Agriculture / Re: Why Can't Apples Grow In Nigeria? by KunAviero(m): 4:54pm On Sep 27, 2014
himkers:

That's my point. What made it 'dead on arrival?'
Is it a deliberate attempt by the foreign farmers to keep it away from Nigeria (and probably africa)?
Why do most people just like to display their stupidity and low I.Q openly? Apple is a temperate crop. What that means is that it needs a very cold weather to thrive. It is IMPOSSIBLE to grow it in any tropical place be it Africa, South America, and please try and drop this stupid mentality of we-are-being-cheated. After all some crops can't be grown in temperate regions. God made everything the way it should be so that nobody can have anything both ways.

Nairaland / General / 8 Things Highly Motivated People Do Differently. by KunAviero(m): 4:14pm On Sep 18, 2014
Everyone has a burning drive inside of them. For some, they need to learn
from others to find it. For others, the drive comes naturally and
pushes them to do great things. See what those naturally highly motivated
people do differently and what they can teach us.
1. They move on
Highly motivated people don’t dwell on problems. If they mess up on a
speech in public, fail a test, or do something embarrassing, they don’t try
to push it away. They don’t let their mistakes stop them from achieving
their goals. Instead, they look at these mistakes as nothing but
simple moments in their life. They accept them, learn from them, and
move to the next thing on their to-do list.
“You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on
the past. You don’t try to forget the mistakes, but you don’t dwell on it.
You don’t let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of
your space.” - Johnny Cash
2. They wake up early
For most people, the morning is the most productive time of the day.
While the world sleeps, highly motivated people are getting things done.
Distractions seem to disappear and great ideas will come fast in early
morning.
“Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.”
– Benjamin Franklin
3. They read…a lot
When Bill Gates and Warren Buffet were asked if they could have one
super power they answered the same thing: to be able to read faster.
Highly motivated people are always learning. Reading allows one to take
in the knowledge of some of the smartest people who have ever lived.
Highly motivated people don’t spend much time watching reality TV –
they do, however, spend their time reading. Need some books to read? Get
started with these 21 amazing autobiographies.
4. They plan
Highly motivated people don’t leave things up to chance. Planning allows
people to get things done faster and better. Highly motivated people know
this, and they make use of it. Start waking up and planning all the things
you have to do for the day. You’ll be amazed at how much more
productive you are.
5. They set goals
Highly motivated people are always working for something. They know
what they want, and they search for ways to achieve it. Life hack is filled
with great articles on setting goals. Check out this one and start working
for something.
6. They seek advice when needed
There will be points in everyone’s life where they just can’t do it on their
own. Highly motivated people are not afraid to go out and look for help.
They don’t let stubbornness keep them from reaching their goals.
Oftentimes, the best resource can be a person you see everyday. Help them
and they’ll help you. Yes, it’s that simple.
7. They are grateful
Gratefulness has been shown to improve happiness time and time again.
Highly motivated people know this and they practice gratefulness all the
time. It helps keep them grounded and reminds them that they also
had some help. Try to write down 5 things you’re grateful for every day. It
doesn’t matter if they’re big or small – just 5 things you’re grateful for.
8. They don’t set limits
Highly motivated people never stops trying. They pursue their dreams
without worry. Limits don’t exist in their minds. Take a second and
imagine where you want to be in 5 years. Don’t worry about how
impossible it sounds. Remember, highly motivated people don’t set limits.
Now write it down. A highly motivated person would hang that piece of
paper up, read it every morning, and work towards it every day. Source: .com

Education / Re: Why You Must Finish With At Least A 2.1 by KunAviero(m): 1:07pm On Sep 11, 2014
Freelancer00: Sir. Ur logic is flawed. Ur grade doesn't determine ur level of success in life.
Case study: My boss.
He attended a polytechnic in the southwest. He graduated his ND in the 3rd year after numerous carry overs. He was 'given' certificate of attendance. After school, he started working in a company where he later became the head of his department cos of his high technical ability. After 2 years, he branches out on his own, registered his firm, started using his technical expertise to get small contracts of 'man must survive' grade. Fast forward years later, he's sitting in his office inside his AC given orders to first class and second class upper graduates.
Moral of my story is YOUR GRADE DOESNT DETERMINE YOUR LEVEL OF SUCCESS IN LIFE.
I don't think you get his message. He didn't say it DETERMINES, rather it helps and I know he's right cos my lecturers and all other successful people I know keep saying the same thing. Graduate with a good grade cos that's the number one step and by graduating with a good grade, I mean getting by yourself not some nonsense apiam way.

I am a recent graduate from a Nigerian Federal University. I finished with a strong 2.1 but I wish I made a first class.

As I'm writing this piece, I have two friends that just got job offers from a reputable multinational company in Nigeria. Guess what? They are both still serving and will resume immediately after NYSC in October. You know what? One of them finished with a 1st class and the other with a strong 2.1
you did mention STRONG 2.1 in this wonderful article of yours. Is there anything like a weak 2.1? What exactly do u mean by a strong 2.1??
To those of you who didn't receive the free 1gb mtn are giving out.

You should know that mtn are giving the free bundle only to customers that subscribe to their monthly data plan at least 3times in 6months.
When I say 'data plan' I mean their normal 260mb for N1000.. That means those using their BlackBerry plan aren't included in the offer.

So don't get angry... They give the free 1gb only to people they've dubbed.
Imaging 260mb for N1000.
So how come I received it from them on my second line that I don't even use that much talk more of subscribing with it?

Kunlexic: Iam an aspirant and i wish to study pharmacy but i put in 4 bch as my 2nd choice course, all are still d same,xo wlc me as i am hear to gain experience on the course.
Oh dear here they come. Please don't make the mistake of thinking that pharmacy and biochemistry are related. They are similar but pharmacy is much more tougher than biochemistry. You get to write professional exams in pharmacy with a possibility of studying the course for way more than five years that is if you are among those that just rushed in and registered for the course without actually knowing what it is all about;without knowing that it is as tough as preparing for a neurosurgery final exam. Biochemistry on the other hand is a four year course that guarantees you graduation in four years and a minimum of 2.2 because, though it is tough, it is something you enjoy practice in your everyday life.

alabo1:

please tell me what the s4 and s5 can do that far cheaper phones like the gionee m2, gpad 2 and infinix alpha and tecno r7 to name a few can't do. I have compared these devices and only find marginal differences in screen display while the devices I mentioned have better battery life.most of the functions we hype in the s4 , HTC one etc like 4g are not even available here. it saddens me that in a country where earning power is so lower people still fritter away hard earned money on these frivolities. a phone is not an achievement or an investment. for such a purchase the ideal is to get the cheapest with the most value.
The air gesture and eye detection alone impressed me so much in the S4. Can these other phone of yours do that?
Computers / Re: 5 Gadgets That Are All Hype And Overpriced by KunAviero(m): 12:32am On Aug 31, 2014
I totally have no problem with this post. WRONG. How can you say Samsung phones are overhyped? Have you seen what the S4 can do not to talk of the S5 and yet they are not as pricey as some sony experia and HTC and iphones which are the costliest in the market . Common give credit where credit is due. Moreover there are still low cost samsung phones around. They are all priced according to there specifications.

Celebrities / Re: Davido Lied! He Can’t Afford The Acquisition And Maintenance Of A Private Jet, S by KunAviero(m): 1:17am On Aug 30, 2014
manny4life:

That's because he owns NetJets... What do you think? The cost associated with owning a jet when you own companies that operate jets is far lesser than an individual owning one. If he needs a pilot, he will get one through NetJets, if he needs to send them on training, thank God for Flight Safety International (the LARGEST FLIGHT TRAINER IN THE WORLD, he owns them as well). If he needs repair and overhaul, he has companies that own MRO facilities, if he flies within the U.S., his companies own shares of Signature Flight Support (one of the largest FBO operators in the U.S.). So tell me why his cost wouldn't be far less than other jet owners?
I understand better now. I forgot I was actually talking about WARREN BUFFET. Thanks for the knowledge.

Women can be stupid and senseless at times. Even if the man is at fault, could she not have turned a blind eye just for the sake of her children, the name "Oyakhilome", the christ embassy church and what the bible says about divorce? I thought she took a vow in front of the alter of God to love her husband for better and for worst? Even if others divorce easily, I don't expect such from a high profile pastor like Anita. Pastor Indeed.
