Nigerians need to forget that game because it was played at harsh 2pm by foreign based players
The truth can’t be refuted though, Iwobi is the best foreign based midfield creative player Nigeria has amongst these bunch

Nobody is blaming iwobi
But you forget how Nigerians vent out their frustrations

Iwobi is the only complete player in the team who can do everything at every position at the highest level
Attack
Midfield
Defend
Iwobi can do it all he’s a utility player

Don’t let Apoty fool you we know osimehn is the star
But iwobi is the heart ❤️ and creative force in the team

We know of his qualities that’s why fan’s always expect Jay Jay magic from him
Agreed without question ❓

Apart from Aribo I don't see any creative innovative technique led midfielders the rest are water 💦 carrier albeit hard working ones.

I watched the naija vs EG full match, and I don’t think we did badly. Also, I think the spate of substitutions in the team list leading to the AFCON may be a blessing in disguise. Alhassan, Onuachu, Moffi will all come good.

Observatiins from the EG game:
1. Osimhen will improve in his decision making as the tourney progresses

2. Zaidu is not fully fit. Peseiro should have played Bassey at LB. Bassey gives us better options going forward.

3. The Iwobi, Onyeka, Alhassan chemistry will improve and our forwards will continue to get good support from the rear.

4. Iheanacho was highly needed in that game. He is the kind of player that mends things if all fails.

5. Nwabili was solid in confidence level. Will his confidence level stay up there against CIV?
Timing your runs to avoid going offside you learn in your club and league not in the national team for a two week tournament.

Zaidu is all effort without end product and no football intelligence. I rather have Aina there and Osayi in RB with Bassey and Ekong as CB's

Alhassan runs and runs has no physicality and has very limited innovation and creativity to change games. It's a reflection of how poor the midfield is that he stood out against a supposedly low level Guinea. Onyeka is a water carrier just a lot stronger 💪🏿 and way more stamina than Alhassan. You need invention, creativity and unpredictability. The only innovation and goals in midfield will come from Aribo and Iwobi.

KC is highly not needed in the squad. He is not match fit, recovering from injury and struggling in the Championship many said he would dominate. ln reality he has been struggling to score more than 5 goals a season for the past three seasons. That's not a forward player in form.

I prefer Nwabili highly motivated to prove all the doubters wrong and claim the number one spot from a faltering Uzoho.

Ademola VO with who else neither Moses or Chukwueze have not been overly convincing , although Moses covers better defensively than Chukwueze.

It's got to be 4-3-3 in my opinion.

As it stands the squad depth is poor and this is a grueling physically draining tournament.

The CIV midfielders have goals and innovation plus work rate and physicality. I think we have better attacking options up front but not overwhelmingly.

A key issue no passengers on the CIV bench or players holding in to past glories. Our selection was abysmal but it is what it is.

It's going to be very tough 😔 on paper CIV are better and have home advantage highly motivated with a better manager IMO.

But it's football ⚽ anything can happen, my heart ❣️ is with Nigerian na luck 🤞🏿 we need to win. Hopefully CIV get man sent off in the first 10 minutes and we can win.

I don't think we will have it that tough against CIV... One thing that's sure about the super eagles is that regardless of our form, we dont lose disgracefully to opponents, no matter how strong the opponent is.. and to be honest, host nation or not, CIV haven't been that impressive in the past few years despite the many talent at their disposal..

The way JPes sets up his teams, we will struggle against teams that sit back and play on the counter, but play better against teams that come at us.

CIV will come out to attack us, that will give us plenty opportunities to create chances
We only hope and pray our guys finish their chances, because we will create loads of them

I see a draw or win for us against CIV
Underestimate CIV to your detriment this is a team that could drop Zaha, that tell you something.

Osimhen has poor technical ability. Easy way to tell, he hardly scores curlers. From that position he missed that pass, Mbappe or Iheanacho will curl the ball into the other side of the net
Please don't put KC and Mbappe in the same sentence.

How many goals has KC scored in the Championship after getting huge amounts of game time. As it stands the Championship is bossing him not him bossing the championship.

He is joint 38th in the Championship with 5 goals..

Kylian Mbappe has 19 goals in the French league and he next person to him has 9.

I agree that we don’t have a local coach whose CV is good enough to be the coach of the super eagles but Finidi won the league with Enyimba last season, tho it wasn’t the usual format
I disagree 😞

Finidi coached for several years at Real Betis probably has all his coaching badges and is more qualified.

Finally, not one question about his integrity. He is a gentleman, intelligent and is seeking for the best not his pockets.

Finidi is the best candidate by a mile.

my reason is that when the team is chasing a game ie like trying to equalize or win by breaking opposition’s defensive low block having him and iwobi in midfield will add more advantage to the team in terms of creativity

Aribo is more creative than Onyeka while the latter is more defensive minded with bigger engine to run up and down the pitch closing down opposition’s attack as well as bomb forward when required

Also aribo has eyes for goals and more dangerous when he ventures forward to the opposition’s box unlike Onyeka
Agreed without question

Bros go find out the Aribo of Rangers that joined SE two years ago is different from the current one. Ask around bro.

He even used to be a sure starter for Eagles. He literally broke into our first eleven and snatching the number 10 Jersey. This is not the same Aribo bro (Although he seems to be gaining his lost form gradually)
If a player is in very good form for his club and league but somehow he is under performing (not conclusive , debatable your opinion) in the national team.

That is not a problem with the player but management, team strategy and team cohesion.

If Mbappe, Ronaldo, Kane , Lewondoski, etc ate not scoring goals in the national team you will look👀 first at management , team strategy, style, form, etc then
then the player last.

If VO is not scoring goals none of you here will say he is not in form , well the vast majority here will blame everyone else but him. That's favouritism, but it's a emotive and sentimental based.

But you say Aribo is out of form , you will say Ademola is not good , etc

Bros you really fall hand on this KC matter o.

Kelechi is an important tool in the Super Eagles if you don't know... His creativity, shooting accuracy and finishing is an "essential commodity" for take it or leave it bro. (although he has his cold days too)

Abeg who be our current best forward after Victor as per performance? No be KC?

You even mentioned last season being impressive. Shey im no dey do well for SE? Was he not one of our best players at the last Afcon when the highly revered Awoniyi failed to turn up?

Who was the hero against the Egyptian team that was popularly expected to tear us apart? Was it not him?

You just focus only on club football waaa like that no be so na.

And he was also confirmed to be match fit against our second game so what's the fuss for?
Sadiq was confirmed fit but where did that get him.

When a player has been out for 5/6 games like KC and is getting treatment for muscle injuries he is not fit.

Normally such a player is introduced gradually not immediately, because the propensity for injury is very high. When you rush back into high intensity activity immediately. This is a high intensity tournament with little or no time to recover and or recuperate. You have to be fit no questions.

The KC attributes you have described and claimed , have never been consistently confirmed at club level. Last two seasons he scored 9 goals from 54 games over two seasons in the EPL, that's actually poor.

He is now in the Championship and he has scored 5 goals from 20 games, it's not the form that says clinical finisher top marksman, finisher and creative player. You ar holding on to fantasy. He is joint 34 in the Championship goal scorer table with 5 goals. He was going to boss the Championship many said here 😉 but the Championship is bossing and flogging him, no debate. Defenders have scored more goals than him. He is no longer essential to Leicester, he is not essential for Nigeria.

You cannot be an anonymous mouse 🐭 in the Championship and then go to the AFCON and be Lion 🦁.

I don't know why IGHALO was not invited he has more to offer than Sadiq, Onuachu even Moffi. If inconsequential Musa can be invite why not IGHALO.

Ighalo has scored the same number of goals or more than , Benzema, Mane, Mahrez, etc ❓ But nobody likes him here because not a word said here about him. KC is absolutely not better than him in the HERE and NOW.

In England Raheem was dropped because his form was not good enough 😔 it seems. They did not rely on past glories.

You need to take it easy on Nwakali bro. Dont you think you're being too harsh on him? I mean he's not even as bad as you people claim on here.

This is African football and not the world cup that requires world class players to make impact.

And moreover Nwakali, despite being in the weakest team of the Liga Portugal, has been proving himself to be among the best midfielders in that same league by appearing in team of the week and racking up impressive stats.

Reason am nah bros...
The Portuguese league is staggered to me , the top 4/5 clubs good quality. The next 10 clubs poor Quality and the bottom section very poor.

Would you say because a player is getting good stats in the NPFL he should be invited to the SE.

Peopl over hype him ,his club, and the bottom section of his league. If a player is any good he simply will not be going from one mediocre club to another.

When you think of his wages it tells you the story .

I compared a mid table team in the Portuguese league Boavista with Bolton in English League one. The average weekly wage on both clubs is almost the same.

What's shocking is Chavez is much smaller. The wages you will determine the quality of players you will get, it's very simple.

I have not seen anything 😞 outstanding 😔 in his play, he would not survive in league one and I am being generous.

You can help him do that sha. BTW, if he had added clips, you would have said they're not enough to judge both players. Na your way..
I have always said you cannot judge conclusively a player from match clips .

However, it can be indicative of attributes when taken in context.

That's why I post match video clips.

However, when a player is not outstanding or has nothing of substance,he will not generate any interest 😕 and so no video clips will be found😞

For instance a video clip of VO jumping tells us conclusively he has a huge leap, not surprising he scores a lot of headed Goals.

You dey whine cheesy you nor see Osimhen??
Firstly, We get God for post.

Bassey, Big/strong/agile for back.

Lord knows who for midfield?? But attack is the FIREPOWER.

To be very serious, Iheanacho is the key, I hope he can be fit. Then won-daran .

It has been revealed already.
It has come to this 😮, selection by sentiment and past glories not MERIT.

The basis for national team selection is consistent top quality performances in club and league, CURRENTLY.

KC has not made the bench for Leicester City because of injury he is recovering and may declare himself fully fit. But that's a big risk 😞

I said earlier Sadiq had no business being selected to play when there are other players better and also fit and consistent. Look 🙈 he has had to back injured after friendly game.

KC will not be match fit in the first place.

Secondly, what is the level of his form. It was declared here that KC ( clinical marksman) is going to destroy the Championship. 20 games later the opposite seems to be the case, Championship 🏆 is destroying him.

Last season he scored 5 goals and the season before that 4 goals in the EPL , for me that's not good enough to call him the Messiah that will save us.

The NFF need to stop 🛑 looking for personal deals and select the best players available.

I would look at Chuba Akpom ( 12 games and 6 goals) is not amazing but satisfactory , he also is adapt at playing as a SS. I would get into midfield Fisayo and the attacking options of Tella as well.

We need players in form not struggling for form or coming back from injury, this is a grueling, physically draining tournament your squad depth pivotal for success.

Players like Musa should not be there no passengers needed.

Optimism is good

But

Let's be realistic

What is the update on Kelechi Iheanacho?.

If he's not going to be fit enough for the tournament, why not just bring in Kelechi Nwakali to help add more quality to that midfield?

I think it's an area where we have always struggled to make good impact and an important area for that matter.

We can not afford to leave out a fit player for an unfit player. We need bodies as we speak.

Wetin Nwakali do ?

Even the attack is having issues now

Only Osimhen is fit... And we know injuries can occur

Other attackers nothing

Boniface out
Sadic nursing injury

Moffi yet to arrive camp
Iheanacho battling to be fit

Hmmm

And Nigeria won to win
Even the preparation is wow

When your team is s doing excellent you partake in the accolades if they drop you also partake in the condemnation.

Last season was the first time in VO career where he finished the highest goal scorer in the league. After three season in Seria A.

It's one thing to be the highest goal score another incredibly hard task to maintain it. Right now he is very far off the top goal scoring charts.

Senior man, have you looked at the quality of the Portuguese league, particularly when you put into segments.

The first 4 teams of the Portuguese league are good quality, that one segment. The next 5/6 teams are a very average. The next 10 teams are varying degrees of poor quality and MEDIOCRITY.

Players primarily wish to maximise income at every opportunity. Nobody, will go to a league because the football is good and get paid peanuts.

When you pay low wages you simply cannot attract any top quality players. And if you do, then very quickly other teams will offer money 💰 to buy them and poor clubs cannot afford to say No.

If any club offered Chavez £1 million for Nwakali they will rush it like hungry vultures and say TAKE please.

I compared the wage bill of Boavista with that of a English League one club, they were almost on par. That tells you an undeniable truth about quality of players.

Don't you ask 🤔 why has he remained in backwards backwaters of football ⚽ clubs all his career ❓

Eye tests and then every football website that analyse football and provide player stats has shown Ejuke to be involved defensively more than all of our wingers including Moses Simon. In the match against G.Bissau during the last AFCON tournament, i have never seen any of our wingers get involved defensively in the degree Ejuke got himself involved. Don't be ruled by just feelings, open your eyes. Study.
My principle is simplistic and it's generally followed by all progressive football ⚽ nations.

The basis for national team selection is outstanding consistent top quality performances in club and league.

I've also made a proposition that says better a Lion 🦁 in a lower level club and league than a anonymous mouse 🐭 in a top level club and league.

That not withstanding, the quality of league impacts on the quality of the players. Scoring 10 goals in Bundesliga is not the same as 10 goals in the EPL.

Ejuke has not shown outstanding quality in league and club 😕 to be above the players invited. You are overstating his performance in the SE.
