The dealer set out to rip the guy off. That car is no way near N25m. Dealer na thief. |
Btruth:Nonsense world view. Hogwash. It's like saying the lions, Elephants and Hyenas in the wild should stop hunting for food because there comes a day when they will die. My friend, go and hustle for money to better your life. Even if you die trying. |
Antoeni:Yes. He died chopping his money. 'Oringo' master. Nothing to regret here. It's not how long, but how well. |
lawani:I hope you know that what is taxable is your income. For a shop owner this means the profits he makes or reports at the end of the year. Not the capital he used to stock his shop. The tax assessment is even a problem in technologically advanced countries, not to mention a nation like Nigeria. Trump has boasted many times that he pays zero taxes. He is a billionaire. He has declared bankruptcy 5 to 6 times. Never paid a dime in taxes. FIRS has a huge task in their hands and lawyers are waiting on the wings to chop heavy on law suits. Conclusion: PROPER TAX COLLECTION CAN NOT WORK IN NIGERIA. How the hell would you tax the Mallam or Alhaji changing Dollar and Euros all over the country. What is their income? |
Hungry, 419 pastors. There are many of them around these days. |
Not opposed to taxes. But, the government has to very careful in their evaluation. There must be no double end triple taxation. I don't even see any need for new tax laws. All FIRS need do is to implement existing laws. That taxation issue is a ticking time-bomb en-route 2027. For SME's and market men and women. How will the FIRS determine their profits, hence their incomes? What about people's savings? Will savings be taxed separate from income taxes that has already been deducted before the savings. A lot of confusion. I see Kenya situation loading. |
Why Monaco?!. Why can't he go to Calabar, Enugu or Akwa ibom to rest? Why the obsession with Europe?. |
If Nigerians get sense, they better Peter Obi the president NOW. This has nothing to do with ethnic bigotry. I would also support any Hausa or Yoruba man that thinks and operates like Peter Obi. The life and comfort of the poor masses should come first. The current breed of politicians are just too greedy. |
I am not an economist, but can someone explain to me how Tinubu intends to achieve that $1 trillion economy in 4 years time by reducing the purchasing power of the consumers. Taxation takes away money from the pockets of consumers, hence less spending. The economy will not grow 1% if people are not able to buy goods and services. The lending rates from banks will choke many SMEs to death. I'm yet to understand the purpose of increasing taxes. Collecting money to build roads, airports and bridges will do nothing to the average Nigerian. What we want is cheaper foods and electricity. |
That is the way it ought to be. NIN = Tax Id. That's how developed and technologically advanced nations operate. NIN is the strongest government identity number for all Nigerians. They should find a way to generate NIN within the first month of a new born baby. There is also the BVN. Any additional number will be totally confusing and cumbersome for the banks to manage. |
This is idleness and pettiness on the part of the LSPC. Don't they have better things to do? Are they acting on the instructions of MC Oluomo? Anybody can call him or herself anything. I recall a certain Yoruba lady in London that calls herself "YEYE of London". London metropolitan police did not arrest her. She holds Yoruba traditional events in London. Yoruba's in Lagos should stop being paranoid and insecure. The so-called "Obi of Lagos" is just having fun. No Igbo man takes him seriously. |
Not going to happen. Besides GEJ will not make a good president. He'd easily influenced and manipulated. |
Makes no sense whatsoever. We already have NIN and BVN. That, can be used. In most of Europe their equivalent of NIN is what is used for everything from the day a child is born till he dies. It's fixed, it's permanent and very dependable. That is what the Tax agencies use. Saying that people can not operate already existing bank accounts without it is asking for a riot like what happened in Kenya. It should be restricted to opening a new bank account. Otherwise, it's bye bye to cashless society. |
So his term expires in November. That is normal. The question is who will Tinubu appoint to replace him?. Well, we know his name already. Dr, Oluwole, Rasheed Balogun. 2027 will be a very decisive year for Nigeria. Too much tension in the air. |
Never heard of an Hausa restaurant anywhere in Southern Nigeria. Truth be told, I only eat at Igbo, Calabar or Akwa Ibom restaurants. Never been to an Amala joint before. Op should not forget that Hausa people keep everything to themselves. They don't mingle. So, we know very little about their foods with the excerption of SUYA. |
AdolfHitlerxXx:Olodo!. This appointment is from the Tinubu administration through the IGP. Nothing to do with the UN. The nepotism is getting too brazen. I see premium tears for SW in the near future. Lagos will be okay, though, the Yoruba people go hear am when Tinubu eventually leaves. It's getting shameless. |
opes:Be careful what you ask for. If the opposition continue to be oppressed in this manner, I'm afraid the election of 2027 may not happen. I have this gut feeling that something dangerous is being cooked. The president has the obligation to secure and uphold our democracy. Suppressing legitimate opposition is not the right way. There are people way more powerful than the president in the country. |
N11.5 billion for 22 smart schools in the villages?! Mba's hands are not clean either. The intention must have been to use this guy to launder money. But he turned out to be a bigger thief. There are more than enough contractors in Enugu that could have handled the project. Why bring this guy in from Lagos?. Such simple job should have been given to local contractors to stimulate the local economy. |
Darren95:Just imagine how the changed "ONYENWEALI" by casting the "O" and "N" away. All in an attempt to jettison their core Igbo origins. There Igbo ancestors must have been really pissed off. Very funny ![]() |
You did not set and enforce boundaries from the onset. That's why she can brazenly take your phone and leave it on the bathroom floor. No woman in my life ever touches my phone openly. It can only be done secretly and in a sneaky manner. Na ' See Finish'. |
He got himself a good wife. Igbo girls will polish and uplift any man once money dey. |
YeyeGbami:The good old days. Wey you fit dey work 2 jobs in UK, one in Germany and 2 in Italy all at the same time. Guys wey no get papers dey pay royalties to us in those days. |
Thundafireseun:Na Igbo people na. ...makes sense. Is this where the popular "Igede" music of Enugu people came from?. |
dauntless15:So, what's your point. We, as human beings, the highest creature on Earth, should just sit down, do nothing and wait for death?!. Y'all should stop with this poverty consolation way of thinking. The man died at 91 years. He lived a full and enjoyable life. What he left behind is what he could not use up and as such useless to him at death. Even a rat has to hustle for both food and a partner while alive. If the rat dies, it's all over. Same is applicable to us. Physiologically and biologically, there is no difference between a dead rat and a dead king, queen or billionaire. So live your life to the fullest and stop worrying about what you will live behind. |
Having children in 2025 is overrated. Children of nowadays can be totally useless to their parents at old age. Just make sure you have enough money to take care of yourself at old age. Once I hit between 70 to 75 years, i will sell off all properties in the city. And try to spend most of the cash within 15 to 20 years if still alive. |
Gas finished! This can be very traumatizing. No matter the time of the day. |
He did not say anything new. He actually emphasized his earlier stand that Lagos is a No Man's Land. He spoke his mind and the mind of his fellow Northerners in his first speech. Unsuccessful damage control. |
Seunfretty:My friend, stop dreaming. Who decides if and when a tribe will go it's own way?. Nigerians. Yes, Nigerians. If it was so easy to go your own way, Igbos would have had Biafra by now. The original Biafran territory that Ojukwu and Igbos wanted. But, the rest of Nigeria said NO because of large oil deposits found in the Eastern region then. Same thing applies to Lagos today. The nation has invested so much in Lagos, since the 1800's that it cannot be given to any tribe in case of any regional autonomy. Same goes for Abuja. So, do not delude yourself. To make matters worse, Yoruba's are not capable of any "Violent shove". Lagos was formally a British protected territory. Now, it is a Federal protected territory. Accept this and have peace. |
Antoeni:Like i have told those Ondo and Ekiti miscreants here, Lagos is a FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY(ECONOMIC). It's the nation economic capital and will be totally removed from SW states in the near future. It's inevitable. A minister will be appointed for Lagos, just like Abuja in the near future. |
WHAT ARE NIGERIANS EVEN GOING THERE TO DO?. To me going to USA is a complete waste of time and money, unless you are going there for like 2 weeks to collect money, which is very unlikely. Going to USA for vacation is a waste of money. I personally do not have any such plan. Not needed at all. |
Peter Obi will keep to his word. I'm not sure for Amaechi. In fact, he will not. |
atobs4real:Has to do with strong brand name. Union bank has a very long history and more customer base. Yes, Titan bought Union bank. But they dare not change Union bank to Titan Trust bank. Same thing Elumelu did when he acquired UBA using Standard Trust Bank. |
