abbey621: ■.... This discussion was never about US being better than Nigeria for minimum wage workers or vice versa, it was about petrol cost and how minimum wage workers are affected the most in either countries due to expenses......Your unintelligent attempt to equate your charity lifestyle to that of the average American is way off point! I had to yawn my way past your usual uninformed ridiculous claim. 🥱🥱🥱🥱 Anyways, your initial attempt to somehow equate life on minimum wage in Nigeria to life on minimum wage in the U.S. That, as I have already shown is not and can't be the case unless the Nigerian Government were to first ▶ Increase minimum wage to levels that compare to that obtained outside of Nigeria, for instance in the U.S. where you had attempted to compare it to ▶ Provided subsidy programs such as healthcare and even food subsidy programs that allow those on minimum wage to not only thrive but have a chance to raise themselves from that point up ▶ Upward mobility training programs many of which are geared towards ensuring that those at the bottom can get the skills needed to raise themselves through necessary training... Until these are put in place, you can never and should never equate life on minimum wage in Nigeria to life on minimum wage in any developed country out there including the U.S.A. 🤔 |

Lekan239: ■ any1 can do it, but it's not expected... why would any reasonable person thinks getting a car on 1,200 dollar earnings per month is an ideal plan. Only kids does that.. Are you 1? My first car in college was a car I bought for $500 which I bought at an auction. I drove it for approximately 3 years without problem and it served me well. I barely made $300 each month at that time but I saved up to buy that car since I needed one at the time. I had work and school, and there was no true bus system in the town at that time. 🤔 What part of that decision makes you think I had to have been a kid? 🤔 |

@ivandragon abbey621: ■ When I said donor what the hell do you think I mean, abi pantry is not a food bank? Basically you're saying you live on welfare and you're comparing yourself to the average American....Stop insulting my intelligence! ■ Even when my wife lost her job for some months she couldn't qualify for welfare so I repeat you're not the average American. ■ Let me illustrate it properly for you: 1. Housing: You need two roomates 2. Food: You rely on welfare 3. Health insurance: You rely on welfare ■ You're not an average American, you're a charity case and your situation is excluded from the main conversation! 1. Now I am absolutely certain you have never been to the U.S.A. yourself. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 2. I have never applied for Welfare, now referred to as TANF. I have never had need of that since there are other freely available programs out there for even illegal immigrants to take advantage of that would more than suffice for anyone who reasonably wants to get by. ▶Deciding to take on roommates since you cannot afford to foot the rent bill all on your own does not equate to being on welfare. It is actually considered common sense out here and anywhere else in the world 😁 ▶The foodbank is available to everyone as there is no qualification necessary. It is taken advantage of by pretty much anyone who finds himself needing to tighten the belts at any time, so sorry.. not Welfare. A good majority of Americans had to rely on the food bank during the COVID shutdowns. Even illegal immigrants take good advantage of it. 😁 ▶The Affordable Care Act (ACA) made Health Insurance mandatory and expanded the Medicaid program to all those of lower income. So, I am not sure why you think that this subsidy should be considered Welfare when it is available to pretty much all those in the lower wage brackets out there. 😁 3. It's ok how you wish to consider me a charity case since I have been able to pretty much dash all ideas you thought you had at your disposal to use in arguing foolishly against the other commenters' statements. Sorry!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Life on minimum wage in America cannot even be compared in the slightest to life on what constitutes slave wages in Nigeria. |

Ttalk: ■ CBN has some level of autonomy. For example CBN is the only agency that it's budget is not subjected to NASS oversight and parliamentary scrutiny. However, a it's accounts can be audited from a pronouncement of the parliament as the case may arise. In this particular case, CBN grossly violates its own rule especially in area of lending money to individual without disclosing to the details of the transaction. Thats enough ground for NASS to initiate a probe into CBN dealings with Dangote's Company According to the Central Bank of Nigeria Decree No. 24 of 1991 section 2 & section 37, the bank is a banker and financial advisor to the Federal Government and also a banker to other bankers. Section 2. The principal objects of the Bank shall be to - (a) issue legal tender currency in Nigeria; (b) maintain external reserves to safeguard the international value of the legal tender currency; (c) promote monetary stability and sound financial systems in Nigeria; and (d) act as a banker and financial adviser to the Federal Government.
Section 37: The Bank act as banker to other banks in Nigeria and outside Nigeria.http://www.commonlii.org/ng/legis/num_act/cbond199/ No entry indicates it can or should operate as a banker to individuals. |

Already, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) will start lifting the product from Dangote Refinery today barring any unforeseen circumstances after NNPCLagreed to lift petrol product at N960/N980 per litre and sell to marketers at N840/N850 even though it is unclear if uniform product prices would apply at filling stations nationwide How in the world is that cheaper is the recently-raised NNPCL price of fuel? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 |

sslcrypt: ✓ It might not necessarily be the case, most might be renegotiated terms on failures to pay previous tenures from past administration. Since bonds tenure runs longer and also we don't know the full scale of the terms and conditions associated with the buyout. A lot of foreign investors use multiple prong approach of utilizing bonds purchase. While purchasing bonds they are tying a payback to some form of repayment on backs of physical assets via subsidiaries in form of cooperations. Anyway FG bond can't be defaulted on Ok. Just wondering how the country, in the state it is today, could be said to have gotten that amount from bonds in just 10 days. |

CorrectionFLuid: Ok I get you now. 1. The project is a private investment by a private citizen. 2. The ogun government claimed it as its world bank partnership agric development project. Probably to use it to get more world bank funds. 3. A private investment can't generate money for the state government, like Ogun government claimed. 4. The assistance given to the farmers through seeds and fertilizers has been going on even before the current administration, it's not a special world bank assistance. And that most states do same, not just Ogun. These seeds and fertilizer are shared by the FG via the state governments. 5. The farmers took loans that will be repaid by them, and not the ogun state government or the world bank. This is still jargons to me as it does not address the accusations raised by Mr. Bello Z. You can't mansplain your way out of holding your Governor responsible should it turn out what Mr. Bello Z said is fact. So, please spare me this gibberish abeg! |

You people are just full of sheets is all! Go read the main complaint made by the Bello Z. man in the first report. Read it carefully, and then come back and tackle the real issue instead of trying desperately to deflect by claiming it is all about the government providing assistance or support — subsidy — to farmers, something that has been ongoing for many years now. Every year for as long as we can tell, the Ministry of Agriculture, for instance, distributes fertilizer and seeds to various governors for the benefit of farmers. Tractors and other farm machinery were made available from over a decade ago in many farming states as well. If Mr. Bello Z has retracted the claims formerly reported, post that video or message, rather than videos of farmers who may not even be related to the property in question. Government assisted or subsidized projects are not government-owned and certainly not for the government to claim the achievement. Certainly, it is not the government paying off those loans but the farmers. |

Lanrelagboi: ■ Days ago, People's Gazzette wrote a news report saying a farmer in the Ogun State rice Farm cluster said the Ogun state government lied and tried to pass off his rice as a world bank and Ogun state government assisted project. That report has been denied by the farmers themselves who said they in fact got support from government and world bank. The farmers who were full of praises for the support they received also mentioned that their aim is the assist Nigeria achieve their food independence goals and also provide cheap food for the populace with the expansion of the cluster from 200 to 400 hectares. They also denied unequivocaly the reports that the government didn't give then any assistance. What I wonder is why media houses will just attempt to mislead the public. Why will they choose to not thoroughly investigate matters before publishing and giving the people news that isn't entirely trust. I personally find it disturbing and utterly shocking that this kind of thing still happens in Nigeria. Please watch the videos This videos done on July 7th 2024, shows the offloading of fertilizer to be used by the farmers ....This video was done as late as July yet the said agency didn't feel the need to look at it before they came to their false conclusion and narrative. The remaining videos are of the farmers confirm that the report was not true and they clarified the situation of matters Are these farmers in the videos the very same farmers who farmed the 220 hectares belonging to Mr. Bello Zabarmawa— aide to Kebbi State Governor— or other farmers in the same Ogun State who equally farm rice?
