Sugarboyy: But in the SE, Tolu has done better than Boniface, Onuachu and Sadiq
Only Osimhen has done better than other center forwards,Tolu hasn't done much to be rated about others...we need a striker that we can rely on if Osimhen is not available, that position is still for grab,Akor came in and snatched it from Tolu but big question can Akor continues,so consistencies just the issue
NIGHTMARE0O7: i cant blive you people are removing chukwueze again over lookman This must be juju.
Same lookman we have been palying in all our Qualifiers without result and nearly missed out until 2 yellow cards save us from lookman .
If Nigeria miss blow thier last chance bcoz of this Lookman fever nobody should blame the players. Becoz there is ablosolutely no reason lookman should be on that field over chukwueze. CHUKWUEZE & SIMON should be maintained until otherwise
Since my experience of watching football coaches has always maintained using THE LAST TEAM THAT GOT U RESULT UNTIL IT FAILS
Normally,Nigeria starting XI should be Nigeria XI against Benin ,having LOOKMAN on the bench good but very in form LOOKMAN will start in Nigeria team....Chelle should gives us players that will do it
Who brought this here.... who's Ibrahim Chatta in Nollywood to be earning such fat day pay, even in yoruba industry he is not amongst the best five,so on what grounds...
ObasaHF: Mali has long been a volatile country . When I visited Gao in the northern enclave it was more of the tuaregs controlling activities openly.
Now despite the so called military regime nothing positive has happened.
Mali had better go back to Democracy and back to ECOWAS perhaps an ECOMOG force can help finish up these bastard's.
Pride will not let them. The Military Leaders in Mali is guilty of not identifying and differentiating their real friends friends from real enemies.
ECOWAS would have been a better partner for them. Their affiliation with France prevented ECOWAS from fully assisting them. Now that the French have gone, they should bury their pride and approach their African Neighbors for needed aid.
Also, why don't they instead construct a Pipeline that will limit the need to use Trucks to ferry these Petroleum Products?
I have always said that the move to exist ECOWAS by the AES States was very immature and hasty.
A Landlocked Country doesn't have much bragging rights. That are susceptible to being harassed by other Countries having advantage of being adjacent to the Ocean or Sea as the waterways assists the supply of critical materials the Country needs.
They are now facing the reality of being Landlocked. If Mali Falls, Burkina Faso is next the defeating Niger Republic is the easiest task of all.
Truidstarr: All these players playing for Eastern Europe no dey move me. You remember Igho ogbu wey dem over hype for here. Shame no let the same people mention e name now in search for backup defenders. I no get anything against David Moses, Goldfish no dey hide, if e good he will move to a better club.
Bossoflife25: I watched Akin every game this season. Seria A is not what it was years ago. Playing against 41 year old Modric and Fofana and winning MON against Florentina doesn't equate to suceeding in the box to box role on the continent. David Moses is better suited for our current plan. Akin is good but not what the SE needs at the moment. Simple. Akpoborie. Ekoku, Ikepa etc were good for their clubs but not really for the SE. You should know this. Ciao!
Hmm,now seria A no be league abi,a young player won MOTM against Fiorentina but is nothing to you...
Haha, Akinsanmiro never had a cap with eagles you don classified him along Akpoborie,Ekoku bla bla..
Mujtahida: 😂😂 I am indifferent to Awaziem oo. If not that the coach mentioned him, I don't think I would have.
Apart from Balotelli, Italy doesn't give black players much attention. Remember one igbo guy that Italy used in the friendly we played on the road to 2014 WC. Afterwards nothing for am. So Kayode should be wise oo and now is the time.
That's Ogbonna, very solid CB, playing for Nigeria then would have boosted his career with national team legend. He had few caps with Italy, there was also a Igbo guy too,a striker that played for Italy, very few caps.
Awaziem is good on the ball but any other things as CB i can't vouch for him
In fact, this same Bolaji Abdullahi under whose watch as Commissioner for Education in Kwara State, a lot of Teachers saw hell, is here questioning Mr President over appointment of Service Chiefs? Is that position meant to be monopolized like it was under General Muhammad Buhari Tenure?
yinkus6750: It's all about superiority between both of them. However, the Ooni was made to speak first , before the Alaafin. This has been playing out on most occasions that both parties are present. Ooni is always recognized to speak for the Yoruba race. Thank God that Pa Adebutu settled both of them at his 90th birthday. I hope it ends there.
Who told you there was any fight? It's a normal grudge between the two Royal Custodians of the Yoruba Race. If you were born in the 70's, you will understand that both their Predecessors had similar experiences between them. I can tell you this because I witnessed it first hand before they finally embraced each other during the Coronation of the Current Olofa of Offa in Kwara State. So, rest easy and stop promoting a grudge that has no foundation.
clarocuzioo: Even their obas are not left out in their hate and show of shame. Look at what supposed custodians of tradition and culture are displaying. sophistication my smelly ass
Are you Yoruba? If the answer is No! Stop taking Panadol for someone else's headache. Who told you that they are quarreling? How has that information benefited your destiny?
semid4lyfe: Elder kog45 don come with his nostalgic fondness of the past. If no be say Aina and Osimhen make your team I for talk say you dey stuck in time.
Me, I no rate all those oldies. I watched tapes of old naija matches, and I got the impression they were hyped beyond their prowess and ability by Ernest Okonkwo and other ace commentators of that era.
Those were the days when radio commentary used to run simultaneously with the matches on TV, and if you no dey watch the ball and were listening to only commentary, you'd think Odegbami or Adokie was dribbling the entire players of our opponents.
Na hype job all the 80's set be. As far as I dey concerned, the really skillful Nigerian players emerged in the 90's. This is further buttressed by the exodus to Europe of lots of players to play professionally, and the eventual AFCON victory in 94.
I know this kinda thing is subjective so I respect your list but I truly think there's no way any Nigerian player that played predominantly in the 80's is better than those that played in the latter decades.
Adokie Amesiemeka ❌ Segun Odegbami ❌
I repeat it no super eagles winger is better than Segun Odegbami......na monster Osimhen comot baba from all time 2nd highest goal scorer
Adokiye, well Amunike can compete with the Law but I prefer Adokiye
The only minus from the duo was that they didn't leave this country for pro but they're qualified Engineer and Lawyer respectively and doing well
Goke7: That Oliha substitution till today I don't really understand, as we had an Ikpeba on the bench, I think this was when everyone got fed up with Westerhof, as folks started suspecting foul play by the coach.
But the Italians sha they quickly figured us out by injuring both Amokachi and Amunike. These are lessons we should take to heart when attending any World Cup. A solid plan B when our key players are out, because even in 2018, the French folks took Onazi out, and that's when we crumbled.
We lost that match due to what happened between Siasia and Oliseh during training. It was normal training bust up but Westerhoff didn't managed it very well....Siasia was dropped from starting XI and Westerhoff vowed not to use him in that match...after injury to Amunike and Amokachie, Westerhoff brought in Adepoju and Oliha, left Siasia on the bench.
Cocony: I know their team. Before the arrival of Finidi George, Marc Overmars was the Right attacking winger which was the point I made. Fact check videos of Ajax before Finidi came.
Yes,Overmans versatility pushed him to the left to accommodate Finidi.
Goke7: We suppose flog this Italian team like 3-0 if only our strikers had utilised some of those passes from Okocha
Oh very sad day for me,even till date I hate watching the match...Oliseh due to inexperienced cost us the game, all he needed was a simple tackling but wanted to win the ball
Cocony: My Super eagles all time XI 1 Goalkeeper-Vincent Enyeama
2.Right back- Efe Ambrose: Defensively and offensively astute with a minimum to zero rate of gifting the opponents dangerous freekicks or penalties.
3.Left back- Ben Iroha: Injury prone but top notch in his performances barring France 98.
4.Center Back- Stephen Keshi
5.Center Back- Uche Okechukwu
6.Defensive Midfielder- Sunday Oliseh
7.Central Midfielder- John Mikel Obi
8.Attacking Midfielder- Austin Okocha
9.Right Wing Forward- Finidi George It's rare to see someone move from Sharks in Nigeria to Ajax and displacing a known Marc Overmars. All these on the basis of National team contribution/significance.
10.Center Forward- Victor Osimhen: Despite not winning AFCON yet but emerging from Serie A as your teams goleador. And replicating it a season later with another in Turkey yet consistent in European main competitions and effect in the National team makes me drop YEKINI for OSIMHEN.
11.Left Wing Forward- Emmanuel Amunike.
If I didn't explain on certain people, to me they were and are still simply astounding to be compared
Finidi George and Overmans used to start together, during 1995 Champions league runs,it was Finidi to the right Overmans to the left
Mujtahida: Baba, you have watched the Eagles far longer than many of us and have seen players come and go. I'm curious as to why chose Ola Aina. Not a criticism oo. I'm just curious
Yes Ola Aina and Victor Osimhen of this generation made my XI...ON Ola Aina I used his versatility on both wings to pick him over Austin Eguavoen,Efe Ambrose,Childi Odia, honestly i would have picked Childi Odia
TheGoodJoe: Contrary to your take, Jay Jay Okocha was up there in talent and understanding with the likes of Xavi and Iniesta. Just that he did not play in the right system to bring the best out of him.
This clip below, will give you an idea. As much as I prefer Mikel Obi's approach to the game, no denying Okocha is the greatest footballing talent to play for the Super Eagles.
Jay Jay Okocha will continue to make eagles all time XI in the next 100 years, only minus in his career was his club career, imagine such a talented player played for Bolton
Cocony: My brother, Ezenwa was not a newbie going into the game against Cameroun in 2017 on our way to 2018 WORLD CUP. After being part of the 2007 U20 TEAM BOTH AFCON AND THE WORLD CUP FOR U20s HE HAD BEEN A REGULAR IN THE NPFL. YES ENYEAMA WAS NEW BUT NOT JITTERY AND WAS ALREADY TESTED IN A FRIENDLY AGAINST KENYA AND HAVING LOST OUT ON QUALIFICATION, THE RIGHT THING ANY COACH WILL DO IN HIS 3RD MATCH THAT WILL NOT CHANGE THE TURN OF EVENTS AS PER QUALIFICATION IS TO GRANT APPEARANCES TO SOME OF HIS PLAYERS. ENYEAMA WAS NOT JITTERY, COCKY NOR DID HE DISPLAY ARROGANCE TOWARDS ANY OF HIS CAPTAINS IN THE SUPER EAGLES.
Hmm,tested against Kenya in a friendly and ready for WC...my university coach discovered Vincent Enyeama,so I know much
Cocony: The statement Kog45 made:EZENWA was not even regular in NPFL. THAT WAS AND IS STILL FALSE. THE SECOND STATEMENT THAT ENYEAMA WAS A ROOKIE IN NPFL WHEN HE KEPT AGAINST ENGLAND WAS AND IS ALSO FALSE
Sir,I don't have energy for front and back argument...am sorry but fact, have been watching eagles as Green eagles as far back as 1980 and from 1983 am able to know more about what's going on in the field of play, just to tell you that I will never support your argument based on Nwabali club status or league....I followed the NPFL traveling watching the league....Pls who was the first choice between Dele Aiyenugba and Vincent Enyeama when they met in Enyimba?
Pls define rookie for me
Yes Ezenwa was not regular in NPFLwhen he kept against Cameroon
