To begin I do not live in Nigeria and I pay for any streaming or download here because I do not get illegal stuff here. I have been very supportive and #400 is too small compared to how much I pay for Nigerian stuff. Some of these people that I mentioned I have paid $200 or $1000 dollars for their shows in my neighborhood and in some places around the world and I move with my friends. We buy drinks and spray cash on these idiots that I am talking about. I am a hard supporter of promising Nigerians and I am not the type you had in mind.

Our artists do not deserve the millions that they are paid for singing over and mimin to auto-tuned songs playing on stereo and they have no internatinoal audience to market products. no live band no stage effects. no tax. standard of living is very cheap and low. fashion is cheap.

in all I am not asking for them to bring real cash. my own is for the to use the platform that we have given them to bring to light social issues troubling us. shekina
safarigirl:
the artistes ABROAD make cash from CD sales, downloads ETC.

Let me ask you personally, do you buy ORIGINAL CDs, I'm talking those that cost at least #400, cuz that is the least you get an original. When downloading, do you download from iTunes? Or you just download from free sites? Bearing in mind that entertainment law in Nigeria is moribund, can you guess how much these musicians get from Royalties and such if any?

Have you considered their cut in all this? Some months ago, people were shocked to find that Kiss Daniel was only making 30k/month, is that who is supposed to help the nation? Do you know how many of them are in such situations?

I already mentioned those I can, who have done something. Tonto Dike owns a foundation, they do charity work in Abuja and environs. Recently, she donated seeing machines and food stuff to widows. Lilian Esoro has a foundation, she has also helped in empowering women and kids. Linda Ikeji has employed about a hundred people for her TV station, she also has a yearly seminar she does for young female entrepreneurs, where she also provides them with start-up capital if they have good business plans. Don Jazzy does give-aways at least twice a year. He gives money, there was a time he even helped people pay for things they needed like laptops and cameras for professional use.

I am telling you all this, because the narrative that celebs are not helping is a bit exaggerated in Nigeria. It is not their fault that more youths would rather beg for a means of survival than create one

LOL you try but still it does not justify it because they said that at the end of the year, profit-before tax stood at N5.6 billion, from N3.72 billion in 2016, while profit after tax rose from N3.5 billion to N4.9 billion. Total assets stood at N32 billion compared with N27 billion in 2016.

profit on moved from N3.5b to N4.9b and asset rose from N32B to N27B. So how come the 233% increase? heheheehehehehe.

They need a new math accounting formula to prove this. The only way out is to tell us that they are the snake and Monkey that swallowed our money.
bigtt76:
Bulk of their 233% increase is as a result of more people subscribing to their useless platform to manage shares of other companies. Aside from this they don't offer any other meaningful service grin

Imagine during the recession when more people were buying shares, these guys were making money from those deals. The more the shares you buy or the more the share holders, the more money they make.

This is becoming unbecoming oh. This cannot continue like this na. If our law enforcement cannot protect us, let us amend the firearm act in Nigeria. let everybody be free to protect himself. If these men had their own defense, they would not have been dead by now. How can we live in peace in a country where people are slaughtered like animals in the abbatoir and no one is questioned, no one goes to jails for it. This is beyond outrage abeg oh. No be human beings be these? Are they not Nigerians?

Tinubu and Remi tinubu, are you not in this country? Cant you guys come out and explain to us what is happening? Atiku you are campaigning for President but you do not care about these killings. why are our senators silent? Governor bello is asking people to go and report to Trump. When there is no pressure group in a country, the ruling party acts as they please. no one tells them their wrongs. No one can talk becos everybody is scared of losing his position.

I agree. My question is, how can a company achieve 233% increase in a country that only met 0.8% increase as of March this year in an economy that about 50% of the investors are stalled or have pulled out?
They can only make that cash from oil company which is impossible because oil price drop to less than $40 or from the foreign trade which is not possible because investor make the naira grow and the FG has been pumping dollars in to our economy which weakens the Naira because all those cash pumped in were returned to foreign accounts through importation.

I just need an explanation because this economic theory is a new invention. It does not put together at all

Are you sure that you are the one who typed this?
make I just centre my comment for the one way I boldened. how do you think artists make cash? Where do they make the cash from? and why do artists home and abroad go broke when they become irrelevant?

Flavour has turned around the life of Semah G Weifur, the blind kid from Liberia. He isn't healing the world, but you cannot say he hasn't done a thing.

Peter had that Dance With Peter show, he gave four contestants cars, money and jobs. It's not like he had zero impact in anyone's life.

E-Money has been dashing people money left and right, it is not his fault that Nigerian youths are only innovative when it comes to means of begging. Very intellectually lazy lot, even if you dash them 1 million, they will still come and beg for more in a week's time. You need to visit his IG page to see them swarming his page like ants.

How many people want to work these days? They just want to beg for everything, the P Square and Tonto and Flavour, all decided to work for their money. If more Nigerian youths could do that, maybe we wouldn't need the so-called 'celebs' help as much. After all, they are also working for the small change they get. And most of that change is not from us buying their CDs, how many people even buy the CDs of these musicians? Less than 2% of the population go for their concerts. The only hand we may have had, is social media hype.

We all need to be sincere with ourselves sometimes. Everybody has a role to play and many are not playing it

How about other underdeveloping countries depending on oil? Nigeria is no the only developing country depending on oil for survival. Why was Nigeria the only one to experience recession? If I cannot compare Nigeria to the US, then you cannot compare Nigeria to Ghana. A country without oil but 1 Cedi is almost 80 naira. Electricity is almost constant and the crime rate is very low.

Nigeria went into recession but Benin republic whose economy depended on our economy did not. Hahahaha what a dry joke! If Businesses closed up, it surely would have seriously affected their economy because they survive with the taxes that those closed companies pay for importation.

IMF is very resourceful bro. As a matter of fact, there is no reliable website or research library in the whole of Nigeria. When Abacha died, it was a foreign news agency that informed the local news agency. I do not believe anything from Nigerian government because they are all lies and full of questionable clauses.

Before you discount IMF report, provide a website that belongs to Nigeria where we can go to research and source for updated and useful information. E no day. So, where do you get your own information? Hearsay and bloggers.
deenee:

You need decongest your mind from this whole we must blame our president for the situation of things in the country.

Secondly don't compare america and nigeria.it is like mixing apples and oranges. US is a developed nation Naija is an emerging one so Marco economoc features will differ whether in a recession or boom period.

Thirdly Naija is import dependent and most companies prefer to import repack and sell. Yes alot of businesses closed down esp those that depend on dollar for importation.

However those that source local are doing well. Even big coys like .NB Nestle etc are sourcing locally. Never believe the IMF mumbo jumbo charade. As usual all thier forecasts are never accurate and it's clear that they are pursuing an imperialist agenda.

That is what music should be all about. Social awareness not always about love and yarsh. Great musicians are remembered for their social activism. Fela, Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, Lucky Dube, John Lennon etc.

We are tired of this nonsense that we celebrate. Falz #bringnigerianmusicback.

Is it wrong for P’square to organize anambra festival like Tuface does in Benue? They rather tear themselves apart publicly. Disgraceful!
With all the celebrities that come from Anambra, there is no giving back to their hometown. Flavour go Enugu go build night club. As if that is what will make the youths grow. He learned how to play guitar and piano which led him to success. Instead of opening a bigger music school that will pave the way for many more like him. Where our sense go abeg? Is flavor not rich enough to build a music school and buy instruments for poor kids to learn music skills? P’square no fit do am?
They are all busy looking for already made to sign to make quick money but they cannot help anyone. Yemi Alade say work plenty but she has not posted any vacancy since she became a celebrity. Na when people beg her money she know say work plenty. Is she not rich enough to put people on payrolls?

Omotola, Ini Edo and Rita Dominic dem gather wear pyjamas abi na bathing suit take pictures together. For what? We do not know. Girls are mutilated and kidnapped. Is that not a cause for celebrities to fight for? Look at the story of Ese Oruru. Everybody has forgotten not knowing that it goes in a circle. They all came out throwing support for bb9ja housemates. But an orphaned teenager was raped and has no job. Who will bail the girl out financially? One has had a baby after being being raped and she had the baby already? Tonto Dike pledged to give someone 1 Million naira just because of a twitter post. The other one pledged to give two million naira to counter Tonto’s pledge. But look at this teenage mother whow is an orphan. There is God oh. One aboki came out seeking contribution for a one-legged mallam working under the sun. Genevieve Nnaji are you blind to this teenage mother? Rita dominic would it be bad to support this teenage mother who were raped? Not that they had sex out of consent. They have to deal with the trauma all their lives. Where is E-money? Not to spray money during weddings oh. Yemi alade will you give her a job? Davidoo this girl is not asking for Porsche o. Tiwa Savage is one of the most tight-fisted person I have ever known. She just does not care about anyone else. Phyno, you are now of age to reach out to the poor. We are not asking for millions. But since we have bought your CD’s and paid to watch you perform, we are part of your success. We also have a right to beg because when you all begged, we came to support you.

Accordign to IMF Nigeria’s economy is still exiting a painful recession as of March 2018, but policy implementation needs to move quickly and comprehensively to facilitate economic recovery and help the country reap its longer-term potential, says the IMF in its latest economic health check of sub-Saharan Africa’s largest economy.

Growth in Nigeria recovered to 0.8 percent in 2017 after a historic collapse in oil prices—exacerbated by falling oil production and inadequate policies—took a major toll on the economy (chart). The recent rise in oil prices is supporting the recovery, but more needs to be done to reduce unemployment and address poverty.

Please tell me how prices of assets will hit the rock in 2017 during the recession when about 50% of companies closed up and investors pulled out and still during the same recession bounce to the top while the entire country only recovered at 0.8% only. What economic theory is that? What economic lie can you tell me to prove 233% increase of a company depending on 0.8% national growth.
oga! take am small small abeg. I no that you are a pundit but we need to pound it together.

We blame Buhari becos he is our president. Obama came to power when the US economy was crashing. he bailed out companies and regained americans dominance in the world market.

Buhari is the president who said that he would fix it. many other countries thrived under the fall of oil price. we are not the only country depending on oil. why were we the only country to fall and collapse in recession?

let us give u the benefit of the doubt. the oil prices have gone up to $80 per barrel and are we still making such lame excuses? other economies have bounced back and moving on. Are we still blaming the fall of oil price?

during goodluck it went from 59 to 62 then briefly picked above 100 but not for long. only in June 2014. Oil price has been how it is today. and it is still peaking now that this government is in power. but since it peaked what has been the achievements?
deenee:

The best time to invest is when an economy is a in recession. This is the period when prices of assets are trading at rock bottom prices. A good example is stock prices in 2017 compared to now especially for companies with strong fundementals.

While we were all blaming buhari and APC for the recession which was largely driven by fall in oil prices linked to increased production of shale oil in the US and glut in the crude oil market, foreign investors with cheap dollars were busy buying assets at rock bottom prices and CSCS cleared alot of these transactions so their supendpous increase in top line revenue despite the recession is very much in place.

Please for the sake of supposedly non-expats like me, explain how the above services could have gained 233% increase in one year during the recession.

you were all conned.
Lesson in life: never believe an old man for being an old man. Do your research for yourself and take responsibility for your decisions.

He has denied that he ever promised anyone cash. Do not blame Buhari but blame Goodluck for choosing to run for a 2nd tenure when he promised to run for one only. He could have handed power over to a more formidable and competent candidate. I hold two people responsible for all the Buhari nonsense. First na GEJ. sencond na Tinubu rotten teeth

GEJ phork up big time and I no go forgive am at all.

They said that Dasuki opened a gate for embezzlers to loot cash. The government has confirmed that they have retrieved cash from embezzlers. How much did they retrieve so far? The public does not know. Is that transparency? After retrieving all those cash Dasuki is still detained without any legal proceedings. Where is due process? See the speed way dem take arraign Dino melaye and charge am to court. Very speedy. Did it happen in Nigeria?

Tell me the northern governor that has been convicted for crimes. Since Mr. war against indiscipline came to power, tell me the politicians that have been sentenced to jail for any crime. And you are telling me that Buhari is working? You think he is doing anything different from the rest?
Al Mustapha killed Kudirat abiola. A man who was sentenced to death for his shocking crime was released by Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. Environmentalist, Ken Saro Wiwa, a fellow southerner as Goodluck was murdered by the same Al Mustapha and his boss in 1995 For no just reason. All he was guilty of was campaigning for environmental cleansing and depollution of his community. Ken won international awards for his effort as an environmentalist but in Nigeria he was termed a criminal deserving of a very shameful death by hanging.

Goodluck house no get road na creek. The environment is full of toxic gas and chemical substances that cause cancer and many health effects and poverty to the local fish farmers. Goodluck released a serial killer who came out and started campaigning for the presidency. What a remorseless murderer. The once Abiola empire has been reduced to ashes with no one paying for it and not even an apology tendered. And Goodluck is parading himself as the father of democracy. Such a clueless and evil man. Look at the enormous hope people in the Niger Delta and other well-meaning Nigerians had. We all hoped that a man who walked to school without shoes will understand the pain of innocent children suffering in our country. Goodluck does not deserve a bit of respect or recognition. He dinned and wined with murderers and he joined them in their crimes. Such a bad example for husbands and men in entirety. Today, the south is soaked with oil spill while the revenue from the exploration is wired to the north.

Interesting lie
233% increase in a year. I do not understand. Nigeria was declared to be in recession in 2016 and 2017. And in these years a company gained 233% than the previous years that we were not in recession. That is unclear to me o. How come?? During this period we heard that our government was pumping millions of dollars into the economy and that would definitely choke our naira. So how come a company gained 233% during this period when their gain would have come from investors patronizing the naira? During a period when 50% of small-scale investors closed up their businesses. during a time when naira was crashing and sinking like titanic.

they said that their success came from their performance to better economic macro story, the Investors’ and Exporters’ FX Window, our sound corporate governance model, focus on implementing strategic initiatives, skilled workforce and technology,”.
This is strange to me. Are they adding up the cash that monkey and snake swallowed to make up the financial growth? nothing ceases to surprise me anymore.

even dangote and all our billionaires have been falling down the forbes ranking loosing billions of dollars. and these people are growing 233%.

Your narrative shows no respect to that girl at all. you just come here to sell her out. what stops you from taking her to the hospital? are you not man enough to know that checks and tests are done in the hospital?

Leta she pointed accusing fingers to almost every one sharing the apartment with us so we started praying hoping that God will interven.

All these drama and fictions in our politics need to be questioned by required authorities. There is INEC for a reason na. Sometimes we feel that these people and the court are fighting for our interests but they are not. These are not supposed to be our headache na. We are not politicians. All that we are asking is for people to do their jobs. Do your job while I do mine. These people have turned politicians into reality TV stars that we all look out for their updates like series. We just need to be allowed to breathe abeg.

April 2017 CNN reported that EFCC discovered $43m belonging to no one. Where is the money today? Everyone just kept mute as if it is not their business.

The US. The UK, Canada, China and many more top countries considered as civilized or first world countries use coal-fired power generating plants to provide electricity that manufacturers use to invent all the gadgets that our politicians use in Aso rock and to power the hospitals that our politicians go for treatment. The house and the hospital that Buhari lives or is admitted in London may be powered by a coal-fired plant.

In Nigeria we have a whole state called coal city, Enugu. Nigeria has large coal reserves, estimated at least 2 billion metric tons. There is a coal mining corporation in enugu state and there used to be coal mining activities going on there that provided electricity and jobs for thousands if not millions of people. The coal got our railway to full work. Today, the government has purposefully stopped all coal mining activities that the British used to provide constant electricity supply to Nigerians for no cogent reason. Just to make sure that the Igbos are jobless and poor, to create a means of embezzling public funds in the oil sector and destabilizing the future of the general populace.

We can get constant electricity from the gas that Nigeria exports.
In Bonny Island the light never goes off. In Escravos, the light never goes off. These places are in Nigeria map oh. When you live there you begin to wonder why in the name of being a Nigerian will there continue to be darkness in Nigeria when God said “let there be light”.
Fashola, the demon is giving us stupid reasons why we cannot have light as if we are dumbs. What is our business with lake chad and kainji river drying up? We have coal and we have gas. If the kainji cannot power Nigeria, what stops us from complementing the volts produced from the kainji river with coal from the east and natural gas?
Europeans are planning on building a $2 billion artificial island power hub. We are still complaining of kainji damn. What a minister for darkness.

The government are happy that face-me-i-face-you generators in our homes creates serious environmental pollution that will cause cancer and serious lung infections. Worse than coal itself can ever cause.

The air in Nigeria is polluted and cancerous. Please use this moment to protect yourself from generator exhausts. It is very dangerous. Be careful! It comes from your neigbours generator or yours.

That Tinubu way go put this man for power, na better brown rotten thunder go fire am. The thunder way brown pass him rotten teeth na go fire am for there. All these old men are heartless and wicked. They know what is right but they chose to make the lives of the residence miserable. They will all reap their reward one way or the other. Look at the way people are dying everyday all becos of these greedy old men who are supposed to be preparing for their funeral. Greedy thieves who deserve no single respect from the average man.

The level of crime and Fetishism in our society have reached an alarming rate. From rape cases to kidnap, confraternity tussles, terrorism and cult massacre. Sadly, the average Nigerian flips through news topics of this stratosphere like they are normal. What we fail to realize is that the reader of a sad news yesterday is a victim that will be reported on the news tomorrow. What you fail to stop will stop you.

People should be ahead of the game. Can someone at least create a blog for naija crime watch where we can anonymously post pictures and give information of any suspicious character? at least to create awareness. abeg my brothers make una share publicly any unscrupulous or suspicious character so that we can at least raise awareness oh. This is getting too much oh. People are getting very mean by the day. We cannot take chances. Parents need to be ahead of the game oh. Most revealing stories do not make the front page.

We have an IG of police who centers his duty on running errands for a deaf president and being used as a political carriage by our democratic monarchs. An IG who goes to commission transmissions when there are more pressing issues demanding his attention. After all these brutal killings and evil acts, no one comes out to address the public. It is as if they do not owe us an explanation for being the guardians of law and order in the society. Aren't they supposed to come out and explain why all these crimes are allowed to go on?

Open the page below and see how dirty a police beat is on wikipedia. This is what the entire world sees.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigeria_Police_Force
Nigerian policemen smell like local gin, bad body odour, dirty uniforms, worn out badges and boots, etc. If you see the police vehicles, nothing close to orderly for people keeping law and order.
Police stations are very dingy, stinking and unworthy to be called a station.

Jungle justice as bad as it seems is the only fit justice for the poor in a country like Nigeria. Everyone is seeking to make fast cash at the expense of innocent lives. Girls, be very careful of men you go out with. Tell your family members who is dating you and where he takes you to. keep your families informed of your every move.

Mothers, I appeal to you to watch your children. That child is too precious to be boiling in the pot of ritualists. The country is a jungle, one fall, the others keep moving like it means nothing.

Since we refused to give him publicity, the Americans have. You guys may have asked him for cash to promote his song but help came from bigger celebrities with the wider audience. That is how God works. Now, our bloggers will want to make money from his achievement. This is why I encourage celebrities to connect more with their fans than the media or media personalities. All those celebrities insulting fans should be ignored. When no one attends their shows and buys their music, they will learn to give back to the fans and speak out on issues troubling the masses.

if the audience can all walk out when a mad celebrity walks on stage, that humiliation will cause sponsors to pull out their deals and promoters will disassociate themselves from that artist. The public has the ultimate power in entertainment. That Yemi Alade should be forced to apologize for that insult.

We are not beggars. For one who has millions of followers to neglect the millions who support her because a handful of individuals begged for assistance, it shows her level of pride and arrogance.

This is what we all work hard for. But the hardworking Nigerians do not get the same love and appreciation from a country they call their fatherland. Put yourself in the situation of the Nigerians who won the under 17 world cup, our women who are consecutive winners in the whole of Africa

Blessing Okagbare has been running for Nigeria for years and even broke Nigerian and African record for the fastest time. Did glo or MTN maker her an ambassador? They prefer to use Rita dominic or RMD. RMD does not reflect the age of the average consumer and he is not actively relevant. He has had his days but becos of political connection, they just give him the contract.

If you see the conditions of our Paralympians you will shed tears for them. One was given 2 million naira. divide 2 million by 12 months in a year that is 160k per month. na person go take pay rent, pay coach, feed, buy sport wear and miscellaneous then wait for the next four years for another gold and another 2 million naira. and if not gold no show oh.

Kanu Nwankwo played everything he did for Nigeria and brought glory to this country. na their team be say Nigerians go go abroad them go hear our name. before this 419 scam the only thing people knew about Nigeria na football. That was how Nigerians were identified.
kanu nwankwo saved the lives of many poor children through his kanu heart foundation. I know of a woman in my area whose son could have died if not Kanu heart foundation that arrange funds and made travel arrangement for that boy to have open heart surgery in India.
Today, the small hotel that kanu built as pension for all his hard work has confiscated by the government that does not care about children with heart diseases.

Tell me. my brother who go see all this thing look face throway. until you have a heart problem or have a relative who needs Kanu foundation, then you will know how our government has destroyed us. these people are pure evil. If Atiku can manage his school and businesses without issues, OBJ can manage Ota farm without Issues, MTN and Glo can be managed without issues, what happened to Nitel, NEPA and Warri refinery under their watch.

Northerners will prefer to sell our crude to US and buy the refined oil from US at an added cost and then spend cash to ship it down to us again just becos they do not want Good for the Niger deltans. mere evil.

They have refused to dredge river Niger just becos they do not want the Igbo man to prosper.

Anambra should have had an international airport and shipping port. seeing that most goods coming from china and Japan end up in Aba and Onitsha. Just becos the northern is not close to the sea, they prefer that we all starve and suffer.

The cocoa business in the west, they have killed it so that we will all starve.

Can you believe that Spain exports haute couture but they import their rubber from Nigeria? we buy Italian and Spanish shoes at thousands of dollars but they get their leather from Nigeria.

Aroms Aigbehi just said that he is heading to Liberia to invest his money and we act like we do not care. We do not care because we neglect how much we spend on bags of rice and how much we

During the xmas and Christian festivals, have you ever wondered why there is always rise in commodities? why is there always lack of petrol? Let us blame it on the traders, but how about the hoarding of petrol? Does Nigeria experience a higher number of tourist during this time? no, we do not!

Why then are Christians tormented with scarcity? During the Islamic holidays, everything goes down in price. they have never run out of cattle.

What really does it mean to be Nigerian?

Guy the thing day pain me well well when I see great potentials wasting away. There are Nigerians who used to be thieves back home that have traveled out to be recommended professional doing decent jobs with all diligence. Sadly, Nigeria wants to reap where they do not sow. Our mind is full of myopic ideas and the thing day pain me. I am doing my best trying to open some people eyes.

This is how we will deliberate on this loved-up trash while our future is being robbed of us. These people have personal photographers who shoot photoshop pictures for them all for Instagram and online posting. These are not real photos. They are playing with our minds to make money. They are absolutely irrelevant to the Nigerian economy. Loved up or hooked up, who cares?

People are just heartless and using baits to lure others for selfish gains. Wise up Nigerians. You could have learned a skill with your time. You could have achieved something that would move you ahead of your current phase.

All these celebrities are useless to us. Take the time to make cash. If you make money you can ask Cee-c to kneel down and twerk for you all night and she will. I saw a whole Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj dancing for a 10 yrs old Arab. I was shocked.
make money Cee-c and whatever are poor people seeking attention.

well, I hold lectures for kids once every week. If you are interested, ask your father to register you in my class. But seriously, I speak to people of all races and they applaud in the end. I am trying hard to keep up with your level believe me. I am trying very hard
