Yes & will be very effective too, reason politicians are fighting it. Those who have stashed up old notes for vote buying can't obviously do so with the new notes. U should ask yourself why politicians capable of throwing money around are fighting this, it will seriously affect their vote buying capacity.

And what happens to the economy after the election? Have you thought of it? Who even told you these politicians don't have the new notes already? They have access to it morethan me and you.

Lover of the corrupt drug baron

My problem with some of you on nairaland is your myopic way of seeing things. Just because I stated my point I've become a "lover of corrupt drug baron". If truly this policy is against the so called drug baron then why won't Buhari use that power you claimed he has to arrest a common man for depositing his money at the bank to locate where the "drug baron" hid this humongous amount of cash he wants to use to buy vote? Why punish the rest of us along with the drug baron?

Know that CBN now ONLY accepts the old notes but you will get NOTHING in return. So if you come to a bank with the old notes they will refer you to go and deposit it at CBN in your states bearing in mind you will not be credited

You think we are in the military era? The president, CBN and all of us are under the law. Buhari don't have such right except he wants to see what's morethan #EndSars protest and this time it will be the whole country (including the north) against him. Eventually, the right thing will be done and nobody will lose money.

Finally I found someone that reasons like me.. The top three contenders are all thesame. For Atiku and Tinubu we already know what will happen if any of them wins but If you think Obi will spend this much flying here and there with private jet and helicopters, funding one support group or the other, paying hotel bills etc only to come in and "save Nigeria" then you are very naive. These politicians see politics as an investment, they are all thesame.
