Earthquake3:It seems that my opinion is shared by ESPN sports and w few others. In actual fact it is not am opinion but proven substantiated facts through statistical comparison. In light of the statistical information who is therefore being EMOTIVELY BIASED and SENTIMENT and RATIONAL DRIVEN ❓ ❓ https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-van-dijk-bamba-cardiff-15409190 https://www.givemesport.com/1416780-liverpool-fan-tweets-after-espn-use-sol-bambas-stats-to-question-virgil-van-dijks-75m-fee |
Humility017:I really do.not get carried away with U17 football because at best is indicative of potential not much more else. Without thay potential being developed it can actually very sadly amount to ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. If U17 football was a major milestone in football progression and superior quality. Then we should be winning the World cup by now. But we are far from dominating African football. How many of our U17 football players have progressed to top class football commensurate with the high levels they achieved at world youth level. ❓ |
Earthquake3:Sol Bamba is one the best Defender in the EPL, his Manager rated him higher than Van Dyke. Again Neil is clearly biased but not stupid. When making claims albeit tongue and cheek be sure to be objective. None of our current defenders are better than Sol Bamba in my opinion he is among the top three defenders in the EPL. All the players you mentioned would walk straight into the SE without hesitation. Michael Antonio is like a one man riot squad on his day unplayable. Ashley Young is a very cool and level headed defender now. Because he looks so young you forger he will be 34 thus year and still first choice at Manchester United. Pedro played 128 games for Sampdoria that includes 4 seasons in Seria A, that's not easy. |
godspeed:On a tight budget and take advantage of various synergies from living with the locals. My suggestion AirBnB you can get a good quality room in a shared apartment in decent area for about £10 a night or even less. With such a long stay you can probably negotiate a good discount. |
tbaba1234:That's about the best way to put it. That's the reality of Nigeria At least we no longer have men of 23+ parading themselves as U17. |
wayodude:So you were pick pocketed in London. Well that's not too bad for a big city like London. I guess you cannot be complacent you must " shine your eye" If its any comfort, my older brother was mugged at gun point in London at a cash machine. He initially, "as a made in Warri Guy" first head but the first guy, colobee the second before they now put gun for him head. So he had to form ice water. They then took his card got his pin and put it into a hand held card reader bypassed security and emptied both current and savings account of tens of thousands ££. So consider yourself lucky. Finally the fans in Egypt are known for unrestricted crazy football violence. |
wayodude:I haven't been to Egypt for a long time, my Father took me there as a child. However, I am prejudiced. I see and read about thier political system where the rule of law is taking a battering. The creating of a DICTATORSHIP and president for Life. The coptic Christians and the continous discrimination that face as well as blatant attacks by various groups. When you go to Egypt and you stay in a 4/5 star hotel. Not all of us can always afford that me included. You get a completely false view of Egypt, you are on the well insulated and protected tourist route. Where you are shown a very serene and compliant Egypt. That is the Egypt my Caucasian work colleagues and associates love to visit. Coming back with all kinds of wonderful stories. It's not for me. And l know l will not have the same welcome. My hope was for a Moroccan AFCON that didn't happen so l will not be going. |
andrew444:Why don't you present your position with substance❓ Not just aimless words. Who is Onyekuru better than ![]() |
iSlayer2:Agreed. But then we are not all under obligation to follow the hype and should not be called HATERS when we disagree or do not join the bandwagon. |
Earthquake3:I would DISAGREE with you. He Onyekuru has played in the lower level leagues of Europe and against faster, stronger and more technically astute defenders week in week out will not find it so easy. So he is not tested at a higher level to make such a conclusion. Better than Pedro certainly not IMO. |
andrew444:Onyekuru has played in Belguim and Turkey and has done EXCEPTIONALLY WELL. However, can he transfer that ability and dominance to the EPL, is open to question. He is very lightweight in my opinion. He reminds me of Nani excellent player but when he came to United was a bit lightweight too . In the end he was sent to the gym to beef up. His career was OK at United but for a player tipped to replace Ronaldo, he didn't live up to expectation. However, Onyekuru has a very big advantage there is no expectation on him. So he will not be under great pressure to perform. But the question can he perform. In all these clubs he has a chance, however, it's one thing to get in its another to perform and claim first choice position. However, I don't think he will fit into Newcastle, Cardiff, Burnley and Bournemouth. The other teams he may have an opportunity. But him being clearly better than the existing players is open to never ending debate IMO. I remember Atsu had a wonderful world cup for Ghana but couldn't do anything at Everton and has just been OK if l am to be generous at Newcastle. In conclusion it's not as simplistic as you make it, the EPL is a different type of intense physical football and some teams have a different ethos that may not fit his particular attributes. My advice to him is he should go to the Bundesliga and progress from there. |
andrew444:Which clubs❓ |
do4luv14: Agreed without one iota of reservation The ball that just barely touched the hairs on his hand if at all did not change the direction of or trajectory of the ball in any way whatsoever. It was the ball that hit his thigh that had the crucial touch that changed the trajectory of the ball and therefore created the goal. I am quite SHOCKED at the comments made about this they border on DELUSION. |
OMANBALA1:I am not sure why you seem to be getting so heated, over a subtle observation. Nonetheless, you have essentially with much detail confirmed my view, opinion and or observation. Let me reiterate, I find that people in Agbor are just like many other parts of Nigeria overwhelmingly have given thier children European derived names. Which l think is very sad as a Nigerian. I gave you the example of Nduka Obiagbiona and asked if his name is Igbo derived. You have answered that question albeit indirectly but still comprehensively. So what is the core issue ❓ l seems we are delving into the politics of ethnicity, let me presume, that does being Igbo derived in origin or heritage make you Igbo ❓ ❓ Quite emphatically the paramount traditional ruler of Agbor has made it VERY RESOUNDINGLY CLEAR that they are not Igbo. Although they without doubt are historically by origin derived from the Igbo ethnicity. His answer is a capital NO. But in today's contemporary Nigeria and ethnic dynamics they do not consider themselves to be Igbo. That would be the same position for the Uhrobo/Isoko, Kwale and other somewhat Igbo derived and mixed ethnic groups in Delta state. Don't presume that l am ignorant that's being condescending. I actually speak Igbo (central) l spent near 5 years at UNN where my Dad lectured for a period. And mixed with a lot of people who speak so many differing dialects it's impossible to number them. I may have been born in the UK but l can assure you l was made in Warri. |
Icon79:What is the something else, l am lost explain more. But before you do the superiority of the EPL is becoming more and more apparent. Look at how many EPL teams got to the last 8 of the Champions league. And the possibility of an all EPL final is now a possibility. Then look at the Euro cup it seems highly likely that we will have an all EPL final. Now what could be more emphatically resounding to prove the complete SUPERIORITY of the EPL. |
Icon79:I very much doubt so, can not see Ajax beating Tottenham. Barcelona may beat Liverpool but it will not be easy. |
OMANBALA1:I am jumping in blind nit getting the full substance if what is in contention. Nonetheless, l know a certain Nduka Obiagbiona from Agbor in Delta state. Would you then classify his surname as IGBO derived. I will add that the language of Ika people's would not be described as IGBO. It may have some derivation but presently it's very far from the pure Igbo language. |
tbaba1234:Agreed without reservation or question. If the NFF had not been riddled with corruption and sharp practices. Without doubt Ademola Lookman would be playing for us now. After going through U17 selection for the Eaglets in London he was then dropped, Why ❓ Is it surprising that he is very skeptical about our approaches to him. |
BascoVanVeli:To substantiate your position see below. West Ham sack Tony Henry after he sparked a race row by saying the club do not want to sign any African players because they 'cause mayhem' https://www-dailymail-co-uk.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5345809/amp/West-Ham-sack-Tony-Henry-sparked-race-row.html?usqp=mq331AQCCAE%3D&_js_v=0.1#referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailymail.co.uk%2Fsport%2Ffootball%2Farticle-5345809%2FWest-Ham-sack-Tony-Henry-sparked-race-row.html Now these ate the few that have been made public with clear evidence to support the allegation. I could tell you a hundred more individuals and clubs that ate even worse. If you can have this happening in West Ham in London one of the most racially diverse parts of the UK. In addition BME make up at 41% of the population of London. Then with this level of diversity how many heads of academies in London are Black how many ate even coaches and how many are managers. The figures are ABYSMAL. When you come to the North of England that figure becomes 10 times worse. All these these individuals and clubs perpetrate blatant racism day in day out. With the exception of Liverpool in the North there is no club l cam vouch for that doesn't have issues with race. And Liverpool is not necessarily perfect just a lot better than the rest. Now that's what our children of black African origin have to face regularly. So please let know one tell me that they Nigerian origin players have LIMITLESS OPPORTUNITIES. It is simply not. TRUE. I can tell you of a club in the NW also in the EPL where the Manager has made the same statement but not in the public media. I know one of the players who left to Watford after seeing he was not that welcome and the prevalent attitude. Buy he will never make that position public. |
Danielnino00:When you move as a player the permutations surrounding your move will determine your progress to a very large extent. Are you going as a proven tested and outstanding performing established player, who is in demand. Or are you going as youth potential who had done nothing achieved nothing and have nothing to underpin your assumed quality. That would describe Nwakali to a tee. The next thing you have to look at is who is ahead of you are they established, are the the Manager's favourite, have they proven thier quality and are you CLEARLY UNQUESTIONABLY BETTER than them ❓ That's the question. The other issue is there a super agent in cohorts with the Manager that is giving certain players more opportunity to market them and make money. This probably reflects Awaziem add to that long term contract with transfer fee. That's the Portuguese business model |
TheGoodJoe:I have first hand experience. 4 years ago l took a British born Nigerian origin player to Portugal specifically Sporting Braga, Sporting Director then was Augostino. Contract terms were agreed but they wanted to bring in thier own agent create a TPI. Then l looked at the ridiculous buy out causes, the pittance they pay U18 players. And a general attitude towards African players who are looked upon as desperate and willing to do and take anything. During that period Sporting Lisbon got involved as well as Guimarense. All sorts of arrangements discussed. For them there was huge amounts of money to be made from a young teenage English striker who could easily be sold back to the EPL if packaged right and given a run of games in the first team. It felt like l was in Nigeria they have no integrity l thought England was bad. But this was another level of bribery and corruption and sharp practices. The agents there are HIGHLY DUBIOUS. One good thing it's the kind of place a typical Nigerian hustler will feel VERY WELCOME, you can bend rules make under table arrangements, etc. I have since then decided never to have anything to do with Portuguese football. I may go and watch matches but never have any associate undertakings. |
edi287:He's not just young he is a kid essentially. What do you expect a child to do keep quite and act matured. The deductions some have made about this kid on the matter, beggars belief. |
Humility017:After playing in Isreal hmmmm |
Humility017:Agreed, can not argue with that too much. |
junnyjake:I am not sure what you understand by the term " wires crossed " which is a very civil and polite way of saying you've made slight mistake. It seems this very common expression is totally lost on you and a few other who liked your comments. I am not an English teacher and don't have the qualification to be one. But your response says a lot about you as person. See the bitter jaundiced vitriolic response you have given. I presume a certain degree of basic education and understanding here, but it seems where you are concerned I was very wrong. Below taken from the Cambridge online dictionary. When people get their wires crossed, they have a different understanding of the same situation: Somehow we got our wires crossed because I'd written the 23rd in my diary and Jen had the 16th. Misunderstanding. cross purposes. don't get me wrong idiom https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/get-your-wires-crossed I know pride will not allow you to apologise for degrading the discourse with your gutter language and caustic abuse. |
Bolowolowo:No worries easily done, l just got a bit confused myself too. Never heard of any Ajayi in the EPL |
chrisooblog:I have already gone into some depth about this. I showed with references that Wolves was the subject of English FA investigation for breach of rules. With Super agent Mendes who has been controlling the club by proxy. And with his Manager Nuno. It is well recorded that Wolves has more Portuguese league orgin players than Porto and Benfica. Dominic was excluded from first team training after playing near 100 games for the club as soon as the Nuno arrived. These are all established facts not presumptions. You may query my facts based deduction but the facts are clearly indicative of the problem. I am not his agent. |
Humility017:This is a very difficult question it's not so simplistic. The first thing is to be true to yourself and know what your attributes are. However, attributes can change and be created with training and development. The Belguim league is not a top league if we are to be honest. As a consequence it will be considerably easier to get opportunities for a younger player. Or one with limited ability. The EPL is the most competitive the Spanish league the most technical. I really could not say which is best for players from Nigeria without residence status in Europe. But as you already know it's VERY DIFFICULT for young players to break into the EPL irrespective of nationality and colour. Quite a few who have had no opportunity in the EPL have gone to the Bundesliga and ripped it. Because it's difficult doesn't mean that Nigerians born players are being excluded and or discriminated against. However, if they did they will have to be EXCEPTIONAL. |
Joebie:Once rumour start it's very difficult to get rid of unfounded and or true. People love to believe fake news. In reality what specifically has he purported to have said that's specifically SO BAD. Tega can not even come out and say exactly what transpired between him, his Dad and Amaju. What we have is Amaju perception and version of what transpired. However, what did Tega perceive and understand from that meeting. Add into the mix the other permutations of England putting immense pressure on him to play for the 3 Lions. Also his long term contract not concluded with Chelsea. In effect we may have two completely different versions of what was perceived. Tega will not and can not bring that discussion into the public domain. That will cause undue contention and bring him into dispute with Amaju, not a wise move he us the NFF president. I remember when Odemwegie was messed up by West Bromwich on transfer night. The media story and what happened are TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS. But Odemwegie just kept quiet under the circumstances. |
BascoVanVeli:Actually the U17 is indicative of potential and possible future ability, that's all. The number of boys who play at U17 level and in a few years they are no longer playing is considerably high. If you count those who after playing at National level and in top EPL clubs but within a few years are not even playing in league two but non league it us quite high. That trend is still very high with our U17 players it's a not unique to Nigeria but maybe we higher fail rate consider the very high heights we attain at U17 level. Particularly as our progression at that level is never transferred to senior team. |
Bolowolowo:Never heard of this before. Have you got your wires crossed Semi Ajayi plays for the kick and rush masters of the English Championship. |
chrisooblog:When exactly did he become poor according to you❓ Please give your unit of measurement to conclude he was poor. The time sequence is the very important and intrinsic to any deduction on this subject. At the time he made his commitment in the summer of 2017 he was still playing for Wolves. And just played his last game for England U21. That's the pertinent time frame. I could add it was after he had just secured a long term contract with Wolves then Mendes and Nuno came in and everything changed literally over night. So at what stage did he become poor ❓ Although not particularly relevant but since his move to Sheffield Wednesday in the January transfer window. He had been a stand out player for Sheffield Wednesday. Scoring 3 goals in 11 games for a defender is quite impressive considering he had his first game in February. Is that your idea of poor. ❓He was EXCLUDED from Wolves by Nuno not even allowed to train with the first team. Although Wolves were top of the U23 with Dominic getting rave reviews for his performances. He got injured at Ipswich and played less than half a season under the kick and rush manager McCarthey. So when did he become poor ❓ Don't you think you may indeed be prejudiced and biased because your deduction is not based on any facts or figures. Just emotive negative bias. |
