It depends on what you want. If i were you, i'd go for the job and start building a professional career. You never know, your job might even send you for a PhD if they needed it. I had a similar situation and i chose job. again, it all depends on what you think will give you fulfillment. |
A team might just pull out for some reason which would give nigeria a chance. That's what i think could happen for us to qualify without raising eyebrows on the continent. But who cares about eyebrows sef, as long as we qualify somehow lol. |
Boy, this man's prophesies are always precise! He leaves out some subtle details which some elements take advantage of to interprete one way or the other. He recently predicted that a hero in America battling with an ailment would die but asked the congregation to pray to see if it was changeable. he never mentioned the hero's name. But any intelligent person would know the prediction was about Steve Jobs. Visit http://www.scoan.org/prophecy.htm |

I'm surprised when people start commenting on stories they really don't have all the facts. Let's wait to hear Odiah's side before rushing to conclusion. I wasn't born yesterday so i fully understand what I'm talking about. She could have manipulated her version of what transpired to win public sympathy. So, relax guys and let's hear from the other party. |

There is this character with username Mrs.Chima. Who is she? What's your opinion of her? I have been observing her for a while, she is always spewing negatives, almost always argumentative. While many people don't find her character appealing, i think in a way she is quite entertaining. She helps spice (some call it derail) threads up a bit. I think nairaland needs people like that - we can't all be too serious, you know? ![]() Do you enjoy the character she plays on nairaland? Vote now! |
Who is this Mrs.Chima? Don't you have any positive outlook on life? I tire for una o! I'm expecting your fierce response - plz don't disappoint |
It dawned on me recently that i don't get home to turn on the radio to listen to a radio program. I only listen to the radio while driving and no matter how interesting the radio program i stumble on is, the moment i park my car, that's where it ends. It's like i don't have a choice - as if to say, NEPA take light When i get home, it's all about TV, internet, movies, etc.Is it just me? |
Seun: On what standard did you base your action? I also experienced the same thing with my topic: view count fell from ~ 10000 to ~5000. I have never heard or seen that done anywhere. Imagine youtube, facebook, etc. doing the same. I think you should reverse that action immediately with apologies. That action is capable of eroding the integrity of this forum, causing unnecessary confusion, and also alienating some users. Interesting topics will always sell themselves. |
THERE were indications yesterday that Christians in Nigeria are considering the idea of setting up their version of non-interest banking. The association said it expects the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to deploy the same resources it had pushed into Islamic banking to make the planned Christian version a success. According to Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), it is studying the amount the CBN had invested in Islamic banking and would demand the same treatment when the Christian outfit is set for take-off. The new initiative of the association was made public yesterday in Benin City, Edo State, by CAN President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor. He said the CBN should demonstrate that it meant well for Nigeria by introducing non-interest banking and Islamic banking into the economy under uniform guidelines. Oritsejafor said until the CBN comes out with common modalities for the non-interest banking and then allows any interested party to go into the sector, its current position would continue to hurt the industry. He said the apex bank’s promotion of Islamic banking under the guise of non-interest banking was heating up the polity. In a keynote address at the 36th yearly national conference and general meeting of the Nigeria Christian Graduate Fellowship (NCGF) in Benin City, Oritsejafor said it was hypocritical for the CBN and some persons to be promoting Islamic banking in a secular country like Nigeria. He asked: “If they (CBN) say it is going to be Islamic banking because that is all we know about this non-interest banking, which ought not to be, and they claim it is for all Nigerians, is this true? Clearly, Islamic banking will be run according to Islamic laws. For example, if I own a piggery, will you give me a loan to operate it? The answer to me is no. For them to say if we don’t support it go to other banks when Islamic banking is purportedly for every Nigerian amounts to discriminating against such persons? Why is it that you are spending government’s money to promote it when it is certainly not for everybody? “We expect them to set uniform guidelines for all non-interest banking then any interested party can start according to their biases. “What we are telling the CBN governor is that he should be ready to spend the same billions when Christians eventually come up with their own. We are looking into what the CBN is spending on the project and we will come out with the figures. He (Sanusi Lamido Sanusi) will have to bring out that amount of money, he will have to make sure that Christians are trained in anywhere we need training. For example, in Sweden there is a very good Christian model of non-interest banking. So, Sanusi must get ready to bring out the billions to train over a thousand Christians in Sweden.” Oritsejafor said Nigeria needs prayers because the mistake a lot of people make is to think that those who speak out are against other religions. They are not, all we are asking for is equity and justice, we are not the ones that heat up the polity, we only respond to some of these things that certain persons throw up. Christians should pray, they should love their Muslim brothers, but not accept to be second-class citizens. Christians should educate people on the realities of some of these things and the implications.” Earlier, National President of the NCGF, Prof. Vincent Iyawe, said the fellowship was founded in 1975 in Ife, Osun State, with its headquarters in Abuja. He said the aim of the fellowship is to see “the enthronement of righteousness in our nation and to inform and educate the church that the socio-economic and political well-being of the nation is the responsibility of the church.” Meanwhile, former President of CAN, Rev. Sunday Mbang, has urged the country’s leaders not to heat up the polity through obnoxious policies. He gave the advice during a chat with journalists in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, as part of activities to mark his 75th birthday celebrations. On the planned Islamic banking, the former Prelate of Methodist Church Nigeria appealed to the National Assembly to prevail on the CBN to jettison the idea. “To make sure we don’t have crisis in this country, anything that anybody knows would bring problem in future should be avoided. My advice to the members of the National Assembly is that they should ask the CBN governor to put the issue of Islamic banking on hold. “Let him do things that would bring unity to Nigerians and not what generates controversy. I am advising the CBN governor to do things that would bring unity to the country,” he said. O boy, these Oluwole guys smart o! Anybody here with Oluwole visa?? |
THE long arm of the law on Sunday seized about 15 suspected fraudsters and forgers who specialized in forging counterfeit documents, including Nigeria’s International Passport. In a raid on Oluwole Market , Lagos Island, the Nigeria Immigration Service(NIS) State Security Service and the Police swooped on the market, arresting the suspects and taking away equipment they used in their illegal activities. Dozens of fake Machine Readable Passports, E-Passports, Fake Nigeria’s Coat of Arms, Visas of many countries, fake National Youth Service Corp Call-Up letters, signatures of University Vice- Chancellors, Registrars as well as Polytechnic Rectors were recovered from the syndicate. Speaking on the breakthrough, Comptroller of Immigration , Lagos State Command, Abbas Ahmed who held brief for the Comptroller General, Mrs. Rose Uzoma said the insistence by the Federal Government that security agencies must collaborate to ensure internal security was maintained has begun to yield dividends. “You may recall that the e-passport was introduced in July 2007 by the Federal Government as a solution to the challenges associated with the now rested Machine Readable Passport. “These challenges, which were due to the weakness in the overall document design, resulted in some Nigerians holding valid multiple passports. “ However, it has come to our notice that in few instances recently, the e-passport failed to pass litmus test when placed on our Readers/Scanners at the Immigration Control at our entry-exit points suggesting that there were attempts by unscrupulous elements to tamper with the credibility of the e-passport. “As a result of this we carried out a joint operation on Sunday at 39, Akani Street and 30 Seriki Street in Oluwole Market area of Central Lagos based on intelligence report. “What we found was mind boggling. “Although, screening is still on-going by our forensic analysts, we have discovered more than 500 incriminating items in the hard disk of the recovered equipment. “At this juncture, it is important to point out that from the exhibits gathered, these fraudsters are sophisticated and well informed. “They are aware when countries introduce new visa vignettes and other security endorsement to aid their operations and update their records accordingly. “ However, we wish to assure Nigerians and the international community that the credibility of the e-passport is still intact. As matter of fact, it is the security measures put in place by the Nigeria Immigration Service that has exposed these criminal activities and hence, the operation.” source: http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=58686:immigration-sss-raid-oluwole-market-smash-forgery-syndicate&catid=3:metro&Itemid=558 |
My guy, you know the situation better than anyone else. I'll just advise that you keep all options on the table including divorce. Meanwhile, don't ever attempt to strike her back or else you will be in real trouble. I think you should go and report the domestic violence to the police so it is at least on record. you cant continue to live that - something has to change. I have had a woman slap me before so i know what the experience is like. If it is not working, move on! |
