Being married is a beautiful experience I must say; the euphoria of having to live with a man you love does not go away for a while. For some people, it does not go away at all as every day is a new experience for them. Couples at the initial stage of their marriages are so concerned about living right and doing everything well. They try as much as possible to be of best behavior and avoid things that would make them fight. Overtime, the level of work they put into the relationship or marriage reduces. This is because many of them suddenly get comfortable with their partners and feel there is no need to impress them anymore. They become too relaxed and assume their partners would not go anywhere; most of the promises they made to each other at the beginning of their relationship get broken and they do not pay any attention to it. Women are guilty in this aspect; many of them stop being sassy and classy the moment they get married. They feel they have nothing more to lose once they are married. This piece would be looking at the things Nigerian wives do after marriage. Here are some of the things Nigerian wives would always do in marriage: 1. Level of hygiene reduces We all know how conscious women are when it comes to their level of hygiene during courtship. They do not want the men to be turned off and do everything they could to be the attractive ladies who want to settle down as soon as possible. After being married, these women start to relax and pay little or no attention to themselves. They do not shave regularly and only do so when their husbands complain about it. This piece is not aimed at humiliating anyone, but then it would be nice for many of the Nigerian wives to step up in this aspect. Unshaven pubic hair could be a turn off for their husbands and it also harbors dirt. 2. Not paying attention to their husbands’ rants Many women in this part of the country do not enjoy watching football. They would rather watch African Magic channels, Telemundo or Zee world. They understand that football matters to the men and would allow them have their moment. One thing Nigerian wives are known for when it comes to football is not paying attention. As much as the men talk to them about a team and the coach, they really cannot tell which is which. 3. Being poky As much as women could act indifferent and nonchalant about their husbands’ affairs, they still want to know what they have been doing on their phones. Nigerian wives would always steal a moment or two to peep at their husbands’ phones when they are not within their reach. Curiosity they say kills the cat. Nigerian wives know they would always find something that would bother them when they check their husbands’ phones but they still do it anyway. 4. When they insult their husbands’ family members Many women in Nigeria are guilty of this. When their children do things they do not like, they blame their husband’s family instead. Although they do this jokingly, it is a habit they can never stop. Also, when their children ask them for things that are not within their reach, they tell them to go meet their father’s family members. In this part of the world, we understand that women make lots of sacrifices for their children. 5. Using the children as an excuse to avoid sex Child birth could affect the libido of some women; for some other reasons, some may not be interested in having sex as much as they used to. These are logical reasons that could be stated. But many wives in Nigeria would rather use the kids as an excuse to avoid doing it with their husbands. They either say the kids will hear them or that they are tired. Even when a marriage counselor talks to them about the need to connect sexually with their husbands, they would always do this. 6. When they cannot help sneering at their mother-in-law Many wives in Nigeria treat their mothers-in-law with contempt. They do not like having them around and would prefer to live alone with their husbands and children. Most of the Nigerian wives cannot help sneering when their husbands say their mothers’ cooking is the best in the world. Many of them are always looking for a means of putting the older women in their place when they visit. Cc Seun tosyne2much sexybbstar |

Editor’s note:The writer Buchi Obichie chastises Nnamdi Kanu for his constant insults hurled at those who oppose his position. She further challenges him to take up the ‘live debate challenge’ extended by Joe Igbokwe, even as she notes that Kanu’s utterances are what really resemble the actions of the animal he chose to describe others as. My younger brother and I argue often. He has always had a better command of facts than me; and one of the most important lessons I have learned from him is not to be emotional during arguments, but to be logical. Okay well, I also learned that from Don Vito Corleone in ‘The Godfather'. In any case, it is always important to place a distinction between ‘personalities’ and ‘issues’, when debating over matters of consequence. When you focus on character assassination, you dwell on the emotional, and could easily sway your audience over to the side of your opponents, with your constant attacks on them. But when you focus squarely on the issue and back up your argument with relevant data, you are more likely to gain the upper hand. This is a lesson that Nnamdi Kanu does not seem to have learned so far. During a recent address of his supporters in his hometown, Kanu went off again, hurling insults at those who do not agree with his point of view. He stated: “All those idiots with Biafran names that say they want to be Nigerians are Pigs!” He also stated: “I want to stress that if you are a Nigerian, you are evil and a child of Satan!” Well, I bear an Ibo name, but I do not want to become a Biafran. Quite frankly, I love being a Nigerian. Now, I would know if I was a Pig, wouldn’t i? If I was a Pig, it is very unlikely that I would be walking around on two feet alone, or that I would even possess the intellectual capacity to pen this piece. Even if you take the statement metaphorically, I still cannot be described as the four-legged creature! Then again, how does Nnamdi Kanu identify a ‘child of Satan’ solely on their national identities/inclinations? Is choosing to remain a Nigerian now a trait of unrighteousness? LOL! Maybe I need to go back and consult my bible…I must have missed an important verse! To a large extent though, I think I can understand the method behind Kanu’s madness. History has shown that when people feel disenfranchised, they would readily align themselves with any person who promises them something better…even if it is a promise they have no idea about how to fulfill! But then again, when I look into the faces of those who attend Kanu’s colorful and highly entertaining rallies, I wonder how many of them are there simply out of curiosity about the man, than for a genuine yearning for this Biafra! In any case, my point is this - Nnamdi Kanu cannot win an argument based on insults…it only makes him look weak and very childish! You know what I would like to see though? I would like to see Nnamdi Kanu in a televised debate with leaders of thought, addressing the issue of the Biafran agitation. I believe that an invitation has already been extended by Joe Igbokwe…Kanu is yet to accept the invitation…he should. He has a penchant for addressing crowds in rural areas; but I think most of us would love to see him participate in an intellectually stimulating debate, based on facts, and devoid of insults…if he can…on live TV…away from his fan base. Let’s see how he does! Anyone can hurl insults in market squares when he is in control of his audience; but let’s see how Kanu does when he has to argue his case on a stage, with another human being who holds an opposite view, and with the whole country watching…live! Mr. Kanu, prove thyself! Now, I would conclude by going back to Kanu’s statement. You see, there is a saying from the bible that “by their fruits, you shall know them”. That means a person can be judged based on his actions. Pigs have a defining trait- they roll around in dirt. If we were to undertake a study of Nnamdi Kanu and describe his personality based on his utterances so far, we would definitely find a lot of nasty comments. Now, metaphorically speaking, Kanu can be said to be constantly 'rolling in dirt' whenever he opens his mouth at his rallies! So, who is the Pig now? This opinion piece was written by Buchi Obichie. In this opinion piece, writer, Ekenyerengozi Michael Chima, traces the origin of the name 'Biafra' which he claimed has no origin in the Igbo language. He claimed that pro-Biafra activist, Nnamdi Kanu, and members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) are ignorant about the Igbo origin. When I say that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the Radio Biafra broadcaster and self acclaimed leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and his followers are intellectually retarded, they will feel insulted and provoked. But their intellectual ignorance is a fact and not an insult. The fact that a group of Igbos are barking like dogs and calling themselves a name that is not in the #Igbo dictionary and did not originate from Igbo tribe is a disgrace and a shame. The name of Biafra is a foreign name, whereas the name of Nigeria originated from the River Niger. From archeological discoveries and etymological studies, there is nothing linking Igbos to the Jews. The Jewish link is mere myth of fantasy without any evidence in the DNA mapping. The origin of the Igbos is clearly shown in the Igbo Ukwu Art of Ọ̀ràézè Ǹrì dating back to 948 CE. Case closed. Origin of Biafra The Bight of Biafra, or Mafra (named after the town Mafra in southern Portugal), between Capes Formosa and Lopez, is the most eastern part of the Gulf of Guinea; it contains the islands Fernando Po [Equitorial Guinea], Prince’s and St Thomas’s. The name Biafra - as indicating the country - fell into disuse in the later part of the 19th century. A 1710 map indicates that the region known as "Biafar" (Biafra) was located in present day Cameroon. Cc lalasticlala wristbangle warship |
Sometimes, in a relationship we often do not realise that we are being controlled by our partner for a long period of time. But as time passes by, we experience the negative effects of being in an abusive and controlled relationship. A guy who does not realise that his controlling nature is a problem will not be ready to accept the fact that he is controlling his partner. This can lead to misunderstandings and problems. Being in a controlled relationship has adverse effects on the mental health of the person as the girl becomes unsure of what is happening around. They think they are over-reacting or over-imagining a problem or even being extra-sensitive. This kind of a relationship will be bad for anyone as living with abusive people isn’t pleasure. Here are some signs of men who controlling too much. Signs of men who controls too much are: 1. You Are His Everything: When a guy wants you to be with him throughout the day, it is not good. Having your own personal space is very much important, and this applies to both the partners. When there is no privacy, it becomes an issue of control and the relationship gets sour. This is one of the biggest sign of being controlled. 2. Lesser Contact With Family And Friends: He does not like it when you contact your family and friends more often. It makes him feel insecure and he asks you to cut down your contact with them as he thinks only he surrounds your world. He says he wants you to spend time with him and gives reasons like your family is over-controlling you. Make sure you do not give up on your family and friends for a man who does not understand your priorities. 3. Different Rules: You may be bound to share your passwords (of mails and social sites) with him but when you ask him the same, he retaliates. He gets to hang out with your male friends but does not like it when you ask him about his set of friends. Remember that you both stand an equal place in the relationship and you cannot be controlled by any. 4. His Interests Are Important: You slowly start realising that all the important priorities and interests of your personal life are being over-shadowed by his. He likes to take you to concerts and movies which might not interest you. When you ask him the same to join in an event of your choice, then he bluntly denies. 5. He Is Never At Fault: He never agrees his mistakes. He suffers certain fears and phobias but never admits the same. The guy who controls too much, thinks that anything that goes wrong might be because of you. When you complain about anything then you realise that there is a sudden storm of blame game happening. This is one of the signs of men who control too much. These are the signs of men who controls too much. Lalasticlala wristbangle tosyne2much |
