On balance of play we simply didn't deserve to win. We even got lucky Ekong scored from that set piece.
The defence didn't trust the midfield, they kept lumping it up to Osimhen.
The fans themselves were over confident. Where all the confidence was coming from, I had no idea.
Dude you are wrong.

The midfield was the defence and the defence the midfield, then we go long , it was very predictable.

We could not get out because we had not outlet upfront, VO was defending our corners.

They won't blame Osimhen.

I said switch Osimhen to RW let Moffi strike.. maybe if it was Osimhen and Aina marking Adingra the situation would have been different.
When teams face a skilful fast forward player known to cause danger you always DOUBLE UP. Have you ever seen defenders allowing Mbappe, Ronaldo, Zaha etc to go 1v1 on your defense.

Aina had Adingra mostly covered in the first half even the first 25 minutes of the second half . But he was having too many 1v1 Chukwueze was not able to go forward and should have been backtracking. By the second half our boys were getting exhausted and completely gassed out, too much work.

Our midfielders were outnumbered and out skilled in the most negative defensive posture you can find. We could not win any second balls.

If Iwobi was placed much closer to VO and in a more forward position it may have been different. But he was playing DM and conceded the midfield.

I was surprised Onyeka was not sent off because he was working tirelessly and getting several fouls. Particularly because the referee was clearly biased. He stifled VO aggressive game with wrong calls against him and warned him.

From the get go any physical touch with the CIV players and they are rolling around like you hit them with a sledge hammer ⚒️.

This was made worse with our negative defensive posture literally inviting CIV to attack non stops 🛑

Fluke is not working. Will you call the win over South Africa getting tactics right? We were totally outplayed in our last two games. That is not getting tactics right. I have said it and will say it. Negative football is just fluke. That is why Mourinho keeps falling. With time, it gets clear that it is stale.
I have to painfully agree with you without question.

We have rarely dominated teams and we have been by sheer providence scraped through.

This negative approach was Never going to win us the final. VO left up on his own to work miracles, Iwobi sitting deep and trying to dictate play from behind.

I think Pasiero has to go he is too negative can your teach an old dog new tricks, No.

It seems our Ekong CB was the top goal 🥅 scorer in the team ,that tells a story in itself.

We conceded the midfield and every second ball was win by CIV . We invited them to attack and attack plus attack while we defended in the end we were all exhausted. In reality if not for Nwabali it would have been 3-0 in the first half.

SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by komekn(m): 10:42pm On Feb 11, 2024
Ademola off and Iwobi with KC and Yusuf

It's over in my opinion.

We should have sacrificed Iwobi bring on Moffi and have two strikers up front.

Then go 4-4-2

Wow
You are blaming Iwobi instead of Aina who missed a simple pass
If Iwobi was switched on he should get that ball but he is tired and asleep.

CIV are wining every second ball

We are not positioned to be offensive just defensive.

Ademola is being over worked and Iwobi is too far bsck to infkuence the game. We have no midfield because of the formation .

Iwobi is gassed out snd making poor decisions.

Prefer Modes Simon to start ,Chukyhad poor end product and decision making.

We all know Zaidu no end product and football ⚽ intelligence and little composure can give away fouls needlessly

You are dribbling yourself trying to create an answer that palatable to yourself.

So I will ask you is KC outstanding for club and league, ❓
