Exousiang01: ↪ They are communal lands. And the lands are not forcefully taken from the owners, they are paid in cash or in cows. When the herdsmen told you that they own the lands they were not lying. That is why you didnt see any traditional ruler come out to challenge them. The problem is the fulani man ia uneducated and he didnt know he would need documents, he felt a gentle mans agreement was good enough… Many Nigerians dont understand what is really happening What herdsman says they own what land? What are you talking about? What communal land? |

The Nigerian Judiciary for that matter. If Imo people do nothing as usual, Hope will likely install his crony as the next candidate. We have seen it happen time and time again in other states. So, people need to wake the fk up! |

Also, for the sake of fruitless armchair argument on the internet, can you provide say, the last 50 judgments of the supreme court and list the ones where they have abandoned the constitution. ↪ Please keep in mind that even in the most advanced countries, interpretation of lines of the constitution are often at variance with multiple judges. You are silly for asking me for the last 50! 🤔 2. You get dictionary at all? In which language do you find the word Sidestepping having the same meaning as the word Interpreting? 🤔 |

Shikena: ↪ Our reactions to technical decisions may be influenced by our cognitive biases and limitations. While the Supreme Court's decisions are bound by the Constitution, they also involve the application of legal principles and interpretations, which can be subject to varying perspectives and judgments. Please stop already!↪ Again, your Supreme has numerous times sidestepped the Supreme Law of the Land when it comes to their rulings. They have abandoned the Constitution on enough occasions for that group to be considered a rogue/criminal group up there at this point. What you have right now is a corrupt justice system that disregards the very constitution in probably almost half of its rulings. |

You can't be a governor of a state and suggest you can be removed from responsibility as far as corruption and crime during your tenure. That is preposterous! In Asian, American and even European countries, office holders step down when they realize they have done a terrible job. Shikena: ↪ Supreme court is not village square with elders breaking kola and judging based on sentiments and emotion. The legal profession is about intricate technicalities, procedural frameworks, and established norms as integral components. You could be right and still fail to prove your case in court. Yet the current Supreme Court (with Kekere-Ekun as one of its members) was exactly what you described. The Akpabio and Lawan decision made by the same Supreme Court not long ago is another example. Of course, there are several other examples of the Supreme Court sidestepping the Constitution to mention as well.

nairalandkachy1: ↪The supreme Court has affirmed the re-election of Hope Uzodinma as the authentic governor of Imo state. The apex court dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party PDP and its governorship candidate Samuel Anyawu and that of the Labour Party and it’s candidate Achonu Nneji for lacking in merit. And to date, there is no record of the people of Imo demanding his impeachment. Really sad! It is the same in almost all 36 states of Nigeria by the way. People don't demand the impeachment of their bad leaders even when the Constitution hands them the right to do so as many times as they need to succeed(if you fail try again and again until you succeed). |

And Nigerian ladies with yahoo mindsets have been its biggest beneficiaries in the west. That statement in bold is ludicrous! Marriage in the West is not destroyed at all. Rather, it has adapted to the realities of life and living in the 21st century for both genders which is something most people desire and continue to fight for; a system that works for them, not a system imposed on them by some ancient generation that they have no real connections with. |

To this day we have had no explanation as to why the so-called traditional rulers have instead taken to negotiating with these herders instead of completely having them evicted from the local lands. This is a possible reason and should be investigated rather than being tossed out as you would prefer for reasons best known to you. We are talking here of the same traditional leaders who on numerous occasions have been noted to have taken bribes from politicians so what makes you believe that the deal they had with those politicians did not include accepting herders in their communities? |

Is the owner of the land made aware beforehand of the fact that his land would be used for such a purpose by the traditional ruler? Why should a traditional leader collect any amount from them without first designating a fenced off area in his community where this rent collected is to apply? |

Davidic1999: ↪Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, was denied entry to the United States following a 2020 controversial judgement that declared APC’s Hope Uzodimma as Imo governor. According to a document obtained by Daily Independent in 2023, the justice was one of those who had nullified Emeka Ihedioha's victory of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and declared Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the rightful winner. A seven-man Supreme Court panel, led by former Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Ibrahim Muhammad Tanko, issued the ruling. The court also instructed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to revoke the certificate of return given to Ihedioha and instead issue it to Uzodimma, who was subsequently sworn in as Imo State’s sixth governor on January 15, 2020. In a letter signed by Jay M. Sorensen, the American Consular Officer in Abuja, U.S. authorities stated that Justice Kekere-Ekun’s visa was denied due to “sanctioned activities.” Former Cross River Governor, Donald Duke, had earlier mentioned on Wednesday that U.S. authorities had rejected visa applications from several judges intending to attend a Judges Conference in the United States.
