Does Fiyako Tomori play right back?
He played last season at Hull as a RB and also at Brighton too. But l was not overly impressed infact I thought he was just about average.

However, this season he is arguably the best CB in the Championship. He will have clubs queuing up for him in the EPL next season.

I have NEVER EVER seen a forward thinking and progressive football team that is not continously looking to improve by inviting players who are consistently continously putting in top class performances in thier league and club. Particularly if they are in a top club and league.

Rohr
Currently if we can get him first choice right now is FIKAYO TOMORI.

It is normal for a team that is down to increase their push for a goal while the leading team goes more conservative to maintain their score line. U don't expect the Egyptians to bow out without a fight.
One response in my philosophy.

The best defence is in attack, you can ask Guardiola about that and see it personified in Manchester city.

Which forward thinking team sits on a one goal lead ❓

We have had a lot of possession early on but we did not Kill off the match.

We may yet regret this complacent approach.

I am not OVERLY impressed we are improving but a lot if work to be done.

We are now letting the Egyptians back into the game because we never KILLED IT OFF when we had all the possession without penetration.

Another issue lots of possession but no end product in terms of creating goal scoring chances. Limited penetration we are playing like we are leading 5-0

If we get complacent we may cry later on.

We are not going for goal, THIS IS A PROBLEM.

Agreed that's not in dispute, however if we talk about high level that's another question. However, that's not the main consideration.

Libya' s U23 team how many of thier players are playing hight quality first team competitive footballhuh ❓ Then beating them should be a formality not a matter of contention.

Then put matters in perspective should U23 youth football performance be the basis of selection for the SE.huh huh huh

Or rather top flight football consistent top performances in your league and club.huh

If he performs excellently like he did today what's your problem with him?
All matters in CONTEXT.

In Porto B he has been anonymous and under achiever, he has been hyped but has never delivered.

Is the Libya U23 team better than any of the top level teams in the Portuguese first division league. If the answer is No, then when faced with low level youth opposition he becomes a Lion. Anything above that and he has nothing to show.

It is your club performance continous and consistent thay justifies your call up for the national team. Not playing youth games against mediocre national teams.

If you look at England's U21 team you have players who have played 4/3 seasons of competitive senior football. Some even in the EPL. That's the kind of standard we should be striving for.

Arsenal are ready to dip into the lower leagues for a new addition.

The Mirror says the Gunners have entered the hunt for Charlton starlet Joe Aribo.

The Gunners have had Addicks academy product Aribo, 22, watched a number of times this season.

And they have seen enough to add him to the list of players on their radar for this summer.

Composed, tall, left-footed midfielder Aribo has been Charlton's standout player this term, helping him catch Arsenal's eye.

He has made 28 appearances and chipped in with six goals for the League One promotion chasers.

Aribo is out of contract at the end of the season which will only increase his appeal as he will be available to the Gunners for a small compensation fee because of his age.

I remember talking about him ages ago.

And as usual I got dogs abuse from so many. It further strengthens much view. That it is better to be a Killer Lion in a lower league than an anonymous mouse in a bigger club and league.

Stand out players in the lower league will eventually get recognition. Expensive flops will eventually get demoted to the lower levels of football eventually too.

I rest my case, now watch the NFF start to give him recognition that should have happened before not after.

Sadiq Slams Gerrard Over Poor Treatment During Loan Spell With Rangers

Adeboye Amosu

Complete Sports

Umar Sadiq has sensationally claimed Rangers still owe him money from his time on loan at the club.

The Ibrox loan flop had his season long loan spell cut short in December and isn’t impressed by how he was treated by the club.

And Sadiq has also revealed he was fined £20,000 by the club over a social media post during his time in Glasgow.

The Nigerian is currently out on loan at Perugia in Serie B after returning to parent club Roma.

It was a nightmare six months for him in Glasgow as he joined the club but played just five times and making one start.

That came in the 1-0 defeat to Aberdeen in the Betfred Cup semi-final and Steven Gerrard had earlier criticised the big forward for his performances in training and insisted he wasn’t capable of starting for the club.

He was forced to play him with Kyle Lafferty cup-tied and Alfredo Morelos suspended and was slammed by fans after the game.

But Sadiq insists Rangers withheld money due to him in December despite his loan spell ending early in the month.

“All of a sudden, I was told that I could not use the first-team dressing room any more. Instead, I had to go change with the kids. Then after a few days I was also forbidden to park my car inside the training centre,”he told the Sunday Post.

“I felt humiliated and kept asking what was the reason for the change of attitude but I never received any answers.

“Gerrard wouldn’t give any explanation about it, neither to me nor my representatives. I believe absolutely that I was not given a fair chance to show what I can do. They made me feel like a stranger. I started only once and that was when there were no other strikers available.

“For me everything went wrong after they brought in another striker. Once I put a ‘like’ on Instagram to a post from a fan and I was fined £20,000 which was absurd. And Rangers didn’t even pay me up everything I was due. They still have to give me my salary for December.”

But while the 22-year-old isn’t overly happy with Gerrard, and admitted he doesn’t care how the club do on the pitch, he revealed there is one player he will keep an eye out for in the future.

He added: “I honestly don’t care how they do. As long as I was a Rangers player, I behaved like a professional, giving everything I could of myself to the shirt but now I don’t want to hear about them and what they are doing anymore.

“In my opinion, they behaved in a disrespectful way to me, both as a player and as a person. When it ended, Steven Gerrard didn’t even have the courage to talk to me and tell me what was happening face-to-face.

“One man I do wish all the cluck and success to in the future is Alfredo Morelos. He was my fellow striker, and I felt good with him during the time I was in Scotland. I would say that he is a very good player and an exceptional guy. He will be one of the few that I will follow with affection.”
I noticed no mention of Oviemuno Ejaria by Sadiq or the youth player that replaced him in a U23 match and promptly scored a hat trick.

Ghana vs Gabon
Do you know where they are being live streamed if at all and or what TV stations might be showing the games.

Meanwhile l am watching England U21 give Poland a football lesson.

I am talking about this in the context of the Nigerian U23 selection. In this England team that has 18 year old players who have two seasons of first team football under thier belts.

There is a tendency in our U23 selection to use players from Europe who are essentially academy players, and rely on past youthful glories, Nwakali is a classic example. In my opinion that's not good enough we need better.

In this England team we have two undiluted NAIJA boys in Ademola Lookman and Fikayo Tomori these guys have been playing competitively for 4 seasons plus.

Tomori is arguably the best young CB in the Championship, he is that good. We all know Ademola Lookman who Everton rejected a near £30 million offer from Liepzig for last season.

Sometimes players have an attribute that propels them beyond established players.

With Julius it was speed otherwise in reality he didn't have too much competition at the time.

Ighalo, Musa and even if fit Obagoal are not potential but long term proven and established top level performers.

on your last paragraph i agree that osimhen and chukwueze have to continue to improve and gain consistency. talking about the seasons they have had so far i think both young men can be very satisfied. even if their respective leagues should end today they would have performed far more creditibly than there peers eg. dominic solanke ; D. musa, mikel got call ups to the national team as unproven talents so that approach of calling potential star performers is not exactly novel.

with the super eagles yes only the absolute best consistent players should be invited but in instances where you have rare special players the selection criteria has to be relaxed in their favour.
I personally don't rate Solanke as anything special because in my opinion he is rated on potential albeit great outstanding potential. He is yet make his mark.

That not withstanding it doesn't mean I think your protégé is any better.

Now on the debate of who is more creditable as a striker. It's a matter of opinion.
