All these people and their old wife tales mentality. Well i met a guy when i was on holidays(i met him a day before i was to leave town), we exchanged numbers. we got talking on the phone for about 6months, after which we decided to see each other, he took a flight to my base, and that night we couldnt resist each other and we did it. I was not proud of it though. Did that act make a slut in his mind- nope because we are getting married in May this year |
davidylan:Well said David, you just hit the nail on the head. The igbos will say 'Gbam"! |
For me, its Chris Ngige or Soludo but who am i to decide, when they already know whom they will say won the election. As if whoever wins an election in Nigeria would be sworn in. make them carry go jare! Nigeria we hail thee |

Snoring-Hmmmn. I once had a guy i was supposed to get married to. The first time i spent the night, i couldnt sleep, he was snoring so loud that i was just tossing on the bed. I then decided to apply some old tricks to lure me to sleep- like counting imaginary sheeps jumping over a fence, but that didnt work. I woke up with a migrane(not a headache o) after i doozed off in the wee hours of the morning. |
It surprises me when people think that they can sue thebank for ATM fraud and win. Before an ATM card was primed for you, the bank would have made you to sign a form requesting for the card, and behind the form there are numeruos terms and conditions which you have to agree to before signing. Those terms and conditions contains some legal crap you nad i cannot understand. but be rest assured that by appending your signature, you have exonorated the banks should a fraud pass through your account via ATM. Secondly, how are we sure that you havent compromised your PIN, or maybe you used your card on a site that isnt properly secured. Moreso, these fraudsters have gone haywire, they now have a device called a card reader that they insert into an ATM machine. these card readers can access both your card numbers and your pin while u are using it, when you are done, they just help you wipe out what is left in your account. That is why it is advisable that before you use any ATM machine, just scan it to be sure that it is free from any foreign body. its also wise to use ATMs located inside banking premises, as these ones located outside banking premises are prone to fraudsters. more secured is to have a card- Cash card and load with with whatever amount you deem fit, and only use this cash card to shop online, on POS machines, and ATMs. your life savings should not be connected to the ATM at all. when you have run out of funds in the cash card, you can use Internet Banking to reload. Simple and short |
pabanton:Pls listen to the news again o. this your 5pm to 10am sounds absurd. Abeg before this khaki guys give you 1million frog jumps that may condemn your legs |
pabanton:Rock haven where i live was relatively peaceful. Though shops are locked, i've got food all stocked up in my freezer and im just praying that i dont run out of cooking gas the curfew has been reviewed. its now 10am-5pm and the motor bikes (okadas) have been banned till further notice. the only scary thing now is the presence of fake military guyz who are going from house to house killing people & i think a couple of them were captured around that your Lowcost area, some at Buuru and GadaBiu. So please be very careful. May God keep us safe in the hollow of his hands. |
airstrike has been approved and anyone seen in groups would be wasted. Helicopters were just hovering all over the place. It seems like a very bad movie, its so unfortunate that we are one of the actors just today, according to my brother, as they were all running for safety, a military man just aimed at one woman and shot her dead for doing absolutely nothing. you need to see their eyes, these military guys have smoked God knows what. I have been indoors since, afraid to move around my area is catching. heard that "rayfield" one of the most safest place is bubbling right now. I have friends who ran to Rayfield thinking its safe, i wonder what their fate would be right now. I am feeling very sleepy, but im scared to close my eyes. So please nairalanders instead of quarelling, can u guys please pray for our safety here in Jos. No be small thing de happen. |
why are they always trying to give lame excuses for these crisis In September 2001- it was a lady that allegedly passed infront of them when they were praying November 2008- That the person that won jos north LGA chairman was not their candidate Jan 2010- one alhaji was not allowed to renovate this house. Haba, very soon it will sonn be that because AIT or silverbird showed one naked woman when he was just about going out for ablution and as succh, his mind have been polluted. To the moslems in the house, im sorry to say this, but your people have let you down. i will come back later |
i have read thru this thread and the truth is the media is being economical with the truth. the gist about a moslem not allowed to renovate his house is baldadash being fabricated by daily trust. i am in jos so i can give u guys the news to the best of my knowledge. the whole mayhem was planned. there were rumours that they(moslems) wanted to disrupt peace here in jos on the 18th of december so that the christians wouldnt enjoy their xmas celebration. but security was beefed up and they relaxed. So on sunday a group of moslems miscreants were playing football in front of St micheal's Catholic church at Nassarawa while a mass was going on. Their ball entered the church, and the cathecist siezed the ball after several warning that they were disturbing the mass. So beacuse of that they became violent and the whole drama ensued from there. A lot of them were caught with fake military uniforms, so for God sake, if it werent preplanned, will pple just decide to wear military uniforms to play ball? As at last night, at about 2am, the few moslems around my neighbourhood were going from gate to gate alerting their own people in Hausa (which i dont understand) and we noticed that as soon as they passed information, the man of the house goes in starts his vehicle and leaves with the entire family. we were wondering what this was all about until the fresh mayhem broke out this morning. this is even more deadlier that what the media are reporting and left to me alone, these volatile areas should just be declared green zone by Gov Jonah jang. Truth be told, these moslems are bad, wicked and blood thirsty. As at 10am despite the shots by the military, the bell to the cathedral went off signifying problems and that wass when the indigenes and other christians got angry and started burning anything belonging to a moslems. On Zaria road, where we have a lot of car stands belonging to the moslems, as at Saturday, a lot of them were seeing moving thier cars but nobody suspected anything. Today along my area, one car stand belonging to a moslem had ONLY the cars of one poor christian chap who just came back from a trip. The man was called upon to bring the keys to the office so that they could remove those cars, but he said he left for abuja that same saturday and his boys are not available for that purpose. What the igbo chap did was to write on the cars "these cars belong to Jesus- the one and only true God". it was funny at first to me and kind of pathetic. Anyway i cant continue as i have indoors since and cant gather information, but if they said 20 are feared dead please multiply that number by 15. It is well. I rest my case |
emeke_123: some people sef!!! Jack Bauer is still alive, you can come with him and scofield. nonsense, your accent has changed ko, your accent has changed ni. Abeg go siddon |
Ije004:And that is very true!!. Back in them days at the univeristy i witnessed this. Group of Hausa men with their long beards and their chewing sticks in their mouths stepping on the dough to get it thoroughly mixed. I was disgusted because i was a fan of that bread and i actually went to the bakery to get myself freshly baked, steaming hot bread only to discover that. Sweet sensation is not and cannot be the only offenders. Just recently i went to Mama cass along Wuse 2 just after Krystal lounge for those of you who know Abuja, i had beans and plantain (+ food poisoning) and i was not myself for about 2days. the annoying part of it was that it happened the night my boyfriend paid me a surprise visit and i was shuttling between my room and the restroom every 10 mins. I have had meatpie from the almighty Mr Biggs that was made with rotten beef, and when i went back to complain, all they did was apologise without refund. On another occasion, i ordered for fried rice at d same biggs at about 5.30pm, and i was served soured rice, they changed it and blamed it on the fact that the rice was prepared since morning and because of the veggies got soured quickly. As for the local bukas along the streets, i believe that anyone who patronizes them already knows h/she is taking a risk. I love the word otukpo used- he called them cholera joints, so i believe if one patronizes these bukas, somewhere at the back of your mind you must really doubt the quality of the food. But for the likes of them sweet sensation and Mr Biggs, TFCs, Tantalizers, Southern fries, etc, we DEMAND food that were prepared under hygeinic conditions at least to justify the amount of money we spend there. Anyway it is not cost effective eating out here in Abuja, so my dear its safer and cheaper to prepare your food |
One Hundred thousand is too much. What i think is that they would soon release him free of charge after feeding him with lots and lots of green bottles like Pete edochie |
its nairaland any day any time. Infact i set NL as my default web page. I harldy go on face book. To me facebook lacks information. I get all the latest on NL. It keeps me updated. Nairaland- na u biko @Seun, pls dont mind those bad belle pple that are rubbish your site. You did a wonderful job here |
that lady no de talk true. You guys should please read in between the lines. I think she had a very bad approach to work. She was just a lazy person. How come ALL her colleagues are not on her side? Abeg she is just trying to start a case she cannot finish. First and foremost, as a contract staff, there are certain things you are not entitled to. 1. You cannot be an account officer/manager. You get the accounts and core officers of the bank are assigned to manage those accounts. 2. You are not entitled to the pool car, so why all that baldadash of her not being allowed to use the official car. I am a marketer in one of the banks and i can confidently say that NO manager, i repeat no manager will FORCE you to compromise yourself to get an account. The aspect of she being advised to wear mini skirt is exaggerated. I think probably she was advised to be smartly dressed, and she is taking it the other way round. We have her types in my office who are not willing to learn. If you even dig deep, you will find out that she must have probably compromised herself several times and when accounts no gree come, she's now trying to turn the case against the bank so that she will not loose out completely. For me she no get better case. I dont know the lady in question, but from the story- she is just a lazy, rude |
my problem with pple on this thread is the singular focus on intercontinental Bank. Five CEOs were sacked but Akingbola is on áll lips. we have 24 banks in nigeria, out of which only 10 has been audited. the results led to the outright sack of the MDs. If i may ask, why didnt sanusi wait to fully audit alllother banks b4 unleashing his terror? why is he giving the other banks ample time to cook up their books and put their house in order? it means ther is a personal beef btw sanusi and akingbola, to include all others to me is just a cover up I still have faith in intercontinental and that faith will not die. Intercontinental has over 1.3 trillion deposit base and they are being punished for giving out about 200billion if i am not mistaken? Yes a lot of those loans were classified as non performing by cbn, but what is 200billion compared to 1.3trillion. peeps, dont forget that the demarketing saga of about 4 months back were traced to first bank when sanusi was MD, it now msakes a lot of sense as to why he is going to far in his approach. all banks i know must have given out facilities which were mostly for acquisition of stocks and for oil and gas, but if you are following the trend of things you will know what happened in the stock market and oil sector. all i expected sanusi to do was make them provide 100 percent for alll bad loans before releasing their annual report for 2008, at least then we might know the true position of the bank, but his approach to this whole thing was rather harsh. i am being forced now to believe what i read sometimes back in march about a plot by some group to bring down top 5 banks in nigeria of which intercontinenttal bank was on that list. Anyway as for me, i am still with them and i dont have intentions of moving elsewhere, i intend to siddon look and only time will vindicate this man called akingbola. |
z-murda, no need to haunt, i am very much around. I do not want to say much, you guys shld leave the man alone. We are watching, it will only take time, but we all will see the end of this saga |
Dr Balogun Please iwould love to know my chances. I was diagnosed of Stage one hypertension sometimes last year and the doctor recommended a change in lifestlye to monitor it, after they discovered that it (hypertension) runs in my famuliy they placed me on one drug( i cant remember the name). That one caused me severe headaches and they changed it to Atenol (Tenoric-50and vasoprin). So i really would love to know the side effects of this atenol because i would really want to stop it. Initially my BP was 150/100 and im just 31 (dont mind my profile age o) and yet to be married, after a while of being on the drugs it stabilized on 140/80. A friend of mine introduced me to a DETOX Diet which i have been on for a month, and coupled with Daily Water therapy, i noticed that my BP has been fluctuating between 120/80 and 125/79. It seems to be a great development as i have even lost a few pounds and i am considering stopping the drugs and strictly be on the Detox Diet I am really scared of the side effects, so i want to know my chances if i stop this medication. |
PurestBoy:Hmmmmmnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. ![]() Chuckdee:Forget the tone of my message and try digesting the points that were raised. Anyway just like factsman or shaunscot said, If they say a bank is going under- only time will tell and i very much agree with him on that. biolabee:Thanks |
Aproko:Thank you jare!!! where is the original initiator of this thread, he seems to have vanished into thin air. Anyway, hi everyone hope we are still friends? |
Shaunscot:Well Said!!!. Thank you very much Nairalanders- I Apologise. |
MrCrackles: ![]() You are just a case study!!! |
Try Damatol, and believe me IT WORKS. i once had problems with dandruff and Damatol worked perfectly well for me. Just try it, but i must warn you its really hot and it helps in hair growth. |
Shaunscot:Thank you very much @Factsman- Well spoken!! Thank goodness i have supporters!!! Anyway i spoke with so much venom because of all the recent attacks on our banks by Nairalanders and if i have offended some people, i SINCERELY APOLOGISE, but i think we should be mindful of the way we speak at times especially about banks in nigeria. Boredom should not make one open a thread just to speak bad about a bank. Anyway my advise is this- if you are not happy about a bank, just quietly move to another, at least if they loose about 50% of their customers, they would definitely have a second look at their policies. Someone mentioned, Zenith bank that charges you N65 while using their own ATM, why dont we hear so much noise about that, why Intercontinental? We are not being fair on IBPLC!!! Lets think about it, its someone's business you are all trying to run down. |
Purist:ATM machines does not run on water, and even if it does run on water, water aint free in this country ogahimself:becos i hate all unneccssary bad focus on Intercontinental bank gent2ken:I can see you leave abroad, and that's why you really write impeccably well. your grammar is well dictioned Kemjisuper:are you sure your brother did not divulge his card info to this fake interswitch site ?Anyway Intercontinental bank is not a charity organization, if you dont like the bank- you have 23 other choices PS- I am not married to any inetrcontinental staff, neither am i a staff of the bank. I am simply a business woman Finecat:you have just explained why you are a CAT. Get your facts right b4 you come and start blabbing rubbish. I hope to eat your words come end of this year |
mylifevik:What else were you expecting from a boy ?? |
Haba!!! charge you for stepping into the banking hall, that is hilarious ![]() But anyway, i dont think i have ever noticed a monthly charge for account maintainance on my statement, and my first ATM card was FREE, this i am very very very sure about. The only thin is that they charge you N50 whenever you use the ATM machine and initially i didnt find it funny, but i am kind of cool with that now, afterall how else do u expect them to pay their workers and maintain the assest of the bank. They also charge N100 monthly that is if you registered on their internet banking platform. Asides those charges, i dont know anyother. I operate an IPSA and a current account with them and i must say i am satisfied, my only problem is that the banking all is always jam packed, and if these complainers can move to any community bank or microfinance bank, then they should go and lets find space to transact whenever we need to |
I am not a staff, I am a customer and i am not defending them. Its just these Nairalanders think they can just wake up and tarnish the reputation of a bank. They've been up against Intercontinental, oceanic and co, and now its Intercontinental again. Its really annoying. now back to the points you raised- Yes in the Uk debit cards might be issued fred of charge and they will be deducting a specific amount monthly for account management. Buy here in Nigeria, i dont think they do that. Intercontinental does not debit you monthly for maintaining your account, so if you need the card, you pay one off and thats it, no additional charge, and if you misplace the card, you will get a charge of N1000 for a card re-issue, If you dont put those laid down procedures, Nigerians would abuse it by being careless with their cards and blame the banks if they loose their funds. The other magnetic stripe cards were issued free of charge (I guess their staff will correct me if i am wrong.), so whats all these song and dance about N500 for a more secured card. Why didnt that GT Bank customer open a thread to thrash GT Bank for charging N1000 on the same card Intercontinental charges N500 for? I just feel the public is not being fair on the Intercontinental bank, if they are in one way not pleased with the bank, there are at least other 23 banks in Nigeria, they should quietly pull out their funds from intercontinental and move to another bank and let the serious minded people find space, peace and serenity to carry out their business with Intercontinental. |
@z-murda, thank goodness you said former employee, becos you do not deserve to be a present employee of that bank. I dont think the likes of you can go far, and that's why you were laid off. The bank even made a mistake employing you in the first place ( thats if truly you were once employed) kufreabasi:Yes they demand N500 from both old and new customers alike. But like i said, its not compulsory, if you dont want the card, just notify them and they wouldnt prime any card for you |
which one is better- pay N500, N1000 or even N2000 to get a more secured card, or loose all your mony one day to fraudsters? I dont mind paying to make sure my hard earned savings is not lost |
u dey enjoy o
