You assume their cows feed better on grass and so they should stick to areas where there is grass. Am I wrong? |

Kushites: ■ Not really sure I get what you're saying, or that you get what I was saying. My point is Nigerians need to hold their STATE GOVERNMENTS to account. Their state governments receive TENS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS CASH EVERY MONTH in allocation from Abuja. ■ But every problem the people of the state have, they blame the FG, leaving their state governments to steal freely, knowing that the people will blame ABUJA, the President, and ''NIGERIA'' for their problems. Example: A state lacks pipe borne water. It's not the fault of the state government whose job it is to provide pipe borne water to its citizens. No. The problem is ''NIGERIA''. Just because they amalgamated you with Sokoto and Kaduna. That is why your state governor in Anambra or Ondo or Abia is a useless thief stealing your funds and doing nothing. Let that make sense. I doubt Burna goat even knows the name of his state governor, not to mention his LG chairman. But he knows ''NIGERIA''. And ''TINUBU''. Rubbish. 1. It is no secret that the average Nigerian is not civically educated. This problem stems from a dilapidated and destroyed Educational system that is barely funded at all levels of government. 2. I agree with you that all arms of Government should be to blame for the problem — the LG, State Governors, and the FG. Not just one. |

kanupapilo: ■ True...tribalism was worse under regional government. It was! Look at the States today for an example of what to expect if Nigerians were to back regional rule. In many states, as it is, ethnic tribes are mostly left out of government. In Abia State, for example, the majority group in the state are the Ngwa people found in nine local government areas of Abia State, namely: Obingwa, Osisioma Ngwa, Isiala Ngwa North, Isiala Ngwa South, Aba North, Ugwunagbo, Aba South, Ukwa East and Ukwa West. Most of the governors in the state since 1999 have been from that one group and the minority people in the same state are not happy about it at all. But they at least have a chance to get one of their own into the State and National Assembly as well as the House of Representatives meaning some needed additional constituency money from the Federal is bound to flow into them if all goes well. So, what do they have to gain from a regional governmental arrangement? |

Kushites: ■ Don't mind these stupid Nigerians. Miserable idiots. Somebody will be moaning about ''NIGERIA'', meanwhile his state governor is banking their monthly allocation, and buying mansions in America. But no. The problem is not the governor and his thieving state colleagues. The problem is ''NIGERIA''. People in SOKOTO. ''NIGERIA'' made your state governor, who you all trooped out to vote for, to loot your state funds. IDIOTS. BURNA SHOULD GO AND FCK HIMSELF. I have to disagree with you there. The problem is instead the people. Democracy is the government of the people by the people, after all. Rather than take the helm — sit tightly in the driver's seat of their government —, for the last 25 years, Nigerians have instead occupied a docile seat in the union leaving the goats — their elected officials — to roam free and without a necessary leash. The corruption and decay we see today are the result of that docility. The British had nothing to do with all of that. |

Arostar2023: ■ Dissolution of the union or going back to regional governments. That way, if your tribesman misbehave , you can easily remove him from office without been accused of tribalism. Nonsense! Stop swimming in what are fairy delusions! When Nigeria had a regional governmental system back in the 60s, did tribalism disappear? No, It was even more pronounced then. Majority ethnic groups within each region situated themselves as rulers and masters over the minorities and marginalization was the order of the day. That is one of the reasons for the unification decree of 1966 by Ironsi. Most Nigerians, many of them members of the minority ethnic groups, did not even fight that change because they had nothing to lose with regional rule going away. So, why would you demand that now except you are either ignorant of the country's past or you are confident that your ethnic group is part of the majority that benefitted the most from it. Make una no dey pretend say history no dey there to teach una fact from fiction abeg! |

Morbeta11: He noted that Nigeria as a country was never meant to exist and it is “nothing but the result of a bad business enterprise entered into by the British”, nothing “but the collateral damage of a business deal gone south.” He noted that “the area called Nigeria was first known as the Niger Area before the Royal Niger Company acquired it. “After it was acquired, the Royal Niger Company decided to amalgamate the North and South as against running them as separate entities, and it was at this point that the country Nigeria was birthed. The Afro-fusion star noted that “when the amalgamation was going to happen, the Niger Company and the British who sold Nigeria didn’t take into consideration those living in the region. “The two entities that sold and bought the Niger Area, the people living there were nothing but collateral damage.” Nonsense talk really! You don't hear South Africa and Zambia crying, do you? They were all amalgamations formed by the British. Nigeria's problem isn't the British but division amongst the people sponsored by the political class who employ a divide-and-conquer approach to ruling over them. |

nairavsdollars: Investigative journalist, David Hundeyin has confirmed that whistleblower, PIDOM NIGERIA who had earlier been declared missing is currently in police detention in Abuja. In a post on his X handle, Hundeyin's update reads "After coming under immense pressure from the Nigerian public and an intervention involving @Mazi_OJD, @YeleSowore, @adeyanjudeji , @Adebayo_Ralph and myself, @PoliceNG has confirmed that @PIDOMNIGERIA is alive and well in detention at FCID Abuja. A member of our intervention team on the ground in Abuja physically laid eyes on him a few minutes ago and she confirmed that he is alive and well. According to the Police, he will be arraigned in court next week. We are requesting a copy of his charge sheet so that a bail application can be prepared. Nigerians must keep the pressure on so that this goalpost does not shift". Interesting! |

pacesetting: First, I said House of Assembly members, not member. Now, how do you go about recalling all the members. Secondly, Nigeria practices democracy only on paper. What is happening in real life is highly different from democracy. Remember that it's on record that INEC and the Supreme Court said Tinubu won Rivers. ■ If ( a big IF) you succeed in recalling all the house of assembly members through the so-called INEC, who is certifying the new ones as duly elected? Same INEC right? ■ Welcome to Nigeria where a military take-over or a civilian revolution are the only two options remaining. The second option is a much better one, in my opinion. 1. Constituents in the 109 senatorial districts can simply submit a petition to INEC to have their member recalled. 2. The Nigerian system is primarily fked mainly because the people of Nigeria have remained uninvolved up until now in the running of their democracy. (Democracy is the Government of the people by the people.) So, what you say is happening in real life is what should normally be expected. There is nothing out of this world about what is happening in Nigeria. The ones who are meant to be at the helm of things — the people— have refused to be involved in the running of their government so it all makes sense. 3. But it is not on record that the people have stood to demand his removal from office since then. I have, to this day, not heard the people clamoring for his impeachment and his administration has committed several impeachable crimes, mind you. 4. Well, I doubt if the people were to recall someone like Akpabio and demand his immediate prosecution as well, any new members would dare to go against the people. But, if that happened, the people could simply impeach that one too — rinse and repeat— until they find the candidate of their desire. People running businesses don't usually think twice about firing incompetent workers, so I see no benefit in Nigerians holding on to proven incompetent workers and thieves for that matter when they could get rid of them and try with other candidates. 5. A military take-over is a lazy option because the military has nothing better than the same old looting spree and corruption to offer Nigerians. A civilian revolution is needed because the people of Nigeria, from the beginning, chose to take the backseat to their revolution. In essence, they are to blame. |

pacesetting: Is it the house of assembly members he personally chose that will impeach him?: If your assembly member does not do as you want, you can recall him! Recalls are done via INEC and not via the House of Assembly. If at first you don't succeed, try again and again, until you get what is your right. That is how democracy works!
