Who should win the 2018 FIFA Men's Best Player and the 2018 Ballon D'or? Cristiano Ronaldo? Lionel Messi? Antoinne Griezmann? or Luka Modric?

The past 10 awards have been shared by the two football geniuses, Real Madrid/Juventus' Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona's Lionel Messi. However, ever since the award was separated in 2016, Cristiano Ronaldo has gone on to win the award twice after having stellar seasons with Real Madrid in 2016 and 2017 which saw them win the UEFA Champions League back-to-back, FIFA club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup in that time.

A corper doctor shared his story on social media on the dilapidated nature of the Kura General Hospital in Kano. The corper also expressed his desatisfaction on how the hospital have chosen not to employ professional doctors but want to use corpers who they will pay a meager fee to suffer in line of duty.

"They want to get a doctor that would cover a hospital for 24hrs everyday of the week and (promise to) pay him 50k/month. Dangling his NYSC monthly clearance paper in his face."

Part of his complain include a skin disease he contracted in his line of duty at the hospital. This is because, the facility has epileptic supply of light, No Oxygen cylinder and just one doctor personel in the whole hospital including him they have refused to pay.

The complaint also shared a rather disturbing photo of his face showing the infectious disease he contracted in his line of duty with the inscription:

"In my line of duty as Corper Medical Officer in Kura General Hospital! No Personal Protective equipment - gloves, face mask. At the mercy of all infectious and communicable diseases."

Microsoft on Monday announced a new version of its Skype messaging app, along with a warning that previous versions of the software will be disabled after Sept. 1.

"As we roll out improvements, there comes a time when we must shut down older services and application versions," wrote the Skype Team in an online post. "This is done to ensure that all customers have the best possible Skype experience, and that there are no quality or reliability issues resulting from old technology and new technology interoperating."

Among the new features in Skype 8.0 is support for HD video and screen-sharing calls. Conference calls in High quality for up to 24 people can be staged in 1080p video from any device running Skype.


The Skype 8.0 will be available for Apple's iPad, Microsoft also announced.

Tech-farming is having its way into agriculture.

Recorded in small Central American nation, El Salvador, fields and large farms, mainly sugar cane are now being handled by drones. Large unmanned hexacopters fitted with 20-litre tanks for carrying fertilizer or pesticides follow pre-mapped routes and spray crops accordingly.

This isn't a case of new tech replacing old farm equipment - some of these fields are being sprayed for the very first time.


In a country where access to fields is often difficult for tractors and even planes, drones are showing great potential. On using drones to practice tech-farming and spraying large farms, yields will improve.

At the moment, most of the work with farmers in El Salvador is trial-based, but Hylio is covering a lot of ground. In one morning a single spray team can service 40 hectares - roughly the same area as 40 international rugby pitches.


Drones are touted as useful flying farmhands because they can, in theory, improve the precision with which fertilizers, pesticides or fungicides are applied. This is due to their ability to spray specific volumes on GPS-defined routes through a field.

The SARS menace continues and this time, it happened in Port Harcourt. A victim shared his story on how he was detained wrongly and robbed off his belongings because he looks young, bearded and was driving a flashy car.

What was his crime? his UK phone was riddled with regular, innocent text messages. The guy has been a flipping resident of the UK for the last 12 years, visiting Nigeria for the first time in 4 years, shown evidences of his residency, UK drivers license, PhD qualifications, Bournemouth University staff lecturer ID and complimentary cards, UK bank/credit cards and even old ATM and POS receipts in his wallet and his crime was, "A Yahoo Boy".

The combination F-SARS and Mobile Policemen around Mandela Car wash in GRA Port Harcourt must have extorted nothing less than N1m yesterday from Road users. I was a victim. I demanded to be arrested and taken to the station for our so-called offenses to be properly documented and treated...of course they vociferously, almost violently and shamelessly refused…they instead demanded ridiculous sums of money from me for my brother to be released.

Within that hour, I must have given his both lines over 300 missed calls. Because his lines were still on and no one was picking I concluded dude has been kidnapped seeing that there's no way if it was the police, they won't let him pick his calls to at least let his people know which station to come.
