For some days now I have been on a serious dilemma whether to resign from my federal government job that pays me above N200k for my current position and migrate to the UK or stay in naija and set up a business to augment my salary. I will be 34 years next year, I feel traveling to the uk for studies next year September will delay my chances of getting married, as I have planned not exceeding 34 years without getting married.
I belong to the school of thought that believes can make it in Nigeria despite all odds. However, considering the economic realities of the country, I have recently contemplating of japa and maybe get a Nigerian lady for marriage after my studies.
Please I earnestly need matured advice from you guys to know how to start the coming year.

An online video of how a young woman was sacked by a renowned company in the UK company even before she began her first shift has got many people talking.
Recently employed by Harrods, the lady identified as Akorede but known on TikTok as @korrxss, disclosed that she had not yet started her first shift when she received the notice of termination from the company.
Before the viral video of her dismissal, she had gone viral with a previous video in which she talked enthusiastically about her job at the UK-based luxury department store.
In that first video, she suggested that her social class has shot up because of her new employment, stating at one point:

But in the second video, her story changes. Sounding disappointed, she told her followers on TikTok that she didn’t even do her first shift at Harrods before she got fired for going on social media.
Akorede wondered who may have sent the footage to the employer after she was fired. She gave the situation further thought and concluded that it taught her an important lesson to avoid posting pleasant news on the internet.
“I got fired! Before I even did my first shift, I got fired. Someone must have sent the video ‘cos I don’t know how they must have found it. I took that video after I attended my induction; I’ve not even attended my first shift.
“That was really sad. I learnt a really valuable lesson; don’t ever tell good news to people or the internet, keep it to yourself. Upon reflection, that was kind of a shitty video; I was just joking and was just excited,” she said in part.

This is 21st century, the HR/immigration department checks everything you posted on the internet once they have access to your details, and since you have submitted such for verification before your employment its so easy to track your activity online. Maybe this one will teach her and some others valuable lessons.

My Uncle who is a Citizen in USA filed to bring his wife in Nigeria whom he married in 2020 to the United States in that same year 2020.
Luckily after a very long wait time, the USA Embassy in Nigeria called the wife for interview after 2 years in the year 2022.
She went for the interview and was not given the Spousal visa or Green card or whatever they call it
They told her to get more evidence of their marriage as the Visa Officers were not convinced they were married.
They fixed her to come after 2 months from the first interview date.
Before the second interview date, my Uncle in USA fell terribly sick were he could not speak atall.
They could not communicate with themselves at this stage.
She went for the second interview after the two months and was not given visa again.
My Uncle's case got worse that he was even brought back to Nigeria in January 2023.
Now my question is this, in such case, can the wife still get the USA Spousal Visa on her own at this stage?
What can she do to still get the Spousal Visa from here?

They should hire an attorney (resident) to help them do the job. The man should know better.
But wait,your uncle is in Naija already, why not wait till his health improve and can appear together with her ,with more evidence because US is serious lately when it comes to marriage document conducted and presented by Nigerians.
Even if they did,it might not make any difference. In this case I will always advise them to hire an attorney who's residence in the state. That's the only way.
Peter532: I don't know if I should be angry or just smile and take it as it is. This is someone that I fed, I clothed despite us being closed friends since we were kids. He knows everything about me that my parents don't even know till dates..We could go to a gathering together and I will be the one ordering and paying for everything we bought even recently because I always acted like the big bro and he accepted I guess .. Just last week I saw it on his status about is house opening invite. I later got a dm from him that same evening telling me about it that I should come through.
It came as a surprise I admit, even though I know he was doing quite well for himself. I know some will call it entitlement mentality but since I considered we were close like a brother we even ate from same plate last 2weeks, I thought I should have known atleast.

But honestly he owes you no explanation or whatsoever . In my humble opinion, this is our Nigerian culture and not necessarily should be so. He is an adult and have the right to his privacy, all you will do henceforth is to reduce your exposure to him but that doesn't stop your friendship.

Maybe or maybe not,at anytime the same girl would probably have had anyone/relationship before the guy she settled for no one knows. But one thing is certain, there's is always a time in our lives as individuals when you're thorned between making certain decisions, which obviously this topic is one of those,and the individual messed it up and boom we are here talking about this.
