Moses to the Isrealites about Taking Another wife.....can you kindly keep to the Topic and not try to divert from the Topic. you can create a Topic for Jesus opinion about Marriage...so lets keep to this...thanks Pay attention to your own Post, please. You quoted Jesus Christ to suggest that somehow divorce was a problem in the Law of Moses — Moses gave the law of divorce to the Israelites (descendants of Jacob). Jesus Christ never in fact said divorce was a problem in the Law of Moses. So, why the contradictory belief that you hold to? Second, you pretend you can apply the Law of Moses to life, but that Law was specifically given only to the children of Israel — the bloodline of Jacob — as a Constitution in the Land of Canaan. (The Law does not even allow Israelites to marry foreigners from any other group aside from their line.) Wetin or how that take extend to you, a Nigerian living in Nigeria? Is it that you believe that YHWH who swore by His name that HIs only inheritance in the land of men was a liar? Is it that you believe that Moses was a deluded slowpoke who did not know what he was saying even though it was through him that the intention of His God was revealed? |
Christianity Etc › Re: God's Requirements For Taking A Second Wife In Law Given To Moses by Kobojunkie: 11:25pm On Sep 17, 2024 |
Benbellamor: Jesus allude his teaching on Marriage to the Mosaic Law which also frown at Divorce, so Jesus Advocated for Dont send away your wife and Marry a new one, but rather keep her, while the Mosaic Law says Keep your first Wife if you want another, give the first all her Dues....But today many like you are forcing Divorce on Marriage before a man can Marry another wife, he rather keep both. Jesus Christ also said He did not come to change or abolish any of the teachings of Moses. So, again, is Moses Jesus Christ, or is Jesus Christ Moses? Try to reason your claims there. If Jesus Christ changed what Moses had previously decreed then it means Jesus Christ lied and you an eejit for quoting Him. If you wish to believe that Moses may have made a mistake when he allowed divorce in the Law that He gave to the Israelites, then it means Moses was not speaking for God and you are foolish for quoting Moses. So, what you suggest here is contradictory — fallacious — and there is a big problem there, don't you see? Also, this is all aside from the major issue which is that Moses gave his Law specifically to the descendants of Jacob — not to any other people on earth, while Jesus Christ also said He was sent only to the Lost sheep of Jacob— you literally have to be of the bloodline of Jacob to qualify for those Laws you quote. Why are you, a non-descendant of Jacob, insisting on Laws that have nothing to do with you? Are you part of that particular bloodline? |

There is no culture without its own Ogun, Oya, Osun and etc that manifested in those ways when alive. People generally revere (worship?) the spirits of their ancestors world wide. There is no reason to leave your own ancestors and be propitiating other people's but religious people don't know this. 1. It doesn't matter what they are or were so long as they are the deities worshipped by the Yorubas. |

I think all cultures agree on that but some, starting with Jews believe only the supreme God should be worshipped and you should not say even hello to angels. ■ The Yoruba have orisas who are just outstanding humans. After their death, their spirits are worshipped. God is not sacrificed to at all because no one knows its favorite food and the belief is that God is too distant. It will be like a pupil going over the head of the class teacher to report to the President 1. Wrong! Not all cultures believe what you claim. 2. The deities of the Yorubas are worshipped by the Yorubas alone. The same pretty much applies as far as other ethnic groups in Nigeria. So when a Nigerian uses the word "God", the sensible thing is to inquire as far as the identity of said deity. |

Olodumare, Ubangiji, Allah, Chukwuabiama, Jehovah and etc. They are all referring to the same entity which is the Father God not five thousand different ones What you described is impossible given all of the various deities all have different attributes ascribed to them in all of those cultures you describe. For instance, Jehovah claims He is God only to Israelites, so He cannot be God also to Nigerians since He made clear His only inheritance in the land of men are those born of the blood of Jacob. Is Jehovah a bloody liar?🤔 The Yorubas will tell you that their gods are not gods to other people so, I think you should try to closely reassess these ideas you hold to realize how thoroughly flawed they truly are in the face of logic. |
