@All happy gurus online Sorry to be a party pooper seeing y'all are in a gay moodbut I can't log on to my customer log-on page at Zenith Securities. . . . Need to know if they've bought my First bank . |
@invisible I'v retracted myself,kind-of. See above post. |
Guys. This is the 360th page of our educative thread.Time we all did a 360 degrees check on what each member can do to keep it real. I suggest peeps ease-up on the sychophancy thing. . . . . . Lets be consciously mature. Maturity was when a lot of peeps kept silent when FatherOf2 posted an open rebuff in response to Wanajo's post to him.Remember? The "story-story" thing. Peeps see.Peeps feel.Peeps choose to be mature. Guess I felt.Guess I probably am not being too mature with my last post above when I sniggered. And my not being silent now. So I must do my 360 degrees also. . . . . |
Dare they question advice that was sought without question from thier Father? |
Plus,I noticed its been on bid(weak,though) for a while now. O.k,thanks @invisible. |
@invisible What's up my man? Need help in making a buy decisoion.First bank,short-term. Where do you see its price in two-three months time? Thanks mon. ' |
@Gudchoice Read @Pumping 777 4 or 5 posts above. Looks like Fidelity is considered still a little to expensive for most investors as confirmed by its being on strong offer yesterday (click on @kpineo's attachment, daily position, above). Looking forward long-term though,Fidelity may be an o.k. buy. |
easimoni:I'm getting the "feel" I think,of the NSE these days, I think UBA needs a twin-track,or even tripple-track race to encourage it attain top gear. I'm talking about the awaited bull run of Zenith (at TS lift-off) and First bank (Q3 results). Its a three-horse race.No jumping the gun. My take,so I imagine. |
@pumping 777 Thanks a lot, man. Sir,you really got staying-power there,@pumping .Think I'll bank more on Fidelity despite what you've because going forward(anticipated Q3 result),I think they may show a little hype in thier results.Think its the trend these days. Thanks again guys, much appreciated. 90 90 |
@invisible Thanks man for the effort. *whispering*And yea,I cant see you,you cant see me and we never posted each other. . .! |
@pumping 777 @invisible Hi. . .I can see u (not so invisible) guys are still online,so here's my question if you please. . . Going by past analysis by @gurus et al,concerning Fidelity bank that was then considered overvalued at TS price. What was said to be its fairvalue? Perhaps you should whisper it into my ear . |
pumping777:@pumping 777 I would rather consider the volume raised at a PO(which then impacts on its fundamentals),rather than considering what number of times it goes for a PO.The timing of Zenith's last PO afforded it to raise just that much (relatively little) in amount of funds, for the obviuos reason of lower pricing for that time of the company's growth-curve as it were. Even if you look at numbering of POs it would interest people to know that Zenith, just as its peers,is doing only its SECOND PO. People erroneously count Zenith's IPO,which came just before the consolidation era,as its "first" consolidation era PO.And for those who don't get the clarification correctly,it is that every company currently listed on the stock exchange,as now a "public" company, was once-upon-a-time a "privately owned" company. And that, this transition can occur through an initial public offer (IPO),or sometimes through an initial private placement.Case in point,Oceanic bank transited from privately owned to publicly owned (PLC) by way of private placement then listing on the floor, initially. This was followed by their TWO seperate POs(publis offers).Zenith's squence, again,is IPO,then a PO and now a 2nd PO.Hence,in terms of POs after becoming a PLC,Zenith and Oceanic are at par. And so,Zenith's current PO is actually at par with Oceanic's (and by the way,UBA's 3rd if you "count" the private placement which earstwhile Standard Trust Bank did after their 1st PO),hence my catch-up comparison. Catch-up,not because Zenith isn't doing well, but that a PAT of 8+ Billion (at Q2 for that matter) was slightly less than Oceanic's at Q1.This is why I imagine there probably might be a catch-up after subsequent utilization of PO funds by Zenith.A recent analysis by UBA projects a full-year PAT of 40+ Billion for Oceanic. Zenith's projected mid-term valuation(stock price) might then be corrected upwards, given similar time-frame to utilize huger post-PO(2) funds . |
@pumping 777 @any takers on-line What say you sir, about my theory that Zenith's "beating" in terms of relative profitability/greater earnings amongst recent Q results of its peers,is only a reflection of the fact that the others have had more time to utilize the huger funds avalability post PO. In other words, subsequent Q results should reflect for Zenith,a catch-up to its peers' sterling results.Dont you think? |
koksieboy:@koksieboy Thanks for the tip,but check this,I actually mandated a buy order via e-mail as they too had adviced since their software malfunction problems.I ordered purchase of Access bank, incorporating a price limit and expirey date for day after. Would you believe several days after they went ahead and bought even above my price limit. Kia kia,I went yesterday to rake.He said the obvious wrong purchases would certainly, easily be rectified{and by this he meant, would simply be cancelled, hence my loosing-out buying at the opportuned time } . . . . .With 50,000 clients,so he claimed, their software had to go through the needed upgrading;was what he pleaded. I watch them like a hawk;these guys want to mess my short time play(that I've thankfully learnt about on this thread) . |
Favour08:@Favour08 Yeah, its the same guy(Ogun___).My account too was overdrawn. Though I wouldn't vouch safe for any firm, his explanations were that orders were bought, that had been unsuccessfully attemted to have been cancelled by clients who then placed new orders on the assumption that their earlier orders were successfully cancelled. Both orders thereby being bought As you might have experienced yourself, lots of order cancellation attempts have been made by clients due to inherent errors discovered in them Call him to help put up the pressure. . . . |
Favour08:@Favour08 I'm one of those affected by Zenith Securities' software upgrade probs. Was there today;met with the Chief Operations Officer. He was appologetic and promised that rectification would be done in a couple of days. His numbers: Mobile: 08023049774 Tel: 01-2782975 DL: 01-2783162 Lets hope they come through . |
dejacrue:@dejacrue It isn't my intention to serve as a proxy to Zenith nor to encourage that guy marketing on any thread. However,to keep the financial facts straight so that the uninformed can benefit, you are wrong in your above quote. The guy said a fixed deposit rate.Yes,most Nigerian banks will give such interest rate, particularly depending on the amount being fixed as deposit.Large volumes will attract even higher rates than 8.5%,usually even being negotiable. Money talks. My take;just keeping facts straight. |
@All Zenith Securities' website is messing up timely buys by its clients .It's really so messed up at the moment, all in the name of upgrading I'm frustrated and so vexed right now.Hope at least they brokered today's order I sent via E-mail ![]() |
Again,@easimoni I'm seeing the 8 billion plus,Zenith posted as after tax profit for Q1. Traditionally, this figure goes northwards every new Quarter.I'm therefore seeing 32-37 billion PAT at full year. This to my mind would be the industry's highest. Would also be the earliest to be announced amongst the big banks based on year-end,as well as Zenith's timeliness to release its results. These translates to a greater tendency for instiutional peeps to turn on the flood more towards Zenith;and this, the better for price motion for short-termers. I SEE ZENITH'S POST-TS PRICE DEFYING GRAVITY unlike some pretenders of late .Zenith's PO is crispier;less dilusion.Only 25% oversubscription allowed, which BTW,doesn't apply to the "right's issue" part which by nature has only a fixed 100% maximum subscription at most. After the PO,I figure a total number additional shares of about 3.5 billion.More funds post-offer with relatively less increament in outstanding shares compared to UBA offer.Better-looking bottom line .To me,that's crunchy.Forward EPS stays attractive.Bonus;good dividend in view.No bonus, then EPS gets better onward and so price follows suit.In short,Zenith is better short-term than UBA because,short-term,it IS better .but also because long-termers (6 months upward) consider it more readily in their scope. And this keeps short-term motion upwards. What say @Takers. . . . . |
easimoni:@easimoni. My season's greetings. I understand what you are saying,in that if one takes a position TODAY,UBA is a sure bet short term. However,I'd like to know if you considered ZENITH at TS price in the same time frame, especially as Q2 results are (more predictably) expected as a price boost post lifting of TS. Of course I've considered that you excluded ZENITH since its near- impossible to get enough volume from it due to TS Your take, please. |
@Gurus @Takers FCMB again, might present a safer haven if the market reacts negatively to possible government intervention against the top rung banks if indicted for round-tripping offences e.t.c My reasons are that they are reputed to be a top standard investment bank with relatively weighty foreign presence.Even awarded investment bank of the year(Don't know who awarded),never mind that this might just be hype .Again, possible hefty price correction may be disproportional across all banks, sparing more readily the "penny-stocks" type prices,of which FCMB's is one. Then there is the Man's reputation as the Godfather. For many years now the silent "Guru" of the indigenous, once privately owned banking industry.Otunba Subomi Balogun. This old-school general, together with FCMB of which he is founding CEO no bequethed to his son, pride themselves of playing by the book.[sub][/sub]Or so I want to believe sha.No stats to behold. .Takers any? 9 |
@Any takers, peeps @Gurus I'm taking a rather lazy approach in taking a position with FCMB(Will place a buy order,Monday). I recall @Gurus(Bless them) pronouncing fair pricing, good forward EPS e.t.c. for FCMB,Access and the like, upon analysis of thier respective PO's. Adding 130something% increament in after-tax profit at Q2 to the mix, forward EPS is substantially greater now than was considered during PO analysis. My broker shall see a buy order,Monday,at market price. At market price,so peeps who would be doing same, would not rain on my parade . At worst,a 5% gain bings price to apppox.N17.06 going by last close at N16.25 . |
@Afamco Thats an affirmed thank you . |

@All Hi and merry Xmass and a profitable new year in advance. Could someone tell me when FCMB's financial year ends? Also, was it thier half-yr or 3Q-yr results that was recently released? ![]() |
chokit:@chokit,@Gurus and all.I salute you guys! I put my money on Zenith when I bought 20,000 units on the floor this week.I think Zenith is solid.Price predictability wise, they are proven.I think they have thier fundamentals set aright and working for them. BTW,I was charged just N14,000 approx.(1.5%) as Sec e.t.c.fees on about N1M invested--20,000 units of Zenith shares.Does this mean fees are less when stocks on TS are bought?Or does it have to do with the fact that the trade was done by Zenith Securities,my brokers? I sold ALL my OCEANIC! Now I no better. It was long overdue considering my own set targets. . . Any insights, please? |

My 2008 New Year's Resolution: Was I True To 2007's? Why do we even make them? New years' resolutions I mean. I think its borne out of an innate desire to SUCCEED.And so we set goals, even subconscious ones. My 2007 one was not pronounced ''aloud''. It was a combination of several desires like ''meeting my set financial target'',' 'being a more tolerant person'',' 'finally starting my exercise schedules, own great abs'', ''be less of a harsh dad to my 7yr old'',''e.t.c'', Did I stay true to all? , Tell you what, gist me some of yours then we go here how far? So, 2008's new year resolution? |
