MFME7: Greetings guys. Need your counsel on what to do about my car horn.
Pressing it is very hard. I thought it was the fuse and checked, still the same thing.
Car is 2003 Toyota matrix, first car.
Kindly assist with your valuable insight please
Test the horn itself and if it is working, check the wiring as well, if no open in the circuit or bad connection, then the last culprit would be the clock-spring
watch this video, so you can guide your technician during replacement
nickyosas: Good afternoon. Honda CRV 2008 recently started having this problem: The AC works fine while driving, but once it comes to idle or at at a traffic stop light, the car suddenly shudders with a drop in the rpm and in some instances dies. I start it back on, and it work again till the next stop sign and it happens all over again. I have scanned and there no codes. i would really appreciate your comments.
Do you experience the same problem when the AC is off?
rollout40: Good day bro, My mum's 2007 corolla has been serviced by her mechanic with 20w-50 for over 5 years. Recently the low oil pressure light came on. He said he has cleaned the oil filter under the engine, changed the oil light switch, cleaned the engine of sludge and tried about three different oil pumps (1 brand new and 2 tokunbo) yet the light has refused to go off. What's your advice?
Chae: Gazuz, my civic 08 consume fuel, av scanned it everytin was OK, we've check if there's a leakage notin of such happen, can abs also affect the consumption of d fuel? because it was only abs light that was ON every other tin is intact, I scanned it with different scanner, no any single code, Pls help o
If you are in Gbagada area , I can help you do a fuel trim analysis under various drive conditions. I use to own that version of Honda civic (mine was 2008) and I know from experience that once the fuel trim is out of whack (even with no check engine light) it can consume fuel like a v6 car, which is really weird.
The 8th gen honda civic comply with the ULEV (ULTRA LOW EMISSION VEHICLE) regulation for modern motor vehicle emission control, unlike corolla and other japanese car of it era, what this mean it that it fuel management system emphases more on getting closer to complete combustion than incompete with more pollution.
Hence the ECU will choose any of the extreme fuel trims from the fuel management table if it suspect or get wrong signal from any of the sensors even without check engine code.
Drazman: @kingreign What is your take please. Someone is telling me that big daddy Camry consumes much fuel. I am finding it hard to believe considering that Lagos roads are filled with this car.
In it class, the fuel consumption is ok, if compare to smaller displacement 4 cylinder engine cars like 1.8L Corolla, yaris etc, then yes it consumes more and when compared to higher displacement engine (even with more cylinder), then it consumes less .
Rwand: Good Afternoon. So I bought my first car 2yrs ago and I wasn't so enlightened. I knew it was important to check the mileage of the car before making purchase but I was finding it hard reach the person who was supposed to help me run the vin and more, during that process, the dealers kept telling me it wasn't necessary to run vin, what was important was checking the chassis and engine for leaks and blah blah. At last I ended up buying a car with 330k miles on it. And in my opinion I didn't really have so much joy driving it, especially in the last 1yr. I was always already expecting what next was going to go bad and how long will I wait again before having to go the mechanic or electrician for one thing or the other. I've concluded that the high mileage on the vehicle was one major reason of reoccurring problems. Now I'm looking to buying a new car, direct Belgium and I'd like to know around what figure will be considered a good mileage to purchase. Thanks in advance!
For Japanese cars that were brought in as toks, try not to go below 130k miles, for Nigeria used apart from mileage, ensure it has not been used for more than 2years and dont trust whatever the seller says, test drive hard, scan, check the fuel trim, if the seller show any sign of poor car maintainace or lack proper car maintainace knowledge, please dont be afraid to walk away. You will see something better.
I drive a Solara 2004 2.4L with a 4 speed gear. Same setup with 2.4 Big Daddy Camry.
A rookie rewire fried my Brainbox and I got another one. However since I installed it, I have experienced a gear change delay and even pull back when accelerating from 2 to 3.
Should I change the Brainbox or should I see this as a pure gear challenge?
Since the issue started after you changed the brainbox, then changing it wouldnt be a bad idea, also please check to make sure it is the right one
Not a bad car if you buy a good unabused unit, as for performance it is fantastic, acceleraton is on point and handling and shifting are fine, the ac is very good.
Yes it is prone to coil issues, hence you will get one or two misfires, but change the bad coils and you should be fine for another year or two.
Hondas generally are packed full with sensors, one faulty sensor can throw your fuel trim off, so I will advise you to keep a OBD scan tool handy always and check your fuel trims at least once a month even if you do not have a check engine light.
I have also driven corolla, to me the honda drives better, but need more attention due to the sensor numbers (not that they occur all the time) and suspension component are not as rugged as the corollas though on the good side they are cheaper, parts like tie-rod ends, shock absorber rubber, shocks , control arm bushen tend to fail at least once or twice a year.
However if given a good Nigeria used Honda civic 8th gen for 1.5m and a good Nigeria used corolla at 2.4m, I will go with a Civic, keep the 900k set aside 300k of this amount to take care of the suspension component as they come up.
kingreign: What oil do you use and how long do you use it? For that code, you need to replace the VTC sensor by the right side of the engine, close to the engine side mount.
However, I suggest you clean that part to ensure no dirt or foreign matter is blocking the screen, then use a fresh clean oil after installing that part.
Hi boss, just removed it and sprayed with carb cleaner, re-insert and thing and code clear, thanks again chief.
Hi boss Kingreign, I open my car oil filler cap while engine was running and noticed a louder sound and air blowing my hand when I place it there, what does this implies

Hello chief kingreign, how do I resolve a P0010 error code in my 2007 accord, most of the video I watched on youtube pointed to changing or cleaning the variable valve control selonoid, but accessing is too tight.
