Nwanne, I am a proud "Nwa Afo" to the bone, with no apologies and I have a lot of respect for Dayo because of our history and I have never shied away from admitting it. However, I can not deny that I am not troubled by some of his past utterances about my people. There is a difference in holding a strong and unapologetic position about your tribe versus spewing extreme, dangerous, divisive and dangerous narratives/ rhetoric/ comments about a particular tribe.

Christians and Muslims don't worship the same god.

Each of these deities is different, with distinct histories. Only those that don't know the history of Yahweh and Allah say they're the same.

According to the Bible, Yahweh gave birth to Jesus Christ. But according to Qur'an, Allah gave birth to no one, which is one of his most important attributes.

Saying Muslims and Christians worship the same God is tantamount to stating Israel's Herzog is the same as the Saudi Arabia's King Salman, but both are different individuals being the leaders of the two Asian countries respectively.

In history, thousands of gods have been worshipped by humans, including Atum, El (or Elohim), Baal, Ra, Allah, Olorun, Jehovah, Zeus, Ahura Mazda, Mithras, Chukwu, Sin, and many others.

Each of these gods has all claimed the title of God at one point or the other in history. Thus, it's incorrect historically and etymologically to say Allah is the same as Jehovah.

Most Christians pray to the pagan god El or Elohim thinking they're praying to Jehovah. But both are distinct entities with different histories.

I just laugh whenever I see all these pastors shouting El-Shaddai. They don't know El or Elohim was an adversary of Jehovah.

But the clever writers of the Bible plagiarized the writings of god El, importing concepts like hell into Christianity, and also copied the religious texts of Mithras and those of the ancient Egyptians.

Hundreds of years later, Muhammad also plagiarized the Bible, especially the Jewish writings, to get Qur'an.

Also, before Jesus Christ, the fictitious character designed by Rome to dominate other nations, there had been many Kristas that claimed to be the savior of their people.

Most religious people don't carry out objective research of the history of the god they worship. But it's very important.

See ehn, religious argument is never about changing the mind of people having that argument, but those who aren't having it at all.

You really can't change the mind of people having the argument. Even if there is any change of mind (pride and conviction won't let them accept that they they changed their mind) but you will notice it in the way they argue further on different topics that something has changed.

It's the same with football.

But the purpose of religious arguments is to change the mind of those who are reading the arguments with open minds those who are not even participating at all but held some beliefs or the other and just want to learn a thing or two about some topics.
That's why atheism or a form of it has been on a steady rise in Nigeria even though it was ridiculous or practically impossible to see such people in the past.

I became an atheist from a devoted Christian who never misses church by reading these arguments.

But I would love if they move it to religion section though, cos argument about religion never ends.

I have personally learnt a lot from this thread. Some times you come on and the argument is very boring, sometimes you come and it's like you are in learning class. My own is just to be on the sideline, taking note. I no want talk, next thing begin dey catch stray bullet. but I love the thread. Definitely one of the best.

Reading this thread makes me believe some of these guys here will literally support Osama buying Chelsea as long as he can spend money on players and will lick his ass in the process.

Life is not as simple as ABC. It is not black and white and nobody should be thinking like that. The guy is right when he points out that abrahamovic is a very shady guy, I don't know about the murdering part but it has always been obvious that he made his money via shady means but again that's just about the way of the world. Now my problem with him is his selective condemnation. This same person has been praising the British government and Western democracy since, making them appear flawless. Is it not the same people that allowed the abrahamovic into their country in the first place? They knew he was shady but allowed him to spend his money there and enough time to build up a vital part of their economy, then when it's convenient for them, they begin to form holy holy. It's a gross display of wickedness. If Britain allowed Osama to own a big football club, you can't blame people who begin to fan Osama.
That's why I think he's partly right and wrong. His boring criticism may come from a good place, but it comes off as hypocritical and a "holier than thou" attitude. Nobody wants to see that. You can't pretend to suddenly notice that your owner is shady. It doesn't work like that.
