Bobodee09:Your courts are attempting to assert an illegality here and you have not learned that when these things happen, na all of una dey suffer am? Section 109 of the constitution is clear as regards this particular issue and the lawyer is well in the right to have filed the case against those senators. By defecting, they essentially invalidated the mandate given them by the electorate and should not be allowed to continue in office no matter when the issue was realized. ![]() Let me guess! You don't in fact live in Nigeria so you think you are removed from all of these issues created by a corrupt judiciary? ![]() |
gigabyte13:The suffering impacts everyone when the wrong person is elected. The country as it stands is a very good reference to all those who would think it makes sense to sit out the election. Na all of una go suffer am! |
ReubenE:The Constitution does not state that there is such an allowed period though. The court is in error. ![]()

Wisdomkosi:I am in shock that there are those who paid without questioning the legality of such a fee. |
maxiuc:How did he master this art of rigging? What is it? ![]() By the way, if the people of Imo really didn't like Hope Uzodinma as their governor, why didn't they simply demand his impeachment? There has not been a call for that in all of this time. Complaining and doing nothing else is an exercise in the meaningless. ![]() |
Donake:I am afraid I don't follow! ![]() |
Racoon:Did the 27 Senators in fact illegally defect to APC? Is there evidence to back the suit? I am trying to understand why the court is suggesting that because the suit was filed 8 months later — the Constitution sets no such time constraint — that it should be disregarded. ![]() |
Cromagnon:I don't follow! ![]() |
ogugwa1992:Aren't IREV machines to be used for the exercise? What use are the resigned sheets if it all instead depends on how many actual votes were recorded at each polling unit? ![]() Edo people, make una shine una eyes o! Hold your Polling unit offers and Collation offers at each unit responsible. Post their names and faces on social media from each unit so that if things go wrong, they can be identified, investigated, and prosecuted. ![]() |
Moderators, I was under the impression that all tribalism-laced threads such as this here should be moved to the Ethnic, Racial, Or Sectarian Politics section. Is this notion wrong? ![]() |

WorkTheTalk:Is this some sort of joke or parody of what took place earlier in the week? e no funny at all. ![]() |
Islie:Something does not seem right at all with what INEC has in place at this time. https://inecnigeria.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/REGULATIONS-AND-GUIDELINES-FOR-THE-RECALL-OF-A-MEMBER-OF-THE-NATIONAL-ASSEMBLY-HOUSE-OF-ASSEMBLY-OF-A-STATE-OR-AREA-COUNCIL-OF-THE-FEDERAL-CAPITAL-TERRITORY-5.pdf |
SmartPolician:Regardless of the decision made by the Supreme Court, the people have always had the same Constitutionally granted power to recall any and every elected official. So, if the people, for example, do not like the candidate chosen by the Supreme Court, the people have the power to remove said elected official from office by way of a recall or call for impeachment. That power has been enshrined in the constitution since 1999 and the Supreme court which also gets its power from the same Constitution can or should change that. ![]() |

CodeTemplarr:The power to recall them kicks in from the moment election results are declared. So why did you not recall those whom you claim never won the election? Nigerians always had that power but refused to use it. Even the power the courts have cannot topple that power bestowed on the Nigerian people by the Constitution. So, it is not their fault for remaining in offer after rigging themselves in but the people's for allowing them to remain. The mandate belongs to the people and the people can take back their mandate from any candidate whenever they wish to. ![]() |
toprealman:This here is a clear case of bad citizenry. You refuse to use the powers bestowed on you by the very Supreme Law; you would rather cower in fear and whine all day to no end. ![]() |
EmmyDJourno:The answer to your question is yes. The electorates are allowed to change their minds at any time. That is why the ability is recall them is embedded in the Constitution —section 69. ![]() |
RaptorX:Una no dey shame when una dey spew these brain-damage induced jargons? ![]() |
Softmirror:He does not need the money is the main here. ![]() |
Nigeria recognizes Nigerians in the Diaspora. Does that equally mean that any Nigerian anywhere in the world can simply get a NIN, sign up for a voter's card, and join in on the process of recalling these useless senators and representatives both at state and national levels by way of a petition on the INEC website? ![]() |
malali:Victim bought himself a yacht and a plane and somehow he is a victim? Are you folks for real? Why do you love to remain this cowered by these morons? ![]() |
All these tribalism-laced threads should be moved to the appropriate section abeg! We need to be done with that bullsheet at this point. ![]() |
[quote author=NLCreator post=132084169]Video are the kind of wake-up calls Nigeria needs . ![]() |
Softmirror:The guy likely lives in China. ![]() |
GanagiBitrus:That should be the right cause of action but when the offenders are themselves police officers, more is needed. Bringing them on social media — where people can anonymously drag them for their wickedness. Social media can help move things in the right direction when they are reported. This I have noticed works better. ![]() |
chatinent:You should have responded by saying you are even better as you are a citizen and covered by your Constitutional right which is the Supreme Law of the land. ![]() 2. Please, if you happen to capture his face or even his name — any personal information about him including his home address, his parent's home, etc. would not be a bad idea — and post it online so Nigerians can get him and others like him humiliated for disregarding the law you quoted. Social media can be a platform where these people can be humiliated and made to feel a portion of what they dole out to the Nigerian people regularly. ![]() These cruel monsters who contribute to making Nigerians miserable are not ghosts and they live among the people. I think it is time they are exposed and even humiliated by the people they stalk. Hopefully caused to lose that job that makes them think of themselves as gods over the people they are meant to serve. ![]() |
Zonefree:No man is greater than the people who supposedly elected him! ![]() |
Shawarmagirl:All Nigerians should have done this a long time ago. Even the call for the immediate impeachment of all those who rigged their way into office should have been carried out right after the elections, but Nigerians did nothing and this we see today happened to them yet again. All of this could have been avoided! ![]()
|
Islie:Finally, some commonsense! This is an exercise that should begin even before the protest, one that even those who do not show up to protest can engage in to show they disapprove of the situation in the country even if in a cowardly way. ![]()
|
ikpumbe:Your warnings did not stop them now all of you are equally paying for it all in the end. So of what tangible value was this warning of yours that you continue to glorify? It isn't una life but everyone's life that the limpness of your so-called warning has severely impacted. African man, save yourself from your kind of foolishness abeg! ![]() |
Aremwayne:And how is the quality of education these ward of yours receive? ![]() |
