voiceofpaul: ✓ No, that's an unacceptable excuse. Why can't the FG ix their own 4 refineries! Why wait for Dangote! Isn't that hijacking? Hijacking ke? They helped him build it so surely they are part owners. Una don check list of shareholders for that company? Something tells me you will find the names of a lot of Nigerian politicians on there. |

We shall not be silenced, and we shall not be intimidated. We shall rise in unison to demand a better deal for Nigerian students and the masses. “We urge you to take necessary measures to maintain law and order during the shutdown, as we assure you that our protest will be peaceful and lawful.” The last time NANS execs were paid off by the government not to protest for an end to bad governance, how many of their members, nationwide, got a share of the pie? This protest na because NANS execs never receive pay off yet, abi no be so? |

MadPolitician: ✓ By creating artificial scarcity beforeintroducingDangote, they will ultimately fix any favorable price rate once the new supplier floods the whole place with his oil. Thats why Dangote himself has surrendered the right to fix the selling prices to the same people in power. Na paddy paddy arrangement as usual This is what i suspect likely happened with all that blaming of scarcity on thunder and lightning, rain and bad roads, and angels and demons going on some days ago. |

Can’t NNPC just focus on their own 4 refineries? People shouting Dangote is a savior are not ready to accept the man may be in on the plot against Nigerians. Yes, a part of it all. |

IfnobeGod20: You're the one displaying ignorance here. For cry out loud this guy is an investigative journalist and he is not anyway restricted to getting information no matter how hidden such information is. Any classified information he got, meaning it is not classified and those in custody of such should take the blame and not a journalist doing the work he was trained to do. It's only if he is working for such organisation and he reveal such sensitive document, then, he has breached oath of secrecy and he is liable. Before you reply me, take to cognisance the word 'Investigative Journalist'. This is infact addressed in sections 27 and 28 of FOIA. |

ObaofKwara: ✓ The Deputy Senate Leader and Senator representing Kwara South, Arc Oyelola Ashiru has commenced installation of street lights in communities within the senatorial district. Senator Ashiru's team has installed Solar-powered streetlights in Oro and Ajase-Ipo (Irepodun local government) as well as Epe Opin in Ekiti local government area. Our Correspondent gathered that the Light up Kwara South project will installed in many other communities. In addition, major nights market in Kwara South will also benefit from the ongoing solar light installation. The installing of streetlights would curb insecurity and engage residents to improve their business activities. Recall that Senator Ashiru has facilitated similar projects and transformers to some communities inline with requests. How do we verify these claims made abeg? |

voiceofpaul: Do you think that NNPC becoming the sole buyer of Dangote's petrol is an economic sabotage move against Nigerians? Should Dangote Refinery be responsible for selling its petrol products directly to whoever is interested? Source: https://voiceofpaul.com/nigeria-fuel-crisis-nnpc-buying-dangote-petrol/ The other day it was announced that NNPC has a debt into the billions it needs to resolve. How else is it going to do it if it allows Dangote to sell directly denying NNPC the opportunity to tax the people so as to resolve the debt? I hear it is in the amount of $6 billion dollars. voiceofpaul: No! Why is Tinubu and the NNPC jumping on Dangote’s products! What happened to their own 4 refineries?! After all the many lies? |

RealityKings: ■ Don't learn the hard way... That's the first rule of living in Nigeria if you are nt a politician. I learnt the truth of the Nigerian system when I was just 8 years old. I had gotten into some trouble at that age and had to go give a statement at the police station, and it was there I found out about how knowledge is power. |

RealityKings: ■ Nigeria is a 3rd world country. There are no laws and no rights... Just avoid trouble... Well even if you avoid trouble in Nigeria, the police can still bring it to your doorstep That is far from the truth. The rich and the many foreigners who are in the same space that is Nigeria know their rights and the law and so are able to enjoy the place. The reason the poor think the place is hell has to do with their general ignorance of their rights and the law of the land. |

RealityKings: ■ Ok ma thanks for enlightening me Please take time to learn your laws and know your rights. The vast majority of Nigerians do not know their rights and their laws and for this reason, ignorant policemen and politicians use their lives to play war games with. It really pays to know your rights. There is this dude on YouTube— Jude Bela..can't seem to find the video right now — whose video of his personal encounter with EFCC I watched some days ago. I particularly liked the way he stood up for his rights and fought to obtain compensation for all the troubles they subjected him to. If many more Nigerians would stand up to these bullies in government, much of this would be past tense at this point. Nigeria is in dire need of more Nigerians stepping up to stand against those who attack the people from behind government seats. |
Politics › Re: Nigerian Police Charge Whistleblower Isaac Bristol 'pidomnigeria' With 9 Counts by Kobojunkieee: 9:30pm On Sep 03, 2024 |
RealityKings: But why ma Because a criminal case is defined in a manner different from that you suggest there? A criminal case involves a violation of a law considered harmful to society, where the government prosecutes an individual for committing a crime, while a civil case is a dispute between private parties regarding a personal matter, where one party seeks compensation from another for damages caused; the key difference is that criminal cases can result in jail time, while civil cases typically only involve monetary damages. According to you, PIDOM made false allegations against the Ooni. That qualifies as a civil case in which the Ooni himself would need to file a suit in court against him. |

Before that make una go check work to be certain what he claims even now is what in fact happened. Why Abians allow that man to roam free is beyond me. I remember calling that man out back during my early years on Nairaland. To find that he, and many others who were implicated by even the EFCC back then were promoted not to prison but to Federal status I find very shocking still. |

abc115: For the first time in 28 years, Nigeria has commenced petrol production at the Dangote Refinery, NNPC to determine the price for now. According to a source “NNPC is going take the whole cargo of fuel from Dangote therefore they determine the price since subsidy is still in play” Since when did Dangote become Nigeria for Pete's sake? Also, NNPCL reported that it had identified over 60 refineries running in the same Nigeria. You mean say none of them have produced petrol in all the many years many of them have been running? |

Nigeria Labour Congress said they accepted N70k minimum wage, because N250k will mean fuel will be increased to N1000 per litre. What happens now? The Government never even begin to pay Nigerian workers the Naira 70,000 but fuel don already hit Naira 1000. Ajaero messed up big time! |

Moroccoguy: They will still find another way to squander the money. Read the report. It says to reduce their salaries, not their allowance which has always been the main issue. Additionally, the President was able to obtain the additions to the presidential fleet using his service-wide fund— presidential pocket money of about Naira 4.2 trillion, which is almost 3 times the amount budgeted for the education of over 75 million children in the entire Nigeria for 2024. Will that equally be done away with? Think! |

It is a shameful thing that some people are rejoicing over Trump up charges that have no bearing in law, thereby wasting the guy and court time on frivolous charges. I don't know why they are making mockery of the system. They don't know that just activity lower the rating of our judiciary and police in the wider world.
