The Middle Belt Solidarity League (MBS), on Tuesday, condemned the Nigeria Labour Congress's (NLC) call for the release of its President, Joe Ajaero, and demand for reduced fuel prices, labeling it as ‘hypocritical’.
MBS criticized the NLC for remaining silent when fuel prices were increased to accommodate their demanded salary hikes.
In a statement, MBS Chairman Fidelis Riyom and Secretary Martha Bako called on all Nigerians of good conscience to oppose such actions, regardless of the individuals involved.
They said: “The NLC's sudden concern for fuel prices is a smokescreen for their true intentions protecting Ajaero from accountability for his treasonous activities. Their claim that the Department of State Services (DSS) is targeting labor leaders is baseless and a desperate attempt to shield Ajaero from justice.
