General Overseer and founder of Set Captive Free Ministry, Prophet Samuel Ndukwu has been arrested and charged to court for allegedly obtaining N8 million from his church member, Uche Nwoke under the false pretense of delivering him from family curses.

Ndukwu had prophesied to Nwoke that there was a family curse that was hindering the progress of his family members and there was need for the family to carry out deliverance to upturn the hindrance.

He reportedly assured him that after the spiritual deliverance, all the things the family members lost in the past because of the curses will be regained and directed him to bring the money for the deliverance work.

According to PM Express, Nwoke sold all he had and gave the money to Ndukwu who performed some purported spiritual deliverance.

Nwoke was said to have lost his two children after the prophet conducted the family cleansing.
He reported the matter to the police after he requested the refund of his money and Ndukwu threatened to wipe out his entire family.

The prophet later fled to Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital where he was arrested, taken back to Lagos and charged to court.

He was arraigned before Isolo Magistrates’ court, Lagos State on Friday on charges of obtaining under false pretence, stealing and threat to life of the victim.

He pleaded not guilty.

The police prosecutor, Oje Uagbale did not object to his bail, but asked the court to give bail conditions that will enable the defendant to come to court for trial since he has now relocated from Lagos State.

The presiding Magistrate, O.N. Ogbe granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Ndukwu was remanded in prison pending when he will perfect his bail condition.

3. The State Executive Committee (SEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Thursday, passed a vote of no confidence on the chairman of the party, Hon. Isaac Kekemeke. A statement by the Publicity Secretary of the party, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya said the SEC unanimously passed the vote of no confidence on the State Chairman, for failing to discharge his responsibilities. Engr. Ade Adetimehin has been chosen to act as the state chairman of the party.

Justice Gabriel Kolawole of an Abuja Federal High Court, on Thursday struck out one of the charges the Federal Government leveled against the alleged mastermind of the 2010 Independence Day bombing, Charles Okah. The judge disclosed that the charge was dismissed because the said evidence cited in court did not prove a case of treason as contained in count one of the charge.

5. The Super Eagles on Thursday night, defeated The Hawks of Togo 3-0 in an international friendly match played in Paris. Ahmed Musa scored two goals and Kelechi Iheanacho increased the Eagles’ lead all in the first half. There were no goals in the second half.

10. ​Moji ​Olaiya, the late actress, who died in Canada, will be buried at the Ikoyi Cemetery. Yomi Fabyi, publicity secretary for Moji Olaiya’s burial committee, made the announcement Thursday night. He didn’t give a date for the burial or when her body will arrive in Nigeria.

Wednesday afternoon was an end of the road for some group of men with two women whom were caught dressed like Pastors and members claiming they were going for a members burial, they were driving a white Hummer-Bus carrying a casket.

The Nigeria Army at Abuja-Sokoto express way stopped the bus at their check point ordering all of them to come down for them to conduct a search on them, they claimed they were heading to Kaduna for their acclaimed members burial but unluckily for them the Army insisted they will open the coffin, inside the casket was found AK riffles and bullets,They are in the Police custody facing the law.

A man in his late 50’s was seen in the street sleeping after getting him self drunk, a dog was seen kissing him.

What could be the reason why he was drunk?, some said it could be his economic situation, but i think that is not enough reason to do so, a man at his age should be in his office or work place by that time of the day or better still with his dear family.

A 25-year-old woman, Sandra Ishaku, was yesterday arraigned at a Jos Upper Area court, for allegedly selling her four-months-old baby for N100,000.

Ishaku, along with three others— Amaechi Emmanuel, Jones Osim and Gladys Chukwuma— were charged with conspiracy, cruelty and child abandonment.

According to the prosecutor, Mr. L. O. Ocho, Ishaku, on May 10, sold her baby to Chukwuma for N100,000.

Ocho told the court that the transaction was carried out in Jos, in the chambers of Osim, a legal practitioner.

“Ishaku conspired with Emmanuel and sold her baby to Chukwuma, who had just relocated from Ebonyi State to Jos,” Ocho added.

The Presiding Judge, Yahaya Mohammed, did not take the plea of the accused, opting to remand three of them— Ishaku, Emmanuel and Chukwuma— in prison custody, while the matter was adjourned to June 1, when hearing would commence.

Mohammed, however, granted Osim bail after his counsel, Mr. Lawrence Anya, pleaded that he be released on bail to the Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, Plateau State chapter.

A similar appeal by Mr. Peter Ikeolu, counsel to the three others, had earlier been rejected after the prosecutor argued that freeing them would affect investigation into the matter.

A condemned prisoner, Rabi Ismail, who escaped from custody in Hadejia prison on 16th December 2011 has been recaptured by the Nigeria Prisons Service and men of the Department of State Services (DSS). Prisons spokesman, Francis Enobore, said the prisoner was sentenced to death by hanging for culpable homicide by a High Court in Kano on the 5th of January, 2005, but escaped in 2011.

3. Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki yesterday insisted that his relationship with President Muhammadu Buhari remains cordial despite reports that the two are living like ‘cat and dog’. Saraki cleared the air when the National Executive of the Islamic group, Jamaatu Izalatul Bidiah Wa Ikamatus Sunnali (JIBWS) led by its President, Sheikh Mohammed Sani Yahaya Jingiri visited him at the National Assembly.

4. The Nigeria Police Force, on Tuesday arraigned a 50-year-old man, Ahmed Echodo, before a Magistrate’s Court in Abuja for allegedly misleading the police to conduct a raid at a building belonging to the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, on Friday. Security operatives had earlier ransacked Ekweremadu’s building penultimate Friday morning following information accusing the occupants of criminal offences.

5. The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has opined that the All Progressives Congress has no electoral value. Wike who alleged that there was an ongoing plan with security agencies to rig elections in 2019, said the poor performance of the party within the last two years had devalued it, adding that Nigerians had since discovered that the party was full of empty promises with no implementation.

The coroner in charge of the inquest constituted by the Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola to probe the cause of death of Senator Isiaka Adeleke, Olusegun Ayilara, has blamed the lawmakers death on drugs overdose. 2. The Indigenous People of Biafra has warned of alleged plans by the Department of State Services, DSS to use hired youths to sabotage the May 30th sit-at-home protest. IPOB media and publicity secretary, Mr Emma Powerful said in a press statement that over 100 youths have been hired, with t-shirts bearing the same inscription IPOB printed on them to be used Tuesday to impersonate genuine members and to cause trouble. He said the aim was foo kill innocent youths.

3. A report by Economic Confidential indicates that the IGR of Lagos State of N302bn is higher than that of 30 States put together excluding Lagos, Ogun, Rivers, Edo, Kwara and Delta States whose IGRs are very impressive at more than 30% each. The 30 other states merely generated a total of N258bn in 2016.

4. Various commands of the Nigeria Police have warned pro-Biafra agitators against unlawful activities following the May 30 sit-at-home order by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). The commands while giving the warning expressed their readiness to deal with perpetrators of violence.

5. Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, says President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration has fulfilled his campaign promises to Nigerians. Mohammed said through N-SIP, the Federal Government provided employment to 200,000 unemployed graduates, engaged 57,000 people through Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP) and empowered about 26,000 ordinary Nigerians through Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT).

The Lagos State Government has reportedly declined to negotiate ransom with the kidnappers of the six abducted pupils of Igbonla Model College, Epe, saying the security agencies should be able to secure the release of the pupils. Report says the government made its position known in a meeting with the parents of the pupils, where it said it would not talk with any kidnapper.

Just this morning, as Ugwumba Uche Nwosu was heading out for the day's assignment which include the big event of May 29, Democracy Day, he ran into an accident scene at Ochiedike Roundabout.In his characteristic humility and compassion, the Chief of Staff to the Imo State Government, Ugwumba Nwosu had to interrupt some official assignments in order to assist some passengers who were involved in what appears to be a ghastly automobile accident.

According to a report from Nwadike Chikezie, the Social Media aide to the Chief of Staff, the youthful Chief aide to the Imo State Governor, who is popularly addressed as Ugwumba worldwide, was on his way to a crucial state function, but had to stop by to attend to the accident victims,  as he values lives more than anything else.The accident involved two buses,one carrying women mostly traders somersaulted as seen  in the picture.

After he had personally supervised the evacuation of the accident victims to the ultra-modern Ochiedike Diagnostic and Dialysis Center, he instructed the hospital staff to ensure that they are given adequate and emergency attention. He expressed joy that no life was lost and charged motorists to adhere to traffic rules and regulations, and also ensure that they are lucid enough before taking on the wheels.
The crowd who witnessed the incident were full of praises for the Chief of Staff, commending his humility and unusual human compassion. They showered him with good wishes and prayed God to continue to lead him and open greater doors for him.

This is because the Nigerian Police has told its officers nationwide, to stop the harassment and extortion of motorists over renewal of vehicle tinted permit.
The development is as a result of the motion titled “need to save motorists from harassment and extortion by the police in the guise of renewal of vehicle tinted glass permit,” sponsored by Hon. Henry Daniel Ofongo (PDP, Bayelsa), and filed at the House of Representatives.
The Reps resolved that the Inspector General of Police should stop the directive on the renewal of the tinted permit, and the police has issued the directive.

The development is as a result of the motion titled “need to save motorists from harassment and extortion by the police in the guise of renewal of vehicle tinted glass permit,” sponsored by Hon. Henry Daniel Ofongo (PDP, Bayelsa), and filed at the House of Representatives.
The Reps resolved that the Inspector General of Police should stop the directive on the renewal of the tinted permit, and the police has issued the directive.
