Education / Re: I Have Been Withdrawn From Medical School. I Can't Tell My Parents by Ktiti: 12:47am On Jun 04, 2020
sagna112:
My name is Uche a 100Level supposed medicine and surgery student of a Nigerian University, I used to be very brilliant and that was what instigated me to apply for Medicine and Surgery after acquiring an aggregate score of 270 in both JAMB and POST-UTME Examinations, I was then admitted a years ago into a university.

I am the only child of my parents, they have spent so much on me just to make sure I become a doctor, dad had to sell one of his plots of land to pay for my registration fees, purchase a brand new laptop, a phone and clothes for me and all my needs, Mum who has no job since she was sacked by the state government will always try to send the little that will pass through her, when I think of the way she announced to her friends when I gained admission to study Medicine it brings tears from my eyes.

It will be an injustice on me to be blamed or for me to blame myself, I know the effort I have also made, I have always taken my studies serious, I never missed any lecture, I neither miss assignments nor tests, I sit at the front of the class, I don't keep bad gangs, I have never attended a party, sometimes I do RTDB (Read Till Day Break), what is then my offense? why me?

At the end of my 100 level Second semester my CGP was reading 4.2 without a single carryover, I was very happy because I thought I had scaled through the danger zone.

The unexpected occurred when I logged into the school portal at the end of my Second Semester Examination to check my result, I cleared all the courses with A's and B's but a course was reading Carryover, I nearly fainted when I saw the result, it was a biology course I offered in second semester to me the course was the simplest of all. I did not inform my parents because I din not want to dishearten them.

The school resumed, so I went to my HOD and complained, she took me to the Exam office who searched thoroughly for my script and from what I saw it was obvious I failed, I scored 32% and was asked to change department, my HOD advised that I go to Biological Sciences, my eyes were filled with tears.

How do I tell my parents this, it only mean I have brought shame to them. I have remained in school since then crying from one angle to another I don't know whether to go home to my parents to inform them of the truth or keep telling them lies.

I need your sincere advice.

My dear, pls let them know. Same thing happened to me. Had one of the best results in 100 level studying medicine but a particular course French made me withdraw as I had a carryover. Everyone knew I was studying medicine but when the news broke out, I had to tell my parents and changed my course.
How did they take it? Not so well but we are good now n I am a licensed medical laboratory scientist.

Don't worry if you cannot rewrite Jamb, you can pls switch course n u will be fine
Best of luck

Family / Re: I Killed This Snake Near My Toilet At Midnight, Help Needed (Photo) by Ktiti: 12:13pm On May 14, 2020
Designer123:
Early this morning (around 12:02 am), I saw this snake on my lobby close to my toilet. I don't know where it came out from but there is a hole on my toilet where I usually see cockroaches. There is also an ant hole close to the toilet door. I don't know if it came out from any of those holes.

Also, does any one know the characteristics of this snake? Is it poisonous?

Do you think the snake offspring will be in my house?

This is the first time I am seeing snake in my house (the house is 11 years old). What can I use to repel snakes around my house?

Please help, I really need to address this. There is a 3weeks old baby on the other apartment. Thanks.

Please get bitter kola, cut into tiny pieces n sprinkle around the house. They detest the smell

Let that bird go pls. Obey your father. You can get yourself a pet if you so desire

True talk OP.... It's so sad that most people don't realize that the wedding is just for a day, while the marriage is for a lifetime. What's the point in feeding the whole nation on your wedding day and go home to drink garri afterwards??

I'm not sure of doing any wedding sef.... All i'll do is pay the bride price, do a light traditional gathering of both families, go for marriage blessing and use the money i would have spent on the wedding ceremony to go for honeymoon in Seychelles or Maldives....

God bless my fiancee for having and sharing such a great idea with me...

Okay...let me add

1. Flexibility, it gives me room to establish my own company. I work for 2weeks, then have 2weeks off. I go on 6weeks leave.
2. The pay is amongst the highest by rank in Nigeria.
3. Prestige when I mention where I work no be here....lol.
4. My escort JTF when I'm on the field.
5. Freebies every 3months...42 tin of milk, several Milo beverage etc.
6. Christmas bonus
7. Working with the best brains in Nigeria...most of my colleagues are first class students o.
8. Opportunity to work with foreigners and learn divers cultures.
9. Continuous Trainings
10. That "Happy Hour", my company's Friday Friday club. You can get free P**sy if you want cos Nigerian girls
(undergraduates) are usually invited, settled by the company.
etc...many things I can't think of now.

What I don't like about my company...
1. The attitude of some Nigerian bosses; always likes to reduce the benefits, don't know why blacks are like that.
2. Sometimes, it can be boring sha cos of the routine activities.

Boring ke? God bless your hustle o.

Stale and hackneyed response ...the energy it took you to come up with this trash . grin

Mr Beorn1 ...I may not be God or have super powers but I'm hundred percent sure of three things.

I'm more connected than you are .

I'm way richer than you are .

And asides Nairaland someone like you can never get the chance to be in my circle .

You know nothing about my life , so keep it moving and don't further embarrass your age .

* Because I joke about my friends being on TV *

You're just a funny human being ...whoever told you I had any intention of being a celebrity ?

Maybe that's your life goal * which clearly isn't taking off * but it's certainly not mine .

I've always loved invisibility and mystery what makes you think I'll be willing to put myself out there .

And yes I stay in Lekki and you can too ...if you stop looking for loopholes inside other people's story and focused entirely on your own life .

Even kids in their early twenties stay in my area and these boys pay their rents themselves .

Yet ,here you are going back and forth with me on Nairaland and doing whatever you do best .

Your lame response can only fetch you likes but will never change the reality ...you and Frodd can never be on my level grin

Whether you choose to believe it or not , it doesn't matter.

Keep chasing likes on Nairaland while kids half your age are busy getting paid .

Oblorblorblor

It is official, you are mouthed grin

Cheers to you Annie.

Never knew CS can damage a woman's tommy like this. Really surprise.

Not all CS. Some doctors are really good at stitching, you hardly know. I know a Dr that gives a small cut, brings out the baby and stitches so well.
