what exactly do you do? |
Hopefully the bank considered that the next time his son appears in court, he will be referred to as the son of the Chairman of Jaiz Bank, an islamic bank - you all know how the western media operate. I'm not sure what that will do to the company's PR. |
Using state funds in this way is inappropriate. If they really revered him and wanted to help him, they should set up a, say, "Save Ojukwu fund", for donations from their private pockets. This is just inappropriate and it only sets a bad precedence. |
I'm still surprised a health commissioner didn't know this - saying "strange baby" like a kindergarten. Who knows how many more health commissioners in the country are like this one. |
What's the latest in cement price? Too much talk about dangote, is dangote cement the best quality out there? Just asking, |

How come a comment by a random fan made news? Was it for lack of news to report or what? SUN journalism at its best! |
I liked what i saw on your link. Are you just into ceiling design? If not, what other interior design do you do? |
Please post link to your thread to see pictures. I thought you might need to bring in an interior designer before wiring and all that? |
When's the best time to involve an interior designer in a building project? Please provide recommendations on quality interior designers in Nigeria. |
What a dumb bill! A dumb way of going about it. Why not simply institute child support guildlines and sanction parents (i mean man and woman) who don't pay just like it's done in other countries. Why is the focus on "pregnant woman" and not on the child? I addition, how do you enforce this if the man moves to another state - outside lagos jurisdiction? Dumb! |
this na "wazobia" news. even a newborn would not fall for it. |
Do you agree with this report or is it just an exaggeration of the level of insecurity in Nigeria? http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/africa/08/04/country.comparisons.life.death/index.html?hpt=hp_t2 |
Why were the nationalities of other fraudsters not mentioned? "amala" journalism! |
That was a senseless act of violence! |
For the past one year, speculations had hovered thickly in the air that the marriage of celebrity presenter of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Frank Edoho, and his broadcaster wife, Catherine, was going through tempestuous times. On several occassions, they vehemently denied the tales which however refused to die down. Those who know insisted it was just a matter of time before their defence would crumble. Now, it has. Early Wednesday morning, Frank sensationally revealed on Twitter that the speculations were indeed true.punch newspapers Jul 22, 2011. http://www.thenetng.com/2011/07/20/frank-edoho-opens-up-im-separated-from-my-wife-and-its-irreconcilable/ |
Just few days after Titilayo, a banker in Lagos State was allegedly murdered by her 30-year old husband, Akolade Arowolo, who is now in police custody, tragedy again struck the banking industry Monday when a lady simply known as Motunrayo, a staff of a leading Bank in Nigeria, allegedly committed suicide. Huhuonline.com checks reveal that Motunrayo allegedly hung herself with a rope after she was jilted by her “sugar daddy”. Huhuonline.com sources reveal that the deceased had served as a longtime mistress to a well-known business tycoon (Name Withheld), who resides in Lagos with his wife and children. However trouble started when the business man ended the relationship because his wife had discovered that he was having extramarital affairs, and threatened to divorce him. The late banker, Motunrayo, had hoped to become his second wife, but the wife of businessman, who is alleged to be heavily invested in his business, threatened him with divestment, and turned his home into a battle ground. Thus, in order to deescalate the tension in his home, he reluctantly dumped Motunrayo. However, according to family sources, Motunrayo did not take the rejection well, "Since then, she had not remained herself as a result of the incident. She had done everything to bring back the man to no avail. She could not control the emotional trauma and so ended up taking her life,” a family member affirmed. Huhuonline.com learnt that Motunrayo, a graduate of Mass Communication from the University of Lagos, had fallen deeply in love with the married man, who was very instrumental to her growth at the banking sector. He ensured she always got colossal deposits from himself and other business associate; hence she always met her target. "She was sponsored by her lover (The business tycoon) to pursue her Master’s degree abroad," a source added. http://huhuonline.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3268:motunrayojilted-nigerian-female-banker-commits-suicide&catid=103:more-news

Does anyone know what Nigerian Dual-citizenship rules are? |
American Dual-Citizenship Rules The American government allows an individual to have dual citizenship, which means he is a citizen of the United States and of another country at the same time. A person becomes a citizen of two countries either by choice or by automatic operation of the law. While dual citizenship offers advantages such as residency in two countries or access to government programs, it may impose additional burdens on the dual national such as tax obligations. A person who has dual citizenship must be aware of the responsibilities that go with it. Acquiring Foreign Citizenship An American citizen may acquire another nationality by marriage to a foreigner if she chooses to also become a citizen of her husband's country. A person who has been naturalized as a U.S. citizen may not lose the citizenship from her country of birth provided that that country allows dual citizenship. An individual may also acquire dual citizenship by being born in the U.S. to immigrant parents or by being born in a foreign country to one parent who is a U.S. citizen and another parent who is a foreign national. The U.S. laws do not require an individual to choose only one citizenship. Losing U.S. Citizenship An individual who is automatically granted a foreign citizenship does not risk losing U.S. citizenship, but there are situations where he may lose it. U.S. immigration law states that an American citizen will lose his citizenship if he obtains foreign citizenship with the intention of relinquishing his U.S. citizenship, joins the armed forces of a country hostile to the United States, serves as an officer of a foreign state, accepts employment with the government of another country of which he is a citizen, formally renounces his citizenship within the U.S. or before a U.S. consular officer abroad, or is convicted of treason. Allegiance A person with dual citizenship must obey the laws of the United States and the foreign state because she owes her allegiance to both countries. To make entering and leaving the United States. easier, a dual national must use a U.S. passport. A foreign country may also require a dual national to use its passport when traveling to its country. Assistance Abroad While the United States allows dual citizenship, it does not encourage it because of problems that may arise when the dual national is in a foreign land. The United States has the duty to help its citizens when they need assistance abroad. But the claims of another country on an American citizen with dual nationality may conflict with U.S. laws, therefore limiting U.S. efforts to assist him. Generally, a foreign government has greater claims to the allegiance of the dual national who is in its territory. CrazyMan:How does going to the store to buy a lottery ticket amount to hanging out with unbelievers? Besides, how many co-workers of yours are believers or if you have your own business, do you ask your clients for their religious persuasion first before you do business with them? Gambling is strictly business. People participate in it, abiding by set rules and everyone has equal chance of winning. Remember, it's totally voluntary. CrazyMan:Jesus did that because those people turned the temple to a business center. But how does this passage, often quoted by people who think gambling is a sin, even make gambling a sin? Remember, Jesus "cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, ", does this make "buying and selling" a sin too? |
kunle00:Yes. Success is a weighted function of luck and hardwork. I believe there's no success without an element of luck. That's why the same trade Mr A has been doing for years without much to show for it other than sweat, Mr B could make it big in a short time with less stress. You can call it God's favor if you like. |
I recently told a friend of mine i was going to buy a lottery ticket and was surprised to hear him say that it was a sin - that gambling generally is a sin according to the bible. How is it a sin? Where is this in the bible or quo-ran? Gambling involves at least two people willfully participating in an activity under mutually agreed terms for certain benefits. As long as they are not breaking the law, it is not a sin. Some may reason that because gambling could be addictive, that's why it's a sin. That doesn't make it a sin. How about all other stuff that are addictive? After all, life itself is a gamble. What do you think? |
That's a good one! |
Why has Aregbesola refused to appoint commissioners eight months after being sworn in as Osun governor? The governor of Osun State, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, has been dragged before an Osun State High Court in Osogbo over his refusal to appoint commissioners almost eight months since assuming office. A pensioner, Major Raphael Towobola (retd) and a businessman, Mr Adedotun Adebowale, in suit number HOS/M.53/2011 filed by their counsel, Kehinde Adesiyan, on Tuesday, are seeking an order of mandamus to compel Aregbesola to appoint commissioners. They also seek another order of the court declaring as null and void all policies including award of contracts, financial spendings and other activities of government requiring the deliberations and assent of the Osun State Executive Council but which Aregbesola unilaterally carried out. Filed along with the suit is a motion ex parte seeking the leave of the court for a judicial review to compel Aregbesola to constitute his cabinet as stipulated in the constitution. The plaintiffs set out eight grounds upon which the reliefs were sought among which is that the appointment of commissioners in any state is statutory and mandatory by virtue of Section 192(1), 193 and 195 (1 and 2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. http://tribune.com.ng/index.php/news/24605-aregbesola-dragged-to-court-over-lack-of-cabinet |
High_Chief:I think the security guy in question should file a lawsuit and make him pay through his nose. Barbarians! |
Evil Brain:Eski sir, you forgot to add that "this is a do or die affair". ![]() |
I thought Paddy was well-educated and well-mannered enough to check the excesses of his bodygaurds. Hmm, just might be wrong!! |
The mobile Police and body guards attached to Paddy Adenuga the son of business mogul Mike Adenuga, seems to derive pleasure in harassing innocent citizen. His security guards struck again on Sunday June 12 at Get Arena, venue of Jimmy Jatt's Jimmy's Jump Off event. They beat up the security guard at the gate because he blocked the entrance of the venue and 'dared' to ask Paddy and his friends for their invites to the show. http://www.thenigerianvoice.com/nvlifestyle/54161/16/paddy-adenuga-and-his-unscrupulous-bodyguard.html |
sad!!! |
Sagamite:Which part of the constitution or which law prohibits homosexuality in Nigeria? Or is this just another bogus claim? |
