I have been planning to come to naija for a while but fear of indiscriminate search and extortion sends chill into my spine, same to some folks i know here too.

I pray they find solution to there problem so that people can go about their legit daily business without fear of molestation of stuffs.

I want to seek for you peoples opinions regarding my family challenges.

I'm from a broken home. My parents divorced when I was a child of two years. I'm the only child from their union. My father and mother abandoned me and remarried to other spouse each. I passed through hell growing up with relatives who insulted me with all kinds of names and I was treated like a slave to their own children.

Because of public outcry about my dehumanizing treatment, my father came to village and took me to the city. It was from fry pan to fire experience as my father's new wife was maltreating me. At a point, my father asked me to leave his house that since my arrival, he don't have peace with his wife.

I packed to the house of a relative and work in a block industry to help myself. Most times, I slept in a CAC church close to the relative house as the two-room apartment is not enough for his family. My mother never care if I was alive. She never call me nor reply to letter I sent through someone to her. I continued working in the block industry and started a part time programme. I completed the part time programme and did my NYSC and master degree. I got a job with University of Ado Ekiti with the help of a course mate, managing myself now and surprisingly my mother and father started calling me often.

Both of them have 6 children each with their respective second spouse. Mother want his son to come and live with me, I refused and my father too have been requesting for financial assistance which I also refused. I don't want to have anything to do with both of them. My father's daughter recently called me to help her with school fees, I bluntly told her to ask her mother what she did to me and caught the call. Since then, she never call.

I'm alone and have just two friends. I don't have family. All of them calling now are just looking for what to get from me, not that they care about me. My mother never call me once to ask about my welfare even when I sent my phone number to her through her relative. I wrote WAEC, completed degree course before she started calling me and it is only to request for one thing or other. I'm planning to get married without telling them and build a separate family.

Hello Everyone.
I have an event coming up and I want to have two or three soldiers there for protection for guests who'll sleep overnight.
The issue is I don't know the protocol for that.
Do I have to make it official by going to a barrack or a force headquarters or something or can I simply get a soldier that'll come with his friends and do it off the book.
Those that have experience with this kinda thing should offer some advice please.

If you live in Lagos go to Ikeja cantonment at Maryland they will direct you to the right office, go there with your program leaflet or invitation letter to show you have an event and you will be ask to pay some money in the bank and return bank copy to them ,your wish will be granted.

I did same sometimes ago.

I am abroad, I have a few good friends in Nigeria, I still talk very well with the ones that understand i don't have enough yet because of expenses, but i have stopped chatting with those that continously ask for money with every opportunity they have, they ALWAYS complain about hard life, they dont care if I've even paid my rent sef

This is my predicament too,I was complaining to one of my uncle here and he said ,do the little you can and leave the rest cos some of those folks in naija are even eating good food better than you, or how can you explain my own sister asking for financial help and end up organizing birthday party in naija with my hard earned money?

You're not jobless but like the man said, I can relate and you should know what I mean by that.
From day one if your friends either of them didn't come into US with residents permit, they will to have work extra harder to get work permit and engage in all sorts of menial jobs which sometimes might not come cheap due to distance and location which they don't have any option than to jump at it in other to keep up with bills and also body and soul together.

All that said , here in the states no body not even your family will help with a penny.And moreover you have a lot of aspirations that can not be achieved until you are a legal residents, they just might be leaving in fears and also immigration employs Nigerians who are also members of many forums here and are watching every thing people does or type. They will want to pipe low in other not to ruin their chances in the event they end up filling for their applications to remain permanent here, infact the hurdles is endless.

All these put together are many of the numerous challenges that wont allows some of them to even remember their social media page talkless of calling please be patient with them or wait till you arrive here yourself.

That is my little opinion.

I met this girl who stays in washington early last year on KiK then we moved to Snapchat.
