Mayflowa: Thought F1 cannot participate in paid employment outside of the campus. Except You have OPT or have declared harsh economic conditions.
This is quite new. How do you explain this away to police if you are unfortunate to be caught? Yes its true that as an F1 student you are not allow to work outside the campus except if you have EAD card but i know a lot of international students that are doing Uber/Lyft to support themselves. Police officers will only stop you if you commit an offence while driving and to the best of my knowledge they will not ask you for your work permit, what they will ask from you is your driver licence, vehicle insurance and vehicle registration. |

vivyval: Hello house! My name is vivian, I have read through the whole thread; am glad you guys are helping people like me without charges. God bless ya all plenty. I got admission for winter 2016 frm california university of mgt and sc. They dnt require gmat/ gre; therefore I dnt hav any standardised exam. I applied for MCIS; I hav a degree in comp sc, and ccnp certification; have worked here for 5yrs. Am yet to apply to d embassy. Pls must I write the gre even though my skol don't require it? I will advice you to write TOEFL OR IELTS before going to the embassy. Also you will need it when you get to the school and if you don't have it, your school will ask you to enroll for English class. Mind you the class is expensive and also waste of time. |

OjaP: Slimmy:
This hard and bitter truth that you are saying here; there is God ooo . But jokes apart, you've said it all. However, there are still some good girls in America who are brought up well, and will make a good wife. There are bad girls in Nigeria too, so it is every where.
To all the beautiful women here:
Please don't have the mind set that oyinbo guys are looking for black women. There are plenty of them here already still looking and praying for a man to even talk to them. If you live in the big cities, you better be a model for the guys to talk to you. One thing is for a guy to just want to date you, another is for him to want to marry you. This is not Nigeria, having kids for a man doesn't automatically lead to marriage and green card. Please open your eyes and go for who truly likes you.
Finally, most America men wants to see what you are bringing to the table aside sex. You better be smart and play your game well else guys will just be passing you around - there are several Nigerian-American girls here looking for husbands but cant find talk less of a woman who is on a F-1 visa or out of status. Although, some lucky girls see white men who love and eventually marry them; the percentage is very low. Maybe one out of every hundred. Forget all the rubbish you see in movies, real struggle starts here and you have to be ready for the task ahead. Just like Slimmy rightly posited, my advise is for you to never fall out of status. It is easier for a man to change status through marriage. It is hell for a woman to pass through this route.
Good luck. True talk bro. |

socialmediaman: Ok, then I guess the pay would be commensurate with the bills else people will naturally run away, but still Cali boasts of a large population. One just has to be sure of what his priorities are, te good things is that all the elements you need to plan are there at your disposal True talk bro, in as much you know why you are here and not the other way around, you will enjoy every bit of your stay in California. The pay is good but to get a better paying job you need to have further your education here in America. |

I would love to be in Cali though, I want to see the hustle, the cops, the streets, the technology, the social life and all that Hustling in Cali is not bad but accommodation is on the high side. Social life in Cali make sense but you just have to spend wisely. |

durobraham: Thanks alot. Are we supposed to have alot of cash with us? cos im thinking of travelling with little cash but with my visa card. You don't have to, just have some cash with you and save your money inside your visa card. If you read my statement, I said sometimes they might ask you. All they want to know is if you have up to $10k with you cos anything after $10k is money laundering. The funniest thing is that POE officer might not even ask you anything apart from you passport and I-20. |

durobraham: please what things will the POE officers ask? It depends, passport, I-20 and sevis fee for sure. They might ask you few questions like why are you here, Do you have up to $10k cash with you and who is sponsoring you. But nothing to worry about, just calm down and answer anything they ask you. |

efizzy22: Plz house, for those in the U.S.A already on F1. Should I buy a round trip ticket or one way. Hope the officers at the POE wouldn't think I don't wanna come bk again if I buy one way. If I buy round trip anyway, how will I sell the return ticket cuz nt planing on coming back till after my program As an F1 student buy one way, because you dont know when you are going back to naija. For your information, POE officers will not ask you for your return ticket. Dont waste your money, bills plenty way you go pay when you reach Yankee. |

It's always good to sought out house issue before school starts. |

Barrywilly: It depends on whether he sought for permission before going for this interview. If he did, then he should have faced the panel squarely. If not, he's a dishonest employee, who doesn't deserve to be in either places. What kind of permission are you talking about, sick or interview permission |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: His current MD was in the panel conducting the interview he went for! by kunlebal(m): 6:29pm On May 22, 2015 |

Throughout the interview...try to speak well about all the great things you have learnt fron your current working place..and why you think you will do great bringing that experience plus your own great skills.
