Sinizia, please, can you help us with the semi-finalists fixtures? Let them drop on Monday. Thanks. |
teddybiyasi:Baby, I lost your contact. Where've you been? |
Jigsawkillah, come see how Oluwagrin take end your career. Ekpa! ![]() |
Rexaxe didn't come prepared. MVGT - Giyazz! |
Creativity - Tie Entertainment - Obesemf Rhymes - Jason21 Flow - Obesemf Consistency - Tie Vocabulary - Jason Emotion Jason21 Imagery - Jason21 I think Jason went deep on this one. He satisfied the topic, as explained by the Op, better than his opponent. His story was amazing but I believe he could have done better with the closer. MVGT - Jason21! |
Creativity - 2 points - Tie Entertainment(Enjoyability) - 2 points - Tie Rhymes - 2 points - Tie Flow - 1 point - Tie Consistency on Topic - 3 points - Tie These guys acted like twin brothers the way they matched every criterion with almost the same rhyme scheme and script layout. They both came prepared IMO. But I'm giving the W to Llaykorn for completing his lines. MuhdG was just a lazy lad MVGT - Llaykorn! |
Guykhena, please, help us draft next fixtures for the KOP. To resume Wednesday. Thanks, bro. |
Based on criteria and what I think the Op really wanted, I'd say the two lads did a fair job of the topic. So I won't bother judging with the criteria. The competition is almost 50/50 but I think Obesemf takes this with a slight edge. His experience from Grayline's thread must have given him an insight. I try visualizing the imagery from both verses and I see myself relating more with Obesemf's. So while Raplinx was more consistent with rhymes and puns, Obesemf was giving us a hood mental picture of his childhood background. Best parts: back in the days, When we sat in the class bragged how we sail/ n mocked those who failed/MVGT - Obesemf! |
Giyazz, you're making a mistake by not tagging Rebel in your list, you know? Anyway, na me go prepare the main list sha. |
I'll give the win to Giyazz simply because his own verse is more assimilated to the hip hop/rap style. In a poetic setting, Pdizzle would have won this bout hands down because he satisfied every criteria listed. This is even why I don't want to use the criteria. His rhymes are not just better but superior to Giyazz's; (it's not just about multies but perfection) his flow is just on point and he is consistent with the topic. I take the blame of not introducing him to our style on here. Good work, Pdizzle! I'd advise you to start reading verses on FFR to learn out style and get fully incorportated. Nice showing, bro. MVGT - Giyazz! |
Next round qualifiers Jason21 MuhdG Rexaxe Llaykorn PeinDanzo Giyazz Jigsawkillah ? |
Creativity - 2 - Jig Entertainment - 2 Oluwagrin ![]() Rhymes - 2 Jigsaw Imagery - 2 Oluwagrin Consistency on Topic - 3 Jigsawkillah Mvgt- Jigsaw Oluwagrin lost this bout because his competitive strength is no match for Jig's. But this dude has a good sense of humour! I just can't help laugh over his lines. But then he didn't stick to the topic - how come your supposed crush is seen kissing you, meeting you for "an extra pen" while the opposite should have been the case? You were supposed to be the one doing all those and not the other way round. And, dude, you're hardly rhyming! You really need to work on it. Nice showing, anyway. |
PeinDanzo is just lucky his opponent didn't bring enough heat in his own verse. You dropped a classic but completely ignored the given topic to form his own. The first rule of topical is consistency. Please, always ensure you obey this rule as ignoring it can cost you a battle. Iceskidd actually dropped a verse here yesterday but I told him to withdraw it because Pein was offline. He would still have lost the game, anyway, because his verse was no match for his opponent's. MVGT - Pein! |
GIYAZZ:Stop complaining. This is weekend and you don't expect everybody to be less busy. Moreover, two people have voted in your thread already. It's not as if you were completely ignored. |
Opened for votes Sinizia Funlord Adanna28 Guykhena Alexpissu Reyginus Emaprince Krone |
JigsawKillah:Na you been dey disturb me yesterday to open the thread say u wan post. And your battle na yesterday, not today. |
Cc: Funlord Sinizia Reyginus Adanna28 Guykhena Since we don't have the power to lock threads or hide posts, I think we should stop opening threads many hours before deadline to avoid free-posting and all sort of derailment. As it is now, there's no KOP thread that has not been derailed. The most annoying is the one that happened to Sinizia's thread. One yeye person from nowhere jumped in and posted a long ass verse in it, and to make it worse, Raplinx quoted the verse again. |
llaykorn:You're welcome, bro. |
MuhdG:LOL! So if I wan battle na Payne? ![]() |
liricyst:I know. I just dey play. |
ELYMAXiimus:I simply told you what I know and added some explanation as well. Text battle schemes are quite different from their audio counterpart. Can you also explain why most audio wordplays are not pardonable in text? When you battle someone in text, your focus must be on your opponent. |
llaykorn:Yes, you can twist it anyhow you like. That's where complexity comes in. It's risky, though, because you'll always have to make it even. If you start with three you must add another three to balance it. But just so you don't make a mistake, two is advisable. |
llaykorn:Very good! Lemme explain, using some lines in your verse as example. The first bar: James thinks my bars have gotten whacker with timeI'm sure you wanted to do four syllables here but the starting rhymes 'whacker/weaker' don't rhyme. It's not a must that every word in the syllables must rhyme but always ensure that the first and the last do; you can slant those in the middle. No problem about that. This Saturday; I will spend it in five different waysDue to the way you kicked off, I assumed you adopted the two-line scheme, but you derailed here when you couldn't end the 4th line with a word that rhymes with ways/bae/ and away - the 4th's end rhyme is 'all' which doesn't match with the scheme. Even the "all" doesn't really rhyme with "burn". Burn can go with "learn/yearn/earn/turn/spurn", etc. And I've had my girls threaten me to take their livesTwo things went wrong here: you did five lines, which is odd and the "exams" in the middle doesn't rhyme with the rest. Aside these, you did a very good job and I'm Funlord is satisfied with the way you executed his topic. Kudos, bro. |
Will vote tomorrow. ![]() |
Paayne:No, not me. |
JigsawKillah, why you drop your verse again? Oluwagrin, don't ask for a battle here again. |
Paayne:You haven't called anybody out. |
This match is a tie!!! My reason: Elymax could have won this easily but he messed up his build ups, using single line punches that don't connect with final one. This is not like the regular freestyle you drop in FFR. In rap battles, your bar carry more weight when the setup connects with final punch. Apart from the beetle bar and the closer, the rest are just random single punches. Limerick, on the other hand, have a near-perfect setup but his lazy rhymes and stretching are not forgivable. And what the hell is ''bar jaj"? I had to google for the meaning of jaj but found nothing reasonable. Beetle and bit two don't play too. It's pronounced "beedle", not "bitu". My best lines: i'm an eminent battler/ so doff ur hat, or i'll pop ur heart, if you don't credit the master/ they treat me with REVERENCE; including prekky the pASTOR/ while this worwor boy is condemned to hell with his father/ at his sight, even the devil will stagger/ this nigga got deadly looks; he don't need prayers to make his enemies scatter/ - ElymaxiimusThis closer deserves a Don Emarco moment. ....this killing spree just reached an outstanding apex/ wacko on 2go came here and was highly rated/ and if he 'grown wings'... He turns a frightened 'angel'/The only f-uck up is the rhyme. MVGT - Tie! |
