➜One of the most debated questions in modern family life is, "how best can a child be disciplined?". Some school of thoughts think spanking a child is very important while others think it is outdated and a form of abuse. But the question is, "can a parent successfully train a wholesome child without some spanking at one time or the other?" From what I have read and seen all my years, I have not seen a child that was not spanked in correction in some way that turned out very whole in every sense of the word. You may have seen but I have not seen.

Kids not spanked always seem to turn out very disrespectful starting from their home. A lot of them treat their parents like rags because there's no parental awe that can discourage them from being disrespectful.

If Nigerian context is all you have, then your argument is severely flawed, given the country is riddled with corruption at all levels, an indicator that spanking does not raise what you refer to as [i]wholesome/disciplined [/i]children/adults.

The only understandable issue here is that religion— the doctrines and traditions of men you hold to — requires you to utterly reject that which is plainly stated in the text which you pretend to quote from to assert an interpretation— a spin, entirely removed from the message intended by the authors of the individual texts — that rather aligns with the doctrines of your religious overlords — your gods of men— in its place.

I would say a 2. I didn't get enough books to read. The local library was not well stocked and closed much of the time. There were no computers and not a lot of mental stimulation for a child interested in accumulating knowledge back then. I had a lot of questions, but there were not a lot of answers to satiate my desires, and that dogged me through my childhood. I also struggled with anhedonia from as far back as I could remember, so I didn't find pleasure and fun in a lot of activities. But I did my best to play the usual children's games with the other kids, so I wouldn't look so out of place.

Again, my previous questions to you remain unanswered. The Septuagint was written in the Greek language, similar to much of the other Scriptures that were written in the first century. This is a human language, and once translated, it does not require interpretation. Why do you believe it is OK to apply an interpretation where the authors of the various texts never suggested or required any of that?
