Religion / Re: Ten Lies The Church Tells Women by kokomuolo: 12:08pm On Sep 10, 2013 |
Well its been an interesting time bomb thread i must say. However, my little contribution to this looking at the from the bible view point is this. When God finished creating Adam, he sensed Adam's need for a companion and God proceeded to make a woman for him as a compliment. Now notice Adam's reaction to that surprise gift 'this is at last bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh' ..... and God saw that all he has made including the woman was good. The point in this little story is that God instituted marriage with the intent to bring companionship, warmth, procreation, appropriate headship and willing submission to that headship and an overall happy union and family life. Unfortunately things only went the opposite direction when the couple chose to lead a life without God's direction; and the result? Man's brutal, oppressive, domineering headship as found in many homes and women's campaigning for freedom and liberation. This is NOT God's original purpose for this institution. Look carefully, most successful homes today are built by husbands who have the mind of Christ and women who understand what SUBMISSION is all about. By the way which woman would want to liberate herself from peace, love and security? Truth is, homes will continue to be houses, marriages mares, couples, warring countries seeking for selfish sovereignty Children asking what brought them here until the only two genders created understands their roles in the institutions and agree to play them well. Point of note: Despite its beauty and blessings, MARRIAGE IS NOT COMPULSORY, it does not bring TRUE happiness, does not guarantee salvation, does determine personal relationship with God and other humans, does not guarantee self worth. LET HIM or HER WHO CAN MAKE ROOM FOR IT MAKE ROOM FOR IT 1 Like |

How sad that initial brilliant and well-intentioned projects just kiss the dust in no time. Yet when private individuals/companies decide to run the marathon the government cannot run, they kill them with unreasonable taxes. Man has really ruled man to his injury! |

nice.one:[i] And the atoms come from where and by whom? Does the mindless, unsound/illogical reasoning characterized by evolution adequately explain this? Does teachings of evolution and atheistic believe not confuse the more? Even Charles Darwin got confused by his own theory! Does our complex mind bugling universe not testify to the truthfulness of these words 'For his invisible [qualities] are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are INEXCUSABLE;? |

bittyend: I was in secondary school and that was the first day I smoked cheese. At first, I thought it was a movie or the cheese, but later found out that the Americans were the ones trying the stunts. Only to later blame it on the Arabs. Do i understand this to mean that America actually committed this magnitude of murder against ts own own? Pray to what end? |
Travel / Re: Boarding A Plane For The First Time (Your Experience) by kokomuolo: 6:30pm On Jul 25, 2012 |
This is one of the most interesting thread i have read in recent times. My ribs are cracking especially my bros wey put bag for "boot' of plane. Sha mine was in 2006 on official flight from Lag to Abj. I traveled with my senior colleagues on Virgin Nig. I was excited as a first timer feeling like Obama. My first shocker was the take off; i couldn't get a grip of myself i held my colleague's hand with my eyes tightly closed and asking myself 'who send me message?' As if that was not bad enough there was turbulence as a result of bad weather. O boy u need to see me moving my body in rhythm with movement of the plane and guess what? I fell off my seat. Come see laf for plane. i turn comic relief. For 1 month i no talk for office. Then in last Dec i traveled with my 3 yrs daughter who had been singing with 'mummy i want to enter aroplane' She couldn't wait to be searched at the boarding terminal as she quickly ran up the stairs. As she got in she started complaining ' mummy mummy the plan is not moving! mummy tell the driver to start it. Then came the take off. the song changed, mummy the plan is singing, mummy hold me i am scared. mummy should i pray? i want to wee wee. make una come see another round of laf for plane 7 Likes |

i dey laugh in pidgin for the two categories of people in this thread CATEGORY 1- COOKING IS NOT IMPORTANT IN MARRIAGE; MUST A WOMAN COOK; COOKING IS SLAVERY CATEGORY 2- I WILL TEACH HER; LOVE MATTERS MOST. for the married women who open their mouth to say that it is not compulsory for a woman to cook. just wait you no need adviser. By the time you born one and two, and get house help then all of una go dey go mama put or sweet sensation evry day to chop....hmmm no cry say 'MY PASTOR SAW A VISION AND TOLD ME THAT ANOTHER WOMAN IS GOING TO BREAK MY HOME. becos fasting and prayer no go help u. for the single ladies wey dey daydream; i beg keep dreaming u hear;your dreamland husband go understand say u be pepperless to cook. by the time u go wake up, menopause go don catch u. so sit down there they chew gum. nonsense |
Family / Re: How Was Your First Year Of Marriage? by kokomuolo: 12:12pm On Mar 23, 2012 |
hmmmmm a lot to remember. mine was not fun at all partly becos we courted 'from far away'. he was in Abuja and i was in Lagos and i never visited him until we got married! so you can imagine the process of having to learn him. While i am a very independent minded, he is liked a docile woman; he liked outing, i was on the homeside. To make matters worse, his business took him away most of the time. So it was a case of learning each other afresh each time he is around. During the period i was like oh gosh if this is marriage to hell with it. [/b. We argued and quarreled a lot. However, things gradually improved when i got pregnant and got better when i had our first baby girl. In fact i was really surprised at the role he played when during the period of delivery and its associated complications. He was by my side all through, saw him cry and pray dat i live. He refused to leave my side for the whole 2weeks at the hospital, barely eating. When baby and i arrived home dat was when love nwa tin tin started. He cared for baby like i ve never seen, changed pampers at night, carried baby when at home. Now both of us have matured in marriage and now am like gosh if this is what marriage is all about then am happy to be in. I learnt a lot in that first year and grew in a different way. Now each of us have come to realize that we ve been loved by the best and would not wish to settle for less 29 Likes 2 Shares |

Family / Re: Is It Right To Work For One's Father -inlaw/wife's Family?? by kokomuolo: 11:10am On Mar 13, 2012 |
nexeee: area fada....my dad is late..yet to tell my mum....i get along very well with other members of her family..infact her entire sibling all look up to me as their big brother..lol..the mum calls me her first son...they are really nice..Honestly most posters views are valid. My take is this: some families can really be nice however, life though has taught that if u have never lived or work with somebody u cannot determine the person's 'niceness'. You cannot be too sure of your father-in-law's niceness until you work with him. ISSUES TO CONSIDER Are you ready to take the risk of finding out what he really is on the issue of business and money? What is your plan B just in case things dont work as thought or expected. How do u think he would react to your rejection and how do you intend to handle him? Would working with him not expose some of your privacy (like him knowing how much u earn)and do you mind? SUGGESTIONS Since he wants to do business with you then deal with the situation professionally. Have a man-man, heart-heart discussion with him. Honestly express your concerns and state your conditions (likes and dislikes). For now forget he is your father-in-law. What you see here is a business proposal by a business partner. Keenly watch his reaction (and draw your conclusion) Discuss with your wife And take a decision. Wishing you the best |
